Many Apologies

(Y/N) and Mirabel slowly opened their eyes, letting go of each other and stared down at the candle that was fading out in (Y/N)'s hand.

"No.." (Y/N) muttered as the candle's fire went out. The magic and Casita dying with it.

The furniture around them creaked and fell apart onto the ground. (Y/N) turned her head towards Mirabel, "I'm so sorry." She cried. "I tried."

Mirabel shook her head, wiping a tear the fell down her best friends cheek, "It's alright, it's not your fault (Y/N)." She whispered softly, giving her a reassuring look.

"(Y/N)!" A loud cry of her name broke the two best friends apart, seeing Camilo running full speed towards them, skidding onto his knees when he got close and brought (Y/N) into a hug. Her body slightly falling onto his lap and her arms wrapping around his waist.

"Milo..." (Y/N) cried out, her face being placed into the crook of Camilo's neck by his hand, feeling his fingers trembling as they tangled into her locks.

"I'm here, it's okay.. I've got you mi cielo." Camilo whispered against the top of her head, nuzzling his nose and fingers into her hair, his yellow ruana rubbing up on (Y/N)'s thighs to which she tightly grasped the material in her hands.

Camilo pulled back from the hug, gently cupping (Y/N)'s tear stained face in both of his palms, "Oh, my sweet girl." He choked a gasp, his heart clenching at the site of her crying face.

"Camilo!" Pepa's sudden call of his voice made the boy turn to look over his shoulder, seeing his mother needing him.

Camilo sighed softly, turning back to (Y/N) who watched his every move with glazed eyes. The boy smiled sadly, rubbing his thumbs over her cheeks gently, "I'll be back mi amor, don't go anywhere okay?"

(Y/N) didn't say anything but nodded into his hand making Camilo frown a little bit. He leant forward to connect his forehead with hers, brushing his nose against hers then pulled back and stood up.

Camilo gave the heart broken (Y/N) a tender smile, looking to Mirabel with a nod then turned to run off towards his mother.

"(Y/N)! Mirabel!" Julieta's worried shout was heard once Camilo was gone. The mother quickly running over towards her two children, cupping the side of their faces in her hands.

"Girls, are you hurt?" She questioned softly, rubbing her thumb over (Y/N)'s dusted cheek, while she stared back with teary eyes and a gloomy expression.

"We're okay mama." Mirabel breathed out, looking over to see her best friends expression which broke her heart to pieces.

Julieta didn't believe (Y/N) was alright, so she questioned gently again, "(Y/N)?"

The girl just looked dead ahead with that gloomy expression of hers, not answering her.

"Julieta, come quick!" Pepa's shouted in the distance, "Julieta!"

Julieta sighed, not wanting to leave her girls alone, "Don't move. I'll be right back." Once she firmly told them, the mother hurried off towards her sister.

(Y/N) looked over her surroundings, seeing the family all helping each other as the house around them was broken and a mess. A sob caught in her throat seeing Camilo far away looking like his entire world just collapsed on top of him, an expression different from moments ago. The girl feeling more responsible for all the damage caused to the family.

"I'm sorry." She whispered with her voice cracking to Mirabel and stood up quickly, running away.

"NO! (Y/N) come back!" Mirabel yelled, scrambling to her feet, about to go after her but (Y/N) was nowhere in sight. This caused tears to well up in her Mirabel's eyes.

"(Y/N)?" Julieta mumbled, not seeing her daughter anywhere, "(Y/N)! Where's (Y/N)?" She shouted now, gaining the attention of all the family members.

Mirabel run up to her mother in tears, "She's gone!, (Y/N) ran away because she thinks this is all her fault." The child cried, making her mother pull her into a hug.

"She's taking the blame when it's not even her fault," Mirabel cried into her mother's dress, "All she was doing was trying to help."

Julieta eyes watered hearing her other daughters words, "It's okay, I know it's not (Y/N)'s fault, it never was." She pulled back out of the hug, holding Mirabel's shoulders, "We're gonna find her come on."

As they family started looking for the lost child, Camilo was alone helping find (Y/N) though his heart ached inside his chest, wiping his tears away knowing how terrible the girl felt right now. He needed to find her fast, he needed to hold the girl tight in his arms and never let go again.

