"Another day, another bill to pay."

"Goodmorning Naji." A familiar voice called out gaining my attention. I swiftly turned around to face our regular customer.

"Goodmorning, Thanos." I greeted him smiling. "What can I get you today?" I asked him, using my customer service voice. His eyes rose above scanning our menu for new items. His mouth opened— like he was about to say something but, nothing came out. He looked back down at me, oddly smirking.

"Can I get a coffee with a side of you?" He questioned me slyly, winking as he awaited my response. I stared at him with a blank expression, rolled my eyes, and replied with a stern "No." His facial expression turned into a frown as he muttered "Aww man." I sighed looking at him.

"Is a coffee all you want this morning?" I asked with a monotone voice. He nodded while pouting, making me cringe on the inside. I looked down at the register and input his order.

"Three dollars and nine cents please." I told him knocking him out of his daze. I just stared at him, waiting for him to hand me cash or card. A new customer had walked in and been waiting in line. Thanos stood there looking down at his pockets, not making an attempt to look through them.

"Wouldn't you be a darling and cover my payment for me." He asked using his swooning voice as he looked up, meeting my gaze. We both stood there making odd eye contact. I tried to understand what he just asked of me. "You... want me.. to cover your bill?" I repeated looking at him with confusion. "Yeah aren't we buddies—"

"Can y'all please hurry up? I have cryptocurrency to check and I don't have time for this bullfuckery." The man behind Thanos suddenly blurted out. We both stood there in shock. "I'll cover it Thanos, don't worry about it." I told him which made him smile a little. I turned around and faced the coffee making machine, I already knew how he wanted his coffee. Hot and bitter, little to no sugar.

"Are you gonna take my order or what?" The man called out again. I scoffed and rolled my eyes in response. "The fuck do I look like, your slave?" I muttered under my breath. He must had heard me as he began to raise his voice. "What did you say you bitch?" He screamed loud enough to catch everyone's attention. I turned around and faced him, an angry expression displayed on my face.

"GET THE FUCK OUT MY RESTAURANT!" I yelled at him reaching my arm out and pointing towards the door. I stared at him, not allowing this prick to disrespect me no longer. "You think you can just kick me out because YOU aren't doing your job right?" He yelled back, spitting in the process. A speck landed on my cheek. I gagged while wiping it off. "What's wrong princess, not used to things flying on your face?" He asked mocking me, but lowering his voice allowing the other customers to go back to what they were doing before.

"Just shut the fuck up and leave. I will not be serving you today." I sternly told him. He just stared at me, but he slowly turned around and started walking away. He stopped walking and turned to face me. "We will meet again, and when we do. I will fuck. you. up." He turned around and exited the cafe, leaving me to starting laughing at his seemingly empty threat.

"We will meet again." I said mocking his voice and facial expressions. I turned back around and seen that Thanos's coffee was complete. I poured it into a glass cup and headed towards where he was seated.

"Here you go Thanos! Remember it's on the house." I again greeted him smiling. His head jerked above, his eyes meeting mine. I began to notice how above—decent he looked. If he didn't try to flirt with me every-time he came in here, maybe I would had given him a chance.

"Thank you Naji." He said bowing slightly in his chair. "By the way, your such a badass." He muttered, making me giggle. "Badass?" I questioned him. "Yeah, the way you handled that guy. When you look up the definition of 'badass' your name pops up first." He smiled while telling me that, making me blush from his compliments. "Thank you Thanos, it means a lot." He nodded grabbing his coffee and taking a sip from it.

"This coffee tastes so much better because it's free." I laughed at his comment. "Of course it does! You didn't pay for it." I kept laughing and smiling causing him to do the same. I looked down and noticed he was watching MyunggiStreams, a popular crypto streamer. "You watch him to?" I asked gesturing towards his cell phone. "Yes, who doesn't? He's awesome!" I decided to sit down at Thanos's table instead of standing up, my legs were beginning to become sore anyways.

"He is, following him allowed me to gain 200% profit in a week!" I gloated making Thanos's expression turn into a jealous one. "You're one lucky girl." He told me, pouting yet again. This time it didn't seem cringy.

"All customers, you have ten minutes before closing time!" One of my coworkers announced, I hadn't even notice it had been that long. "Well, this was a good talk Naji." Thanos told me grabbing his cup of coffee. "Again, thank you for this." He gestured to the coffee and bowed before me. "Always Thanos, we are buddies now." I told him making him smile once again. "Till next time, love." I scoffed, he just had to ruin the moment didn't he? "Until next time, bye!" I waved at him as he exited the cafe.

I turned around and walked towards the cash register to do our daily counting.

             One..Two..Five..Twenty..Fourty-Nine...
                        Hundred...Two Hundred...

"Five hundred and Eighty-Five dollars. Pretty good day I shall say." I muttered to myself smiling as I held the money. We each get the spilt the cash made into tips, the servers getting the most of it. I spilt the cash into five piles, each of us getting one—hundred and seventeen dollars.

"Tips are on the counter!" I yelled towards the back door. One by one my coworker's emerged from the back. "How many did we make today Nana?" My friend, Yoon asked. "One—hundred and seventeen dollars each, Five Hundred and Eighty-Five in total!" I calmly gloated while smiling. "What a good day." Our chef said, grinning from ear to ear. We each grabbed our own pile and went to put it somewhere safe. I grabbed my belongings and headed out for tonight, rushing to get home so I don't miss my special stream.
