CHAPTER FIVE
ɴᴏ ᴇᴍᴏᴛɪᴏɴ

╚═══════════════.▪.╝

The water hitting the shower's tiles is what wakes you up. It was still dark out, the only illumination in the room being the city lights outside.

You rub your eyes and stretch before turning to your side and resting your head on the palm of your hand. Jungkook walks out of the bathroom with only boxers on as he dries his hair with the beige towel.

"You're awake from your nap?"

"I just woke up."

Jungkook makes his way towards you and lowers himself to place a kiss on your lips. He grabs his dress shirt from the chair and slips it on. You admire his golden, toned torso before it hides away under the white fabric.

He buttons up his shirt then secures the wrist area with silver cufflinks. Jungkook pulls up his pants and tucks in his shirt before fastening his belt around his hips. The blue suit jacket is the last thing he puts on to complete his outfit.

"I can feel you staring." Jungkook comments as he adds rings on his fingers.

"And?"

"Stop."

"Why?"

He looks at you through the vanity mirror as he exchanges his small hoop earring for a dangling one.

"I get nervous."

You try not to smile, but end up failing.

"Why are you even wearing a suit right now?" You question. "You're meeting the guy in the morning."

"I've worn suits every time I go out since I was twelve, getting trained by my father to always look presentable in this business," Jungkook shrugs. "I'm so used to it now that I feel weird walking out of the house without a suit on."

Jungkook's phone rings and he takes it out, reading the message. He sprays some not-so-heavy cologne on himself then walks towards you in a hurry.

"Namjoon hyung is here." Jungkook pecks your lips.

He's about to walk away, but you grab his arm and pull him back to you, your lips connecting again for a longer and more passionate kiss.

"I wish I didn't have to leave you, baby, but I'll be back soon." He whispers against your lips. "I'll call every chance I get."

"Please do."

Jungkook kisses you one last time before grabbing his bag, walking downstairs, and out the front door. He puts his bag of clothing into the trunk and climbs into the back seat.

"What's up, Kookie." Hoseok greets.

"Hey, Kook." Namjoon smiles through the rearview mirror.

"Hey," Jungkook gets comfortable in his seat. "You guys ready for Shanghai?"

"Yes, sir." Namjoon answers as he pulls out of the driveway.

As soon as they landed, the boys made their way to their hotel rooms to set all their stuff down. Their plan wasn't staying in though.

It was their first night in Shanghai and they planned on going to a strip club and getting high out of their minds.

You, however, stayed in, worried out of your mind. How couldn't you be? Last time Jungkook had to do an assignment like this in Hong Kong, he was shot and almost died.

Jungkook—young, strong, powerful, ruthless—didn't think twice about shooting Hong Kong's most high-powered underboss, Jianyu. He was accompanied by his right-hand man who was the one who shot Jungkook.

Left for dead, Hoseok soon found him, bleeding out in the abounded car workshop. After that incident, his father hated you because once he was awake at the hospital, Namjoon had asked why he had done such a careless thing.

"He bad talked my girl, hyung. Made nasty comments. I'd die before I let anyone kick dirt on her name."

Jungsik heard his reason and he wanted so bad to slap some sense into his son.

"How could you let yourself care for such a meaningless girl?! Either you'll die and leave her in sorrow or she dies and it leaves you empty! Our days are numbered for fuck's sake!" Was what he wanted to tell him. And he did.

But Jungkook didn't care.

You made him happy. You made him smile and laugh like no other. You made him furious and sad, but you made him feel loved—something he never felt from his father and especially not his mother. She left him.

But he hated it. He hated that you made him feel all those things. Because before you, there was no one. No one he actually cared about or loved.

Sure, he had his father and his hyung's, but his love for you could never compare to any other thing or person he's ever loved.

That's why he was so possessive of you. He was scared to lose something so special to him. To lose the source of his happiness.

That... and he's just pure crazy.

"Baby!" Jungkook shouts into the phone. "I miss you so much!"

"I miss you too, Kookie," You chuckle at his slurred words. "Are you drunk?"

"Nope," He hiccups. "Not at all."

"Really? You always hiccup when you're drunk."

"Yeah, well, this is just one of those regular hiccup times," Hiccup. "But I need you so bad, Y/N. I'm so horny and I just want to feel my dick deep in your–"

"Alright!" Hoseok takes the phone away from him and Namjoon pulls him away.

"Wait! I wanna talk to my baby!" You hear Jungkook whine in the background as Namjoon drags him towards the car.

"He's something else." You laugh.

"Yeah, he is," He glances back to see Namjoon struggling to put the big baby in the back seat.

"I'll leave you guys alone now. Take care of my Jungkook."

"Y/N!" Hoseok calls as you're about to hang up.

"Yeah?"

"Um, thanks..."

You chuckle, "For?"

"These past six months," Hoseok shrugs even though you can't see him. "Jungkook has been happier than ever. I've never seen him smile as much as he does now and we have you to thank...so thank you."

"I love him, Hoseok. He means everything to me." Hoseok listens attentively. "After my parents disowned me because they found out I was with him, Jungkook became my family. Please take care of him."

"I will," Hoseok smiles. "Goodnight, Y/N."

"Goodnight."

You end the phone call and Hoseok runs back to the car, climbing into the passenger seat.

"How is she?" Namjoon asks as he drives off.

"Madly in love," Hoseok answers. "Just like Drunkook back there."

They both take a look at the back seat where Jungkook lays sleeping.

"Who would've thought he would ever be a boy in love."

"For sure not me. He's never had a serious relationship and he's never said I love you to any girl." Hoseok scratches the back of his head. "Shit's crazy."

"Who was that?" Jin asks as you walk back into the hospital room.

"A friend." You answer and make your way towards him.

"I'm glad you're sleeping here tonight," Jin grins as he holds your hand. "It's been too long."

"Yeah," You pull away and walk towards the couch, fixing the pillow and spreading the blanket. "We should get some sleep."

"You know... you could just sleep on the bed with me."

"It's okay," You reject politely. "You need all the space you can get. Plus the couch isn't uncomfortable."

Lie. It's fucking uncomfortable.

"Okay," Jin nods. "Goodnight. I love you."

You slip under the blanket and get as comfortable as you could.

"Goodnight." You say.

No 'I love you'. No emotion.

And Jin notices.
