CHAPTER SEVEN ━━ arrogant boy

THE pack grew restless as they read The Dread Doctors book. Ophelia had her legs prompted up on Theo's lap, as she fiddled with her bracelet, whilst the werewolf read the book. Occasionally mindlessly tracing his finger tips lightly on Ophelia's bare legs; shivers erupted throughout her body.

"Anyone feeling anything yet?" Scott asked the group.

"Tired." Kira yawned lightly.

"Hungry." Ophelia mumbled, her cravings getting the best of her.

"I think he meant the book." Theo smiled at the hybrid beside him, who smiled sheepishly. She looked down at her phone going through her phone looking at the photos of the past summer. When she went home to New Orleans. Photos of her family, smiling faintly at a photo of an annoyed Caroline Forbes and a smiling Niklaus Mikaelson. She scrolled back seeing a photo of Issac and Erica. She bit her lip, not wanting to cry again. She hated feeling weak, and everyone in the room had been pitying her since her break down hours before.

She threw her legs off of Theo's lap, the wolf looked up to the Original in confusion.

She walked to the kitchen seeing Malia and Stiles intently speaking to one another. "Jeep died on me again. I went to check the engine, the hood fell on it." Ophelia and Stiles shared a knowing look discreetly.

"So, how much do you remember anyways? Both of you.. did it like play in your head like a movie or was it like being in it again?" Stiles questioned the two girls.

They both looked to one another. "In it." They both responded.

"Was it just the crash? And just Erica? Nothing else?" Stiles pressed.

Both girls glanced at one another, Malia walking over handing the hybrid a cup of coffee. "Nothing." Ophelia drank her coffee quietly, she glanced up seeing Theo tilting his head, to which she narrowed her eyes at.

▂▂▂▂

"WHAT if we need some kind of trigger? Malia was driving when she remember the crash." Scott questioned.

"Yeah but I ended up at the school, in my car. It happened at my house." Ophelia bit her lip as they walked down the hall to their classes.

"Yeah, but didn't she give you the bracelet not even a day before? Maybe your bracelet is what triggered yours." Stiles answered. Ophelia nodded solemnly.

"Okay, but how are we supposed to trigger a memory that we don't remember?" Kira asked.

"Maybe it's a delayed thing. Maybe you have to wait a couple of hours to see what happens." The lights above them flickered, the trio looked to a wide eyed Kira.

"That wasn't me, I swear." Kira defended herself.

"We keep an eye on each other today, okay?" Scott looked to the group. Who nodded in agreement.

"Yes, and keep an eye out for eight other potentially homicidal chimeras." Stiles spoke up.

"And the Dread Doctors." Ophelia concluded.

▂▂▂▂

"SO, while introducing the African cane toad sounded like a good way to deal with Australia's infestation of the grey-backed beetle." Mrs.Finch lectured to the class of seniors.

Feeling a pair of eyes on the side of her head, Ophelia looked up slowly turning around seeing Theo nod towards Sydney who sat in front of the Original and the banshee. With furrowed brows she looked to the girl who scratched and pulling out her hair. Ophelia looked down at her phone sending a text to Theo.

She looked up to Sydney seeing her pull out a chunk of her hair, Ophelia furrowed her brows. "Sydney?" She whispered to her. The brunette looked back to the hybrid as tears pooled in her eyes. She stood up placing one of the forms down on the desk and ran out of class. Ophelia widened her eyes and packed her books up quickly and sprinted to the door, only to be blocked by Mrs.Finch's hand.

"Ophelia, you know it's for the best." She nodded.

"Yeah, sure." The Original mumbled and ran out of the class after the girl, Lydia following closely behind.

"Ms.Mikelson! Ms.Martin!" The two heard Mrs.Finch call out to the two.

The two girls ran into the counselling office, to see Sydney crying. "I was just looking for your mom." She spoke, looking to Lydia. "I mean Mrs.Martin."

Both girls walked in, "Are you okay?" She showed the girls clumps of her hair in her hand.

"Does this look okay?" Ophelia gulped and shook her head.

"How long has it been happening for?" The Original questioned.

"Three years." She blinked.

"Years?" Both girls questioned.

Sydney sighed, "It's stress. I've tried everything. Medication, acupuncture, hypnosis." Ophelia bit her lip knowing she could help the girl in front of her.

"Let me see it? Maybe we can help cover it up?" Ophelia asked, Sydney nodded her head showing her head. Lydia gasped and fell backwards, hitting her head against the solid floor. Ophelia ran towards Lydia, helping the unconscious girl sit up. "Go get help." She demanded.

