home
Going back to Daegu was always a great feeling.
After all, this was her home, the place where she had spent the majority of her life before having to move out to Seoul in order to pursue her dreams of becoming an idol.
Her family hadn't been very rich when she was young, but they had been happy, and it hadn't bothered the Hwang girl back then that she couldn't afford everything that she wanted. Yet despite all of this, her parents had always tried to keep her happy and comfortable enough.
Of course, when BTS had gotten bigger and suddenly their net worths were sky-rocketing, it had filled in quite the money for Juhee, and her first thought was pay her parents back for everything they had given her.
They had finally moved out of the small, cramped house that she had been living in, and she had bought her parents a rather luxorious new home that wasn't far from their restaurant.
"My God, you've gotten skinnier!" Her mother, Yoon Hyesoo, inspected her only daughter's appearence, the latter of whom rolled her eyes before engulfing the older woman in a hug.
"Is that seriously the first thing you have to say to me?"
"It's your mother's way of affection, dear," Hwang Jinseong gently pried Hyesoo off the younger girl before embracing his child, eyes sparkling. "But I do agree with her, you have lost some weight,"
"Probably the dancing, our choreographies are getting harder," Juhee dropped her bag on the side before stretching out onto the sofa. "How have you both been?"
"Not bad, the restaurant's doing well, and your Aunt Minhee might be coming down later," Jinseong sat opposite his daughter as Hyesoo stuffed some cut fruit into the Hwang girl's mouth. "But, tell me, how have you been doing?"
Juhee swallowed down the fruit before speaking. "I'm... happy," She lolled around for the right word. "Content, everything's been going well so far, and I couldn't really ask for more. I'm healthy, the boys are healthy and happy and we seem to be doing well,"
Hyesoo and Jinseong exchanged happy glances. There had been a time where their daughter had returned home exhausted, crying, and generally miserable due to the pressure of being an idol, and there were times when they had wondered whether it had really been a good idea to let her pursue this particular dream, yet now, when they saw the beaming, relaxed grin on her face, they knew they had made the right decision.
"You should've invited the boys over," Hyesoo scolded her child. "Or you could invite Yoongi and Taehyung over, seeing that they're in Daegu,"
"They also have their own families to visit, Mum," Juhee rested her head on her mother's shoulder. "But I'll ask the hyungs if they can come and visit,"
The two parents considered the boys like the sons they never had, eternally grateful for looking after their daughter when she had been alone in Seoul at only fifteen. They had practically raised her, something which could not be thanked in words.
Juhee stared at the skyline from her parent's apartment. It overlooked the bustling city of Daegu, something which brought a smile to her face.
Seoul had been the city where Juhee, the K-pop idol and rapper had been born, but Daegu was the place where Hwang Juhee had formed.
Her home.
