Antonio's Gift Ceremony

A/N- I appreciate all the support i've been receiving with this book recently, thank you guys it means a lot <33 but anyways enjoy the chapter!!

It was now nighttime in Colombia, the Madrigals magic house filled with tons of people, music, laughs and talking as the ceremony was about to begin soon.

(Y/N) and Mirabel walked down the stairs with a nervous Antonio, walking to where his parents and siblings were.

The two girls waited a little bit away, watching the interaction. (Y/N) though, turned her head up to see Camilo already looking right at her, he gave her a smile, teeth and all.

(Y/N) smiled shakily back, not be able to handle having the boy stare her down for long.

"There you are." Felix interrupted the pair, arms stretched out wide seeing his youngest son.

"Look at you! All grown up," Pepa cooed to her son, not noticing the rain cloud growing over her head.

"Pepi, amor, you're gonna get him all wet." Felix shooed the cloud away, grabbing his wifes upper arms.

"You are making your papa proud." Camilo shapeshifted into his dad, imitating him and cupped Antonio's cheeks.

Felix became offended, "I don't sound like that."

"I don't sound like that." Camilo iminiated his dad's voice again, hands on hips.

(Y/N) had to hide her snort behind her hand at his act.

"Abuela says it's time." Dolores spoke up hearing Abuela call for them.

Pepa bent down a little to match her son's height, "We'll be waiting at your door."

"Okay, okay. Vamo, vamo, vamo." Felix ushered his family out of the room through the curtain.

"Okay, okay. Vamo, vamo, vamo." Camilo copied his dad, still shapeshifted to look like him.

(Y/N) giggled loudly. Camilo heard this and smirked to himself at the sound.

Suddenly Felix's hands grabbed Camilo and lifted him up, "All right, I'm done!" Camilo paincked, his normal voice back as his dad pulled him out of the room.

It was now (Y/N), Mirabel and Antonio left in the room, hearing music starting to play.

The curtain was pulled back and it showed Antonio standing there, the floor changing into a red carpet for the boy to walk down on. Everyone started to cheer.

Antonio took one glance around the crowd and started to freak out, not moving from his spot.

(Y/N) and Mirabel shared a confused look, staring back to see Antonio looking at (Y/N) with panicked eyes.

Antonio took a deep breath, reaching out one of his hands for the girl to take.

(Y/N)'s palm's became sweaty, shaking her head, "I can't."

"I need you." Antonio whispered in a small voice, hand still held out.

The (H/C) glanced back at her best friend, seeing her giving a reassuring smile and a nod of her head. Mirabel pushed (Y/N) towards Antonio, the light now shining down on her and grabbed a hold of the little boys hand tightly.

(Y/N) never felt so insecure when everyone there stared at her, silently judging her. She gulped big and squeezed Antonio's hand who squeezed back.

Unknowing to (Y/N), Camilo's heart fluttered rapidly in his chest at the way (Y/N) looked under the light shining down on her. He thought that she was the most beautiful angel he's ever laid eyes upon.

"Come on, let's get you to your door." (Y/N) whispered loud enough for the boy to hear.

Antonio smiled up at (Y/N) and clang onto her closely as they started to walk past the people and up to his door.

Once the pair arrived at the door, Antonio went up to Abuela and placed his hands on the magic candles side, while (Y/N) looked down towards the ground, trying to ignore all the judgmental looks she was receiving.

"Will you use your gift to honor our miracle? will you serve this community and strengthen our home?" Abuela asked the child who nodded his answer.

Walking up towards his door and slowly reached out to place his hand on the doorknob, the door started to glow a bright yellow and turned into his door.

A bird landed onto Antonio's arm, it started chattering at him and the young boy understood every word, "Uh-uh. Uh-huh. I understand you. Of course they can come!" He giggled as the bird moved around him and made a bird calling noise.

Then a bunch of other animals started piling in the house, most of them running up towards where Antonio was.

Abuela sighed in relief, turning towards the crowd, "We have a new gift!"