Scott came running in as did Theo, both boys looking down at the two girls. "It happened. I think she triggered it." She whispered to Scott, as Theo escorted Sydney away and walking back in closing the door behind him.

Ophelia bit into her wrist feeding Lydia her blood. "Come, on." She forced her blood down her throat. Theo eyed the Original with curious eyes. "Lydia." The banshee blinked, her eyes fluttered opened looking around seeing Scott, Ophelia and Theo in front of her.

"Are you okay?" Scott asked, glancing down to her shaking hands.

"I'm okay. I'm fine." Theo knelt beside Ophelia.

"You remembered something." Theo tilted his head to the side.

Lydia narrowed her eyes. "Not about the Dread Doctors. Nothing about them or the surgery."

"What did you see?" Ophelia asked. Both boys helping Lydia sit down.

"My grandmother. At Eichen House." The trio glanced at one another in confusion, as Mrs.Martin rushed in.

"Lydia! Oh my God, what happened? Are you alright?" She asked frantically.

"Mom, I'm fine. It was nothing." Lydia shrugged her mother off.

"Was it a blackout? Did you faint?" Natalia asked frantically.

"Yeah. I fainted. Mom, I'm fine. I promise."

▂▂▂▂

OPHELIA walked towards the bleachers, Liam had asked the Original to watch him practice earlier. Which she didn't mind, she enjoyed watching the beta and she also secretly enjoyed the sport. Liam glanced up smelling the familiar rose and vanilla scent, Ophelia smiled and waved to the beta. Liam smiled widely returning the gesture, almost getting hit in the face with the lacrosse ball. Ophelia giggled, turning on her heel. Her smile faltering seeing Brett and Mason talking to one another on the bleachers. She turned around abruptly smashing into a hard chest.

"Ow." She mumbled angrily. "Watch where you're-" The Original looked up seeing amused blue eyes. "Theo." She breathed out. "Sorry-"

He shook his head smiling down at the short red head. "No it's okay, I bumped into you." He shrugged.

"Uh, yeah. Sorry." She apologized again.

"Stop saying sorry, angel." Theo smiled brightly at the girl.

"Sorr-" She began, Theo smiled at the flustered girl. "Um, did you need something?" The hybrid asked, ignoring the nickname and the feeling she got with it.

"Yeah, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Ophelia furrowed her brows at his question. She looked over her shoulder seeing Liam and Hayden trying to beat each other, as everyone cheered them on.

"Um, I'm not sure I know what you mean." She looked back, meeting his blue orbs.

"About, telling everyone your memory..." He tilted his head, trailing off.

Ophleia looked down slowly and nodded her head. Plastering on a fake grin. "Yeah, I'm fine. Fine."

"Good, I'm happy you're okay. And not upset, if you ever need to talk. I'm here for you. I know you don't trust easily, like you said-" He smiled and chuckled, Ophelia faintly smiled. "-but, I want you to know that; I would never, ever, hurt you." He said firmly, sounding as if there was a second meaning behind it. She furrowed her brows at the tall boy, hesitantly nodding.

Before she could ask what he meant, a student ran on the lacrosse field yelling, "Anyone got an inhaler? Someones having an asthma attack."

"Scott." Ophelia whispered and looked to Liam who walked up next to the Original and Theo. Ophelia laced her fingers through Liam's and dragged him with her to where Scott was in the school.

Liam carried Scott's inhaler, as the two ran into the classroom which was surrounded by shocked students. "Move!" Ophelia shouted pushing people out of the way. The duo ran into the class, Ophelia and Liam knelt in front of Scott. She took his face in her hands gently, "Scott, hey. Focus on my voice."

Ophelia looked to Liam, the two nodded and glowed their eyes calling out to the Alpha. Snapping him out of his trance, he opened his doe eyes gasping for air, he quickly used his inhaler panting. "Thanks." He thanked the two gratefully.

▂▂▂▂

OPHELIA walked towards the school's workout room only to come to an abrupt stop seeing a very shirtless Theo Raeken. The Original gulped with wide eyes. She eyed his back muscles which flexed perfectly as he lifted the weights in front of him. She rolled her eyes, he definitely heard her coming. She thought to herself. Plastering on an unamused look, she made her presence known.

"Um, sorry, I was just, looking for Liam and Mason." She spoke up, steadying her heart rate.

