"You can't be too sure it's Hojun," Jungsik retorts. "His dealer could've laced it for him and he probably didn't even know it was laced."
Jungkook sighs in frustration, "He's had it out for me, gets the chance to make himself look like he likes me, gifts me cocaine, and next thing I know that shit's laced."
"Even if it was him and he did know it was laced, you can't do anything about it. If you plot your revenge against him, the Seongja mafia is going to plan a hit on you."
Jungkook laughs at his dad's words, "We're the strongest mafia in SK. I'm not scared of anyone and I'm not scared of dying."
"True to all those things," Jungsik nods. "But you are scared of leaving Y/N in this piece of shit world." Jungkook's jaw clenches in annoyance. "That girl is your weakness and you're a fucking idiot for letting her become that."
"And how does that affect you?! Not once have a failed you on a mission. Not once have I chosen her over my duty. Not once have I chosen her over you—my family."
"That makes me glad—that you haven't let her cloud your judgment."
"And she won't. She doesn't know anything that happens in this life because I keep her out of it. I keep her out of everything mafia-related," Jungkook mentions. "Y/N isn't a threat. Y/N makes me happy."
"I want nothing more for you than happiness, son," Jungsik pats his son's shoulder. "But this life will always come first. You swore it when you decided to join."
He rolls his eyes and shakes his head, "I'll never pick between the mafia and Y/N."
"There'll be a day you'll have to."
Jungkook turns around, bringing his hands to his head and walking a few steps. He turns back to his father.
"Happy birthday, appa." Jungkook wishes before leaving.

"I'm home!" Jungkook yells from the door.
"I'm up in the room!"
You hear Jungkook run up the stairs and walk into the room.
"I can't find anything to wear!" You complain.
Jungkook looks at all the clothes on the bed and the ones on the closet floor.
"Seriously?" He laughs as he walks towards you.
You hit him with a dress, "Don't make fun of me."
"I'm sorry, it's just... look at this mess!" He continues to laugh.
"Your father hates me. I have to look presentable for his dinner tonight."
Jungkook wraps his arms around your waist, you wrapping yours around his neck.
"Does it matter what he thinks?" He pecks your lips.
"Kind of," You jokingly shrug carelessly. "Unless you want to have awkward family holiday dinners."
"True," Jungkook grins. "But I don't care what he thinks about you. I'm the one that's loving you and I'm the one that's going to spend the rest of my life with you."
You smile as you bite your bottom lip. Jungkook kisses your forehead then your nose then your lips. The sweet kiss turns heated fast and Jungkook gropes your ass harshly, but you end it before it goes any farther.
"Mm," You pull away. "Not the time. I have to get ready." Jungkook pouts. "Sorry." You turn around and go back to the clothes.
"Fine. I need to go shower anyway."

