lilian julia-janie evans was the daughter of a father and a mother, like most people. the evans family wasn't exactly perfect, but they did their best for stars hollow.

lilian lived right next door to the gilmore girls lorelei and well... lorelei. lilian often spent most of her childhood over there, reading with rory and watching their mothers sip wine and jane cry about her husband.

jane and liam never married. jane got knocked up by liam at 16, and just stayed with him for the sake of her daughter to have two parents instead of just one.

but as she watched their daughter grow, she honestly wish she took it all back and raised young lily on her own.

lily was very close with her father in her single digit years, but grew not to like him as much once she hit 10 and realization that her father was nothing but a drunk who wasn't in love with her mother, but loved another woman somewhere out of state.

lily was 11 when her parents split. children aren't particularly supposed to leap in joy when their parents separate, but lily wasn't like other children. she liked art. she liked van gogh and poe.

lily's mom kicked her father out, and he willingly left. he still called lily, just on birthdays and christmas. jane had full custody and liam got her on weekends when she chose to go during the summer. which she never did.

jane stayed single, having a few boyfriends here and there which after the first two, lily told herself not to get attached to any man her mother brings through the door. liam married some hooker in detriot, and had three little babies with her.

lily was never particularly one that thrived towards the idea of having a boyfriend or a girlfriend, she was like rory, focused on academic success.

until jess mariano rolled around.