He needed to tell her that nothing was her fault and that everything would be okay. And that's exactly what he was going to do.

Find the girl who held Camilo's heart in her hands.

~

(Y/N) sat down on grass beside a flowing river, her knees to her chest, arms wrapped around them as she weeped with her head hidden in her arms.

Her mind having Camilo's lost expression playing over and over again, this making her sob even more.

"(Y/N).." Abuela called out quietly, the older woman finding her first.

The said girls head peeked up a little, sniffling, "I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt us. I just wanted you to see me as something I'm not." (Y/N) admitted, placing her head down again and cried.

Abuela sighed softly, taking a sit next to the crying girl, "I've never been able to come back here. This river is where we were given our miracle."

(Y/N) wiped her tears away, slowly glancing at Abuela remembering the story she was told about this place, "Where Abuelo Pedro.."

"I thought we would have a different life. I thought I would be a different woman... I was given a miracle. A second chance. And I was so afraid to lose it that I lost sight of who our miracle was for and I am so sorry. You never hurt our family, (Y/N). We are broken..." Abuela confessed, looking at the girl with tears, "Because of me."

(Y/N) stared at Abuela with a sad look, her attention being brought away by a certain yellow butterfly flying past the river, landing on the same water grass in Bruno's vision. She knew what this mean and acted.

"Abuela." (Y/N) was now in front of the her, rubbing her arm out of nervousness, "I can finally see." She reached her hands out for Abuela to gently take, making her stand up to pull her towards the butterfly in the river.

"You lost your home. Lost everything. You suffered so much all alone, so it would never happen again." (Y/N) blinked back tears, "We were saved because of you. We were given a miracle, because of you. The Madrigal's are a family, because of you. And nothing could ever be broken that we can't fix.. together." She stated, patting Abuela's hand that was in hers.

Abuela gave (Y/N) a small smile, then looked to the side, "I asked my Pedro for help." She smiled at (Y/N) again, reaching out to cup her cheeks, "My dear girl, he sent me you."

(Y/N) started crying as Abuela pulled her into a warm embrace, the two of them hugging while a bunch of yellow butterflies flew around them. The sky now becoming clear, lighting the entire area up.

Abuela pulled back, taking (Y/N)'s hand in her own, "I want you to know," She started, looking at (Y/N) with glossy, warm eyes, "That there isn't a single moment I regret taking you in when you were little." She said gently, wiping a tear away from the child's cheek, "You're part of the family just as much as everyone else is (Y/N)." Abuela paused, tucking a loose lock of hair behind (Y/N)'s ear, "And I'm so sorry for the way I've treated you and made you feel."

(Y/N) sobbed harshly, chuckling through them and leant into Abuela's touch, "That's all I've ever wanted to hear from you." She smiled watery and Abuela returned it, pressing a kiss against (Y/N)'s forehead, pulling the the girl close. The two of them watching the butterflies fly around.

The two of them eventually made it back to the river. A sudden voice making the two stop in their tracks, hearing a familiar voice speaking.

"She didn't do this!" Bruno came through the bushes on a horse in a hurry, "Kid didn't do this!"

Bruno stumbled his way off the horse, "I gave her a vision!" His foot got stuck making the male fall face first onto the ground, grunting in pain, "It was me!"

He got back up, spinning and pointing a finger at them, "I was like, 'Go!' and kid was, like..." He blew raspberries, "She only wanted to help. I don't care what you think of me, but if you're too stubborn to.." His sentenced got cut short when his mother almost knocked him over with a hug.

"Brunito." Abuela whispered, finally getting her son back after so many years.

Bruno blinked down at his mother, "I feel like I missed something important." He muttered.

(Y/N) walked past them with a happy smile, "Come on."

Abuela pulled back from the hug, grabbing her son's face and kissed him on the cheek, his cheeks becoming squished because of it. She then grabbed Bruno's hand with a smile and the two of them got up onto the horse (Y/N) was already on.

"What's.. what's happening? Where are we going?" Bruno stuttered a question.

(Y/N) exhales a breath, "Home." She took hold of the reins on the horse and made it start galloping fast.

Bruno wasn't holding on so it made the male yelp out, his hands and body flying as he almost fell off.

(Y/N) laughed loudly, all her worries washing away.
