CHAPTER FIFTEEN ━━ damnation memoriae
OPHELIA sat on Scott McCall's bed, as she observed the boy in amusement. He had been working on his 'murder board' which to the Original looked dreadful and was an insult to Stiles Stilinski's work. She tilted her head watching as he stumbled across his room placing red strings in different directions connecting them to photo's and cases.
"Stiles' yarn is more . . ." Ophelia trailed off flicking a loose strand near her head. "Secure." She pursed her lips.
"I know. But-" He began, only for his sleeve to get caught around the string.
He narrowed his eyes at the strand, "Wait! Don't-" Ophelia shouted, but was to late. He yanked his arm away from the string. Ophelia slapped her hand on her forehead, watching as all the photos fell to the floor, alongside the blood red yarn he had spent an hour putting up. "-touch, that."
"He isn't going to forgive me." Scott frowned looking down at the mess he had made in his bedroom. Ophelia rolled her eyes sipping on her blood bag. "How many have you had today?" He questioned eyeing the blood bag she had in her hands.
"Four dad." She rolled her eyes at Scott's stern demeanour. With a sigh she spoke, "I'm in total control, and how do you expect him to so soon? You believed Theo over him." She bluntly said. The Alpha looked down with a frown, Ophelia sighed. She placed her hand on his shoulder gently. "You two will fix this. You always do." She spoke softly. Scott smiled at the red head, placing his hand on top of hers, looking in her doe eyes.
▂▂▂▂
OPHELIA walked through the front door of her house, to be greeted by luggage. Shutting the door behind her she walked further into her home with furrowed brows.
"Sister, darling." Rebekah greeted warmly wrapping her arms around her sister.
"Bekah, what's going on?" She asked with a frown.
"It appears our time here is up." She sent a sad smile to the red head, who frowned looking at their duffle bags then to her brothers.
"You are to call me-" Niklaus' voice rang throughout the house. "-every hour on the dot. If that boy dares to put his filthy hands on you, I will tear out his liver. Or I'll gouge out his eyes from their sockets. Which ever is more poetic." He threatened with a innocent smile on his plump rosie lips.
"I'll be fine Nik, I promise. Tell the kids I'll see them soon, and Caroline that I miss her." Ophelia smiled to her brother who nodded and kissed her forehead. Freya walked to her sister engulfing her in a hug. She then followed behind Rebekah and Klaus towards the Range Rover that was parked out in front of the house; loading them with their bags.
Elijah walked up behind his red headed sister. "You have not told him." He pointed out.
Ophelia glanced to her older brother swallowing down nervously. "What do you mean-"
"How many have you had today, Theia?" His stern eyes met her nervous eyes.
"Nine." She shamefully admitted. "But, I have it under control brother, it won't be like before." She whispered.
Elijah frowned, "I trust you, but you must be careful. If you need one of us to stay behind-"
Ophelia shook her head vigorously not wanting them to stay away from the kids any longer. "I will be fine Eli, if I need anything I will call. You do not need to worry about me, I can protect myself, I always have."
He nodded his head hesitantly, kissing her forehead, "We're here you know that. Always and forever, sister." And with that he left with the others. Ophelia watched them leave.
The hybrid walked towards the direction of her basement only to stop dead in her tracks. Smelling his scent. She sped over wrapping her hand around his throat, pushing him up against the wall, choking him.
"Give me one good reason, why I shouldn't rip out your spine?" She snarled in the Chimera's face.
"B-because, I k-kept my word. I would n-never hurt you, angel." He stammered struggling to breathe. Ophelia shoved him against the wall harder, his head bouncing back like a yo-yo.
"Don't you dare call me that. You filthy parasite. You'd never hurt me? That's hilarious because thats exactly what you did." She hissed. "You killed my best friend, killed Liam's girlfriend, held Stiles' dad hostage, took Lydia. You made Noah force me to drink blood on one of thee worst nights for a supernatural being. You used us all, for your own game. And now you have the audacity to look me in the eyes and say, 'you'd never hurt me?' I should tear out your eyeballs and feed them to you, or perhaps your heart." Her grip tightening around his neck.
