dylan walks into sony music studios, his worn out black converse tied perfectly, and his black beanie sitting comfortably on his head.

he walks up to the front desk, taking his headphones out of his ears. "excuse me, do you know where the meeting for the new band is taking place?" he asks, bouncing slightly on the heels of his feet.

"oh yes, go up the stairs on the left, the 2nd meeting room on my right is what you're looking for." the lady at the desk instructs the boy. he quickly thanks her, sending her a smile, before dashing off towards the stairs.

he finally gets to the door, opening it without warning. seven other heads in the room, snap in his direction, making him smile slightly in embarrassment. "dylan i assume?" a man in a navy blue suit greets him at the door.

"yes sir. sorry i'm late." he apologizes, glancing at everyone else in the room. "that's fine, we were waiting for you so that we could start the meeting." the man says. "take a seat beside evangeline." he directs dylan beside a girl with curly black hair.

dylan sends her a small smile as he sits next to her, and she gives him one back, making him a little bit more comfortable.

"alright! welcome everyone, my name is nathan friar, and i bet you're all wondering why you're here." nathan starts.

five of them nod their heads, looking around at each other. "so you five have been chosen to form a band together. sony talent scouts caught sight of your individual talents, and wants to combine them to create one full force dream team to take over the music world and help fulfill your dreams."

everyone's eyes widen at the words they just heard, not really believing a word of it. "wait really?" cierra asks, her eyebrows raised.

"if you're bullshitting us right now and this is some sort of scam tell me right now, because this is legit my dream and i don't wanna get my hopes up." leilani spits out, sitting up in her seat slightly.

"this is real guys, you walked into the building didn't you?" nathan jokes.

"oh my god." karly mutters, having trouble making sense of all of this. "ouch!" thomas squeals.

the group looks over at him, confusion on all of their faces. "what? i was pinching myself to make sure i was awake." he explains, making them laughs and roll their eyes.

"and guys, this is anastasia, she is going to be your manager. she will handle everything on the business side of things and help you guys through the process from recording to rehearsals, the whole nine yards." nathan says, pointing to a girl sitting on the end of the table, waving at the excited group.

"so what are you?" cierra asks nathan. he gives her a confused look, making her laugh. "like what are you to us, our producer, our assistant? what?" she elaborates.

nathan chuckles at her question, pondering for a second. "think of me as your yoda." he answers, the group nodding. "i'll leave you guys to meet each other." he says before leaving the room, with anastasia behind him.

when the room is just nothing but the five new band mates, evangeline is the first to break the silence. "GUYS WE'RE GONNA BE IN A BAND!" she exclaims.

that's when it hits them all, and they jump up, celebrating. they hug each other, pick each other up, jump together, everything, and they didn't even know each other yet.

"wait. we don't even know each other." cierra points out. "she's right. what if i end up hating everyone's guts?" leilani adds on.

"that's highly unlikely. let's start with names. my names dylan taylor, and i play the guitar." dylan says, starting the ice breaker.

the group goes around the room, introducing themselves, and spilling random little facts about themselves to get to know each other.

"no way you play the ukulele. you gotta play for us one day." thomas says to evangeline, making her blush slightly.

"i definitely will." she nods her head.

eventually, anastasia walks back into the room, standing in front of the table. "hey guys, so, i'm going to be explaining to you how the next six months will go for you if you decide to sign the contract." she says, letting the group digest her words.

"okay so, we will start out with boot camp. you'll have three months worth of vocal and instrumental boot camp to help prepare you for studio time." she explains, opening the contract, and the five members followed.

karly raises her hand sheepishly, catching anastasia's attention. "yes karly?"

"we aren't going to be one of those coordinated, super in sync bands that have to memorize choreography and stuff right? because if so, i don't think this is for me." she says, looking down at the contract momentarily.

"no, you'll be a normal band that just plays instruments and sings your hearts out. minimal movement." anastasia laughs. karly nods her head, excepting the answer.

"then after boot camp, that's when you guys will start studio sessions, and recording your first single, and hopefully you'll have time left over to start working on an experimental EP." she continues.

"what's an experimental EP?" thomas asks. the five members in the room knew a lot about music, but if they were about to jump headfirst into the music pool, they needed to know everything they could.

"it's like a project that an artist puts out to see if the kind of music they are making will take well with the public. it's not a full album, so there's not really any risks being taken." evangeline explains to him.

"we will start to introduce you to the public, and start promoting you and teasing the single, so that everyone will be hyped and excited to listen to you for the first time. and finally, we will release the single, hopefully have you guys on some radio shows and interviews, and then you'll be known worldwide." anastasia explains excitedly.

she looks around the room at the five, waiting to see what they'll say. "what do you say?"

they all look around at each other, the same thing going through each of their brains. finally dylan speaks up, saying what everyone was thinking.

"let's start a band."