Everyone started cheering just as fireworks went off in the sky, brightening up the nighttime sky.

Antonio's door opened, the crowd following in seeing inside of his room which was a treehouse with a jungle around it. (Y/N) watched softly from the back, seeing how her favourite little boy got his gift.

Abuela was congratulating the boy, "We need a picture!" She called out, "Everyone! Come, Come, Come! It's a great night! It's a perfect night!"

The Madrigal family got together, posing for the picture and (Y/N) felt her heart shatter when the picture was taking, not for herself but for Mirabel who deserved to be in that photo. Feeling her heart break more when she caught Camilo's hazel eyes staring her down through the crowd. (Y/N) had to bite down on her bottom lip to stop it from trembling.

Time seem to freeze when (Y/N) started walking through the crowd, "Don't be upset or mad at all, don't feel regret or sad at all. Hey, I'm not a part of the family Madrigal.. I think. And I'm fine I am totally fine." She sang, voice breaking as she walked up towards her 'family'.

"We will stand on the side as you shine," (Y/N) breathed out shakily, "We're not fine, Mirable's not fine," The girl moved to each family member, "We can't move the mountains, We can't make flowers bloom We can't take another night up in our rooms waiting on a miracle. We can't heal what's broken. Can't control the morning rain or a hurricane can't keep down the unspoken invisible pain, always waiting on a miracle, a miracle."

(Y/N) ended up in front of Camilo, she reached out and cupped the side of his frozen in time face, "I've only ever wanted you to look at me for who I am," She sang sadly, "But I know you can't because I'm no miracle." (Y/N) gave one last look and let her hand drop from his face, turning her back from the party and left.

(Y/N) wiped the tears falling down her face, walking down the stairs and ended up in the middle of the house. She heard something fall against the floor, turning around to see a tile fallen.

She walked towards it, picking it up and inspecting the piece. (Y/N) moved her hand across it and ended up cutting herself, wincing from the scrap.

(Y/N) then noticed the ground tiles moving weirdly, "Casita?" She went to reach out a hand and suddenly the ground started to crack. (Y/N) stood up concerned, following the cracking.

The cracks went past the magical doors of the family, the lights starting to flicker, more so fading out and this made (Y/N) even more worried. Her eyes went wide seeing the cracks stop at the candle that gave the family their powers, the candle now flickering as well.

(Y/N) had to warn her family and she knew that Mirabel would be the only one to believe her.

"The house is in danger!" (Y/N) exclaimed, pushing past people in the party, ending up where Abuela was dancing with Pepa and Felix, "The house is in danger." She panted.

The music stopped as (Y/N) talked, all attention on the poor girl, "The tiles were falling, and there were cracks everywhere and the candle almost went out."

Just as (Y/N) finished her rant, everyone started murmuring amongst themselves and Mirabel made her way through the crowd to her best friends side.

(Y/N) looked at Mirabel who placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling, "I believe you, (Y/N/N)."

The (H/C) sighed shakily, patting Mirabel's hand thankful and turned back around to Abuela who was just staring in fear, "Show me." She ordered.

(Y/N) led Abuela down to where the cracks were suppose to be, squinting her eyes to look closer and saw them gone, "What? no that's.. the cracks were there. They were everywhere. The house was in trouble, the candle was.." (Y/N) stressed, angry tears forming in her eyes from feeling all those judgmental stares again.

"That's enough." Abuela snapped, she gave (Y/N) a disappointed look and turned back to the crowd, "There is nothing wrong with La Casa Madrigal. The magic is strong.  And so are the drinks." The crowd laughs at her joke.

"Please! Music!" Abuela clapped and the music started playing, bringing back the celebration.

The older woman left (Y/N) standing there at the bottom of the stairs alone.

(Y/N)'s eyes teared up more seeing Camilo at the top of the stairs, arms crossed looking down at her with glossy eyes, waiting to believe her but he as well turned around to leave the girl all alone.