Within a blink of an eye the hybrid was now pinned against the wall herself. "Stop!" He shouted, his eyes glowed gold, his broken eyes looking into her tired ones. "I wanted you safe, I didn't mean for you to-"
"Bullshit." She seethed. "What was Lydia? Collateral damage. What does that make me? Huh?"
Theo let go of the Original's wrists and looked into her furious eyes. "I didn't plan to come here and fall for you. My plan was to always have a pack. A family. We're the same, Lia-"
Ophelia narrowed her eyes at the boy. "Yeah, who cares who gets killed or hurt in the process right? You killed your sister. Your own sister, and for what? Power. We are nothing alike." She snarled in his face.
"Oh yeah? What about all those people you killed for fun? Hm?" The hybrid gulped. "Don't say your humanity was off, 'cause I know you enjoyed it. The feeling of power, the blood. We are exactly a like." He denied.
"I was a monster. If I could go back I would." She denied shaking her head.
"You hear that? That uptick in your heart? That was you lying, you may say you hate me, but you don't. You say you want to change what happened but you don't." He denied going to hold her small hand in his, she stepped back away from the blue eyed Chimera.
"That part of you that cared for me, is still there. You hate that you let yourself be vulnerable to me. A monster as you say, but you can't deny it, because I refuse to." He whispered mere inches away from the red head, twirling a curl away from her face.
"You're just like him." She whispered her voice wavering. Tears breaming her doe eyes.
Theo shook his head at her, "You know I'm not. I'm not like him." Swallowing a lump in his throat.
"You're exactly like him. Killing your sister for his own gain. He killed his children, for power. What makes you so different?" She spat to him.
"I can love-" He began.
"You don't know what love is. You don't know the first thing about feelings. You're nothing to me." She hissed, tears rolling down her cheeks. The Chimera reached up to wipe them away, she gripped his wrist. "I trusted you." She whispered. "And now, I won't hesitate to kill you." She threatened, venom laced in each word she spat out to him.
"You don't mean that, I can't lose you." He denied, looking at the Original with watery eyes. "You care, I know you do. Out of everyone, you see the best in them, you love hard. Like how you saw it in Stiles. How you saw it in Stefan-" A slap echoed through the house. Theo stumbled to the floor, holding his cheek.
"Don't you dare mention them. But you're right about one thing. I may love hard, but my hatred is just as lethal, do not underestimate me. And I get my temper from my father." She gritted out.
"Please, Lia-" His voice cracking, looking up to the hybrid with pleading eyes.
Ophelia turned on her heels ignoring the broken boy, she stopped in her tracks. Lifting her head up, staring straight ahead of her she spoke, "If you come after my family, I will rip you apart. And I will not stop until the town rains blood." She monotonously said. "You lost me the moment, you sought out to hurt them. You broke my trust. And now, I'll break your heart." With that she sped away.
▂▂▂▂
OPHELIA arrived to the school, meeting Mason and an angry Liam Dunbar. She had explained to the blue eyed beta what had happened before she arrived to the school over the phone. She needed to vent and Liam wouldn't stop asking what was wrong. Saying that it sounded like she had been crying, which was true. So she explained to the two teens what had happened. To say Liam was mad would be an understatement.
"He just showed up? Who the hell does he think he is? I'll-" Liam hissed.
"Easy there tiger." Mason joked to Liam. "But he's right, that's totally messed, O." Mason agreed with his best friend, who huffed.
"Don't worry, I gave him a detailed outcome if he were to harm any of you again. The Mikaelson way." She spoke proudly. Ignoring the ache she felt from her heart, she had felt since she spoke to him at her house.
"Doesn't make me okay with it." Liam mumbled. "And He brought them all back, and now Hayden is different. Josh is also alive. All because of Theo."
"That's what he's doing. Building a pack." Mason spoke in realization. "A pack of dead Chimeras."
"They look pretty alive to me. But they're not the same. There was something about Hayden. Something wrong." Liam explained.
"Maybe, thats what dying does to you. What if it, like, darkens your soul. Makes you evil." Mason guessed with wide eyes.
"I beg to differ. I've died multiple times and my soul is just as bright." Ophelia piped up, both boys shook their heads at the red head in amusement. They were interrupted by the sound of doors opening, revealing Corey.
"Hey, guys." He smiled happily.
"Here, we go." Ophelia mumbled as Mason nudged her. Liam's mouth gaped like a goldfish.