"Did you really have to look so fucking fine?" Jungkook questions as he drives down the highway.
"I think I look decent."
"Decent?" He scoffs. "Decent my ass. You look next level fuckable.
"Thanks?" You chuckle.
"It's a compliment, baby, but only when I'm the one thinking or saying it."
You both arrive at the restaurant and the hostess leads you to the very back of the restaurant where a long table is at. The boys, Jungsik, his girlfriend, and two of Jungkook's uncles are all sitting around it.
"Hey!" Jungkook chimes as you two walk in and the room is filled with greets.
You both make your way around the table and hug every single person. After Jungkook, you reach Jungsik and bow.
"Happy birthday, Mr. Jeon."
Jungsik's face remains serious, "Thank you, Y/N."
Jungkook becomes annoyed at his father's childish behavior and grabs your hand. He pulls you to the two open seats by Jungsik and pulls out the chair for you to sit on.
—
Surprisingly the dinner was going fine. Jungsik hasn't made a snarky comment towards you which you were happy about. It always resulted with him and Jungkook arguing and you hated that they fought because of you.
You kept talking to Yoongi, who was on your right, and obviously Jungkook, who was on your left. Yoongi kept making random comments about stuff that was irrelevant which you somehow found hilarious.
"Saeng-il chukahamnida! Saeng-il chukahamnida! Saranghaneun Jungsik shi! Saeng-il chukahamnida!" You all sing as the waitress comes out with a cake.
Everyone claps and cheers as Jungsik blows out the candles that make up the number 47. Jungkook smiles as he watches his father laughing.
Something behind Jungsik catches his eyes and he becomes infuriated. Hojun had arrived at the same restaurant and was taking a seat on the booth that was feet's away.
You failed to notice, but Jungkook was clenching his hands into fists and his leg was shaking up and down impatiently. The rage in him kept building up as he watched how Hojun was laughing with that girl he was with.
He doesn't deserve to be fucking happy.
Jungkook unexpectedly stands up and dashes towards Hojun's table. Hojun turns to him and his eyes widen a bit.
"Jungkook! I didn't see you were here!" Hojun fakes his niceness.
"What the hell?" You mutter as you stand up, but Yoongi grabs your wrist.
"Cut the bullshit, Hojun. I know what you did."
"What I did?"
This mother fucker is really trying to play innocent.
"You laced that cocaine you gave me," Jungkook accuses, an atrocious smile on his lips. "Don't try to deny it."
Hojun shrugs and sits back on the booth, "Because I'm not a little bitch, I won't deny it."
"You're not a little bitch?" Hojun's words cause Jungkook much hilarity. "If you weren't a little bitch you wouldn't have tried to kill me by lacing my drug, you would try to kill me face to face like this."
Jungkook pulls out his gun from behind his back and presses the barrel against Hojun's forehead. He pulls back the hammer, the clicking sound echoing off the walls.
"Holy fuck!" The girl that accompanies Hojun starts to freak out.
Hojun laughs, "You think a little gun is gone scare me?"
"Of course not," Jungkook shrugs. "Guns aren't anything to be afraid of. They're practically harmless if I don't do anything, but you know I will, so maybe you should be a teeny bit scared."
"What the fuck is that boy doing?!" Jungsik asks the boys. They all shrug.
Jungkook feels a tug on his free hand's wrist and takes a quick glance at you.
"What are you doing, Jungkook?!"
"He tried to kill me, Y/N." He answers, eyes still on the enemy.
"Please don't do this, baby. Not here in front of all these people." You look around and everyone's on the floor terrified, tears falling down their cheeks and sobs escaping their lips. "Please."
Jungkook looks over at you giving Hojun an opportunity to take out his gun. Jungkook looks back at him, gun already pointing at his head.
Hojun pulls back his gun's hammer, but before he finishes, Jungkook pulls his trigger, the bullet going straight through his forehead.
The restaurant was filled with screams. You open your mouth, quick, shaky breaths leaving it. Jungkook lowers his gun and turns to you.
"I'm sorry."

The car ride home was the absolute fucking worst. It was pure silence and you didn't know how to feel about what had just happened. Well, yes you did—disgusted, scared, disconsolate.
You weren't an idiot. You weren't stupid. You weren't oblivious. You knew what his life was. You knew he hurt people—that he killed people—but that was distant from you. Jungkook always kept it away from you.
It made you uneasy and sick to your stomach to even think about the inhuman things he could be doing because of his lifestyle, but you never thought you'd witness it right in front of your eyes.
As soon as you got into the house, you walk to the kitchen and serve yourself a glass of water. You face the window on top of the sink as Jungkook walks in.
He takes out his gun from it's usual spot behind his back and sets it on the island table with a loud thud. It startles you and you drop your cup, broken glass scattering everywhere.
"I'll pick it up," You whisper, tone frantic.
You try to pass by Jungkook to go grab a towel and the broom, but he grabs your upper arm. You let out a frightened gasp and pull away from him, gaze stuck on the floor.
"Y/N?"
Your breathing starts to quicken, mind flashing to tonight's earlier events. Tears swim in your eyes and Jungkook tries to hold you, but you push him away.
"Don't touch me!" He doesn't listen. Instead, he embraces you. "Jungkook, let go of me!" You punch his chest repeatedly, trying to get away, but he keeps holding onto you tighter.
You lower yourself in attempt to escape, but Jungkook drops down with you, arms still wrapped around you tightly. You both now sit on the floor, his back resting on the island table.
"Please let me go," You whisper, sobs escaping your lips. "Please. Please, Jungkook. Please." You repeat.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I'm sorry." You hear the genuineness in his voice. "I will make sure you never have to witness anything like that ever again." Jungkook softly caresses your back. "I'm sorry, baby."
You continue crying, but you slowly wrap your arms around his waist and lay your head on his chest.
Anyone would think you were insane for even thinking about forgiving him, but you did because you love him so much. You love him too much that it scares you. It scares you to think about the things he could do and you would just forgive.
Call it stupidity, call it love, call it whatever you want, but that's what you felt and you hated it. You hated how you couldn't control your feelings and you hated feeling vulnerable to such a foolish emotion.
