This is Laka! She's the polynesian goddess of Hula dancing and the forest! She's the one who introduced Hula to the polynesians, and that's a pretty big deal since Hula is one of the main ways they passed on stories and legends to future generations. Since she's the goddess of the forest as well, she presides over all vegetation too.

I just came back from Hawaii yesterday and DAMN IT WAS SO FUN (lemme just say, if yall get a chance to try ube ice cream, pls do). On the plane ride back, I finished this piece since I knew I couldn't go home without some sort of hawaiian-themed drawing lmao (and now I hafta go back to school in like two days *cri*)
