After a terrorizing night of battling the Great Goblin and being ambushed by Azog and his hunting party, you have come to the conclusion that you would never be joining another one of Thorin's companies again. You would not have had to worry about any of this if you would have listened to Bilbo and stayed at home in the Shire, but you could not let him run off with a bunch of dwarves and a wizard by himself. Despite almost regretting your stay, you're grown to love each and every one of them, even Thorin who would always tell you to stay behind, but that was only because he wanted to protect you. You couldn't possibly leave their company now, not after everything you've been through with them. The eagles sent by Galadriel carried the company to the safety of Carrock where Gandalf revived Thorin. He embraces Bilbo - who saved his life from the Orcs - with gratitude before acknowledging your presence. He was taken aback for a moment, his head spinning, believing that he might have lost you during the fight with Azog. You were beaten up and bruised, but you still had the strength to smile back at him.
