IΒ don'tΒ own that pic! ^^

___

Two years.

Two years since you became a demon, two years since you betrayed the demon slayers, two years since you left him.

Tonight was the night that marked 2 years, on the dot.

You still remembered the feeling of Muzan's blood coursing through your veins.Β

You remembered how fiery it felt, and the power you gained after.

You regretted doing it, every moment of it.

After all, it parted you from Giyuu.

But you didn't mind, not one bit.

After all, you would be reunited soon.

"I'm going out for some air," you stated, and the other demons that prowled the room nodded. Walking out of the building, you let out a breath and wandered the dark forest, eventually stumbling upon a male, sitting against a tree. "To prepare for the mission."

You were going to be sent to kill none other than the water pillar, or die trying. It was him or you.

Edging closer, you immediately recognized the spiky hair, the haori, everything.

You remembered him.

"Giyuu.." you mused, leaning closer and placing your cold hand on his cheek. The moonlight surrounded the two of you, making it seem like eternity. "I remember you."

"Do you remember me?" every word you spoke was a quiet whisper, floating on the soft breeze as it reached the male's ears. It awoke him, yet he made no move to open his eyes.

"Do you remember when we would train together?" you asked, and he could also sense a rueful smile trace your lips.

He did remember.

"Giyuu, I know you're awake," you spoke, retracting your hand and settling on your knees. Slowly, he cracked open his blue eyes, horrified at the sight in front of him.

You were still beautiful as ever, there was no doubt.

However, your once soft features had ben sharpened, your eyes glinting maliciously.

"[y/n]?" he asked, hand crawling towards his sword as he stood up in a flash.

"Hi, Giyuu," you spoke, a tear slipping down your cheek. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" you saw his form waver, and his arm shake.

"Y-yeah.." he muttered, watched you closely as you stood up.

You were no longer the girl he knew.

Once the gravity of the situation finally hit him, Giyuu, felt anger replace the longing he felt.

"You've changed," he said, tilting his head as his eyes narrowed. "Why would you betray us?"

"Why would you betray me?"

Each word was like a knife to your heart, and you could only smile.

"Giyuu, do you remember how we would play demon and slayer when we were younger?" you asked, staring him in the eyes. [e/c] met blue, and it was like time stopped once more.Β

He nodded slowly. Once, twice.

But never taking his eyes off your form.

"Hey, why don't make that game a reality right now?" you asked, raising up a clawed hand. You watched Giyuu's eyes widen, and sweat pour down his face.

Him or you.

"I don't want to fight you," he admitted, looking embarrassed. You only smiled softly again.

"Giyuu, do you remember what we promised each other when we played?"

Once again, he nodded.

"Ne, [n/n], let's become demon slayers together and beat the bad guys!"

"Yeah! Promise, Giyuu?"

"Of course! Along with Sabito and Makomo!"

"I-I do.." he muttered, hand clenching on his sword once more.

"Now, the roles are reversed, right?" you stated. "When we were young, you were the demon, and I was the slayer."

His eyes widened even more, if that was possible.

"Y-you want me to...?" you nodded, a crystal tear slipping down your cheek.

"You know, the reason I joined the demon's side was to weaken them from the inside?" you asked, smiling at the starry sky. "I never expected to be turned into a demon."

"Do you know I'm suffering?" you asked again, and Giyuu found it hard to breathe. "Not eating humans can prove to lessen our health."

"You could end it all," you spoke, eyes unwavering as you met his gaze.

The two of you had a staring session, before he unsheathed his sword, looking at you.

"You're..sure?" he asked, and you inclined your head in a small nod. "Once this happens, there's no turning back."

"Of course," you said, patting his shoulder just like you did the the two of you were demon slayers. "Other wise I wouldn't suggest it, right?" a small smile curved onto your lips, and you saw him gulp, raisin his sword to your throat, hands shaking. "Besides, if I don't die, I'll have to kill you.."

"Once this is over, Giyuu, there'll be one less demon for you to fight when the time comes." he nodded, pressing the blade against your throat tighter. You sat back on your knees, blood trickling down from the flesh wound.

"Well? What're you waiting for?" your [e/c] gaze seemed to penetrate him, and he found himself unable to move.Β

"I-I can't," he started, lowering his arm. You frowned for the first time, snatching him sword up yourself. He stumbled, trying. stop you in time, but to no avail.Β

"Then, I'll do it myself."Β

"Wait-"

There was a slash, and then blood splattered everywhere. His blue orbs dilated at the sight of you, blood pouring from your throat as you smiled at him one last time. Beginning to crumble away, you managed to whisper one last thing.

"Remember me, Giyuu."Β

And he did.

The rest of his life, he remembered the selfless demon who gave herself for him.Β