"Are you volunteering for the library clean up, too?" Corey asked happily.
"Yeah." "Yes." "Yeah." Both boys stammered.
Ophelia rolled her eyes at the two boys. "You both have got the vocabulary of a baked potato." She muttered. She smiled to the Chimera. "Of course we are Corey, lead the way." She smirked, linking arms with the Chimera. Who smiled to the red head walking with her towards the library.
If she's going to get to Theo, might as well start with the pack. Take one by one from him. Until he's left with nothing. Liam and Mason looked at her with wide eyes and confusion, stumbling after the Original.
▂▂▂▂
OPHELIA stood by Liam, listening in on Mason and Corey's conversation. "So . . . you're alive." Ophelia facepalmed as Liam squinted his eyes at the stupid question.
"Yeah." Corey nodded in amusement. Mason looked back to see Liam shoving his head in his hands, and to Ophelia who shook her head.
"That must, have been - uh, pretty difficult to explain to your - uh, parents." Mason said awkwardly.
"Not really. They didn't notice me much before that. I think they're just glad 'cause they think they can sue the hospital now." He joked. Ophelia looked to the two smiling softly. Liam looked over to the dazed red head and nudged her arm.
"They gotta be happy you're alive, though?" Mason titled his head.
"Are you?" Corey remarked, flirting to the doe eyed boy. Ophelia wiggled her eyebrows at Liam, who rolled his eyes at the Original.
"Me? Uh, yeah, I'm . . . alive is definitely better than dead. You know, much better." Mason stammered.
"You have no idea what to say to me, do you?" Corey asked in amusement.
"Not really, no." Mason shook his head in embarrassment.
"Can I ask you a question then?" Corey asked with a smile.
Mason scoffed and nodded."Yeah, sure."
Corey's face turned serious as he asked, "What are you doing Saturday night?"
Mason turned around looking at Liam and Ophelia with wide eyes and parted lips. The latter putting up two thumbs up, nodding eagerly with a wide smile.
▂▂▂▂
"HE's leaving what's the plan?" Liam asked worried.
"I have a date with him Saturday. I thought that was the plan." Mason retorted.
"No, you ghoul. You were supposed to ask about Theo. We can't wait till your date." Ophelia rolled her eyes at the boy.
"Sorry, but Theo leading an evil chimera pack wasn't a natural progression into the conversation." Mason remarked. Ophelia rolled her eyes at the two watching as Corey and the rest of the students left the library. "Fine, I'll talk to him." Both boys turned around to where Corey was, seeing him gone.
"Idiots." Ophelia mumbled.
▂▂▂▂
"COREY's, not texting me back." Mason told the two.
"Because he left with Theo." Liam said.
"Are you sure?" Mason questioned.
"Yes, his dreadful scent is here." Ophelia angrily retorted.
"Well then, we should do something, right? Tell someone." Liam bit his lip, not wanting to go to Scott.
"You have to tell him." Mason looked to the beta.
"You think he'll even talk to me?" He asked nervously.
Ophelia walked over to the younger boy. "He's your Alpha. You're his beta. Of course he will. He knows it wasn't your fault. It was the Supermoon, and Theo. Okay?" Ophelia reassured Liam.
"Where would I even start? 'Sorry for trying to kill you'? 'Sorry for leaving you for dead so that Theo could kill you'?"
Mason and Ophelia smiled softly to Liam. "If you start off with sorry, the rest wont even matter." Mason assured the beta. Ophelia pressed her plump lips to his forehead. Feeling a buzz from her pocket, looking down at her phone.

▂▂▂▂
"BOO." Ophelia whispered in Stiles' ear.
The boy dropped his flashlight shrieking in horror. "Lia!"
"You called, I came." She smiled innocently walking up to Scott.
"Thanks for coming." The Original nodded to the Alpha, as the trio walked down the corridors. "Hey, uh, Stiles, hold the light still." Scott asked. Only to hear a thud and grunts. The two looked back hearing hissing.
"Oh look, we ended up in a pet store." Ophelia rolled her eyes. Tracy snarled at the two. "Make this quick, anaconda. I have things to do." Ophelia rolled her eyes unamused, flicking her claws out. Her ambient/black eyes narrowed at the Chimera. She hissed, speeding over and knocking Tracy down, Scott not far behind.
"Guys, behind you!" Stiles yelled out.
Ophelia whipped her head to the left kicking Tracy in her stomach causing the girl to fly and hit the wall behind her. Tracy and Josh ran up to the Alpha and Original. Tracy scratched her stomach, 4 claw marks decorated the hybrid's shirt. "Bitch." Ophelia seethed. Grabbing the Chimera's hands she twisted them. A shriek was head from Tracy. as Scott held Josh back. Ophelia pushed Tracy forward digging her claws into the other Chimera, then throwing the two across the floor.
"Sucks doesn't it?" Stiles asked Josh.
Scott and Ophelia turned around growling, as Corey appeared.
"Okay!" Theo's voice rang through the halls. "Maybe they're not ready to take on an Alpha or an Original. Especially one's that can smell fear."
Tracy walked over to Corey, glaring at the Original who winked in return. "They have fangs." Corey widened his eyes fearfully looking from Scott to Ophelia.
"No shit Sherlock. And here I thought you were worthy enough for Mason." Ophelia joked.
"What did you do?" Scott asked, pulling Ophelia back by her forearm gently behind him.
Theo narrowed his eyes at the Alpha. "I found some new friends. I don't take rejection well."
"Could have fooled me." Ophelia piped up.
"Hey, Theo." Stiles greeted the Chimera through gritted teeth. Looking up at the Chimera.
"Stiles." Theo acknowledged. "You're going to leave here thinking that you need to worry about me. But you're wrong. We're actually back on the same side." Theo spoke up to the trio.
"Hm. I think that'll be justifiable when I tear you limb from limb, and feed them to your pack of mules. But tomatoes, oranges all the same." Theo glared at the Original, feeling hurt, shrugging it off he looked back to Scott.
"Hate me all you want. But that thing . . . that's what we need to worry about. Your pack and mine." Ophelia snickered at Theo's comment. Scott looked back at the Original, her smile faded. "We're gonna go back to school and pretend we're normal teenagers, but at night, we're going to be fighting for our lives."
"Why is it every time you speak, you sound like a motivational speaker. Bravo really, I feel inspired. Think maybe you should be fighting for your lives right now, except whatever that creature is won't be what will be hunting you down." Ophelia remarked with a raised brow. Stiles breathed out a chuckle, soon quieting down seeing the look on their Alpha's face.
"What is it?" Stiles asked.
"It's not a chimera." Theo shrugged.
"But it's just a kid underneath. Someone like us." Scott pressed.
"Not anymore."
▂▂▂▂
"HE knew what it meant and I can't remember the words." Scott mumbled.
"Demnatio Memoriae." Stiles and Ophelia spoke together in unison. Scott looked to the two quizzically. "It means the condemnation of memory. I think it also means whatever the Dread Doctors created, whatever this last Chimera really is. It's not something new. It's something old. Really old." Ophelia furrowed her brows.
"So they didn't create a new creature." Scott voiced out.
"They resurrected one." Stiles affirmed.
"We need help." Scott spoke to the two. "If Theo's got his own pack now, then we need ours. We have to get the others back."
"The others? You mean Kira who's currently battling a homicidal fox spirit inside of her, Malia who isn't speaking to either one of us, Lydia who's stuck in Eichen House, Ophelia is barley holding it together-" He looked over to the Original. "-no offence. And Liam who almost killed you?" Stiles spoke in disbelief.
"Also known as our best friends." Scott smiled.
"Okay, how?" Stiles questioned the Alpha.
"One by one." He nodded to the hazel eyed boy.
"You're not seriously going to make me do it?" Stiles asked in annoyance.
"You're part of the pack, right?" Scott asked.
"Okay." Stiles sighed tracing the pack symbol on the floor.
"I still hate that tattoo." Stiles retorted.
"I know." Scott chuckled, throwing an arm around the Original and his best friend.

yes Lia's family left, but they'll be back. Don't worry, they might even be helping a certain hunter. Also that scene with Theo and Lia literally had no idea what was going on with this chapter but that part really got me, you guys can see how Theo wants her, but she obviously doesn't want him now. Also peep those Riverdale lines with Cheryl Blossom.