"They aren't here, as you can see." He smirked through the mirror to the fidgeting red head.

"Right. Um-" She stammered.

"Some guy named Brett," He grunted lifting up the weights. "-was looking for you, he was also with Mason last, if I remember correctly." The wolf grunted as he lifted the weights, his muscles flexing, sweat glistened against his body.

"Did he say why?" She gritted her teeth and rolled her doe eyes.

"Nope." He popped the p, turning around with an amused twinkle in his eye.

"Well, thanks. Enjoy your-" She flailed her hands to the weights. "Whatever. And don't let it crush your skull." She mumbled walking towards the door.

"Wait." Ophelia turned around in confusion. He walked up to hybrid, reaching into his gym bag, and handed her a familiar silver chain. Her eyes widened like flying saucers looking down to her wrist seeing nothing there.

"Where-" She began.

"On the field. When you ran off with Liam." Theo explained, the chain dangled from his fingers.

Ophelia took the bracelet carefully, confusion danced in her eyes. "Why?"

"What do you mean why?" He chuckled. She narrowed her eyes at the boy.

"I mean why are you being so nice? Whats your game? You didn't tell Scott about Malia's memory either." She pressed, tilting her head. Not buying his generous act.

"She told you?" He asked the Original slightly shocked, taking small advances to the hybrid who stood her ground.

"Of course she told me we're best friends. We tell each other everything." She rolled her eyes.

"Did you tell her how, you know about what really happened with Stiles?" Theo tilted his head in a taunting matter.

Ophelia swallowed the lump in her throat and kept her heart beat steady. "I have no idea what you are talking about. Care to elaborate?" She feigned confusion.

"I heard you three talking at Scott's. And I also saw how you two looked at each other when she brought up his shoulder. His heart beat wasn't steady which means he lied, which also means you're hiding something from her and the pack." He raised a brow to the Original.

With a blink of an eye, Ophelia sped over to him gripping him by his throat. Theo choked out a cough. "You think you can threaten me?" She snarled at him, her hand squeezing his neck with a vice like grip.

"I-I'm not threatening you, I'm also not going t-to tell her or the p-pack." He grunted out, gripping her hand. She squeezed his throat harder.

"What do you want then?" Ophelia shoved him back harshly, letting go of his throat.

He let out a string of coughs. "I want in the pack." He looked up at Original with a smirk.

"It's Scott's choice, not mine." Ophelia shook her head.

"We both know Scott will listen to anything you say." Theo bit his bottom lip eyeing the Original, who avoided his predator like eyes. "If you want to tell Scott or Malia about what really happened, tell them. If you've got something else in mind, I'm okay with that too, angel." He walked closer to the hybrid, trapping her against the wall. His arms on both sides of her head. He bit his lip, his eyes glancing down to her soft lips. The two leaned in slowly. Ophelia looked into his eyes, then to his lips. Theo brought his hands down to her hips gently, then squeezing them pulling her closer to his chest roughly.

With one swift movement, Ophelia kneed him in the stomach, causing him to double over. With a swift kick she kicked his head, Theo stumbled back into the weights behind him. She sped over pressing the weights into his chest, he coughed profusely and looked up to the hybrid with wide frightened eyes.

"You ever disrespect me like that again, I will gouge out your eyes and feed them to you." She threatened, bringing her fingers to his eye and opened his eye wider. Theo panted and squirmed beneath the weights and her touch. Leaning down she pressed her glossed lips near his ear, "And that isn't a threat love, it's a promise." She whispered to the boy beneath her. With a swift jerk, she threw the weights down to the floor as it the clattered loudly, strutting away from the room. Theo grasped his chest watching the Original leave with a sly smirk plastered on his features.

▂▂▂▂

"WHERE's Kira?" Scott asked the two girls.

"Still in the library. Stiles and Lydia are at the hospital still to." Ophelia answered the Alpha. Walking with the others, her heels clicking on the floor, echoing the halls.

"Doing what?" Theo asked.

"Lydia's trying to figure out what happened during her surgery. In other words, Banshee things." Ophelia explained. Rolling her eyes still annoyed with the boy from what happened in the gym room earlier.

"How long are they going to be there?" Theo asked.

"They said they're just waiting for the power to come back on." Malia answered.

▂▂▂▂

"YOU two go find Stiles and Lydia, Malia and I will go find my mom." Scott directed Theo and Ophelia. Who both nodded and rushed down the hall.

Ophelia came to an abrupt stop hearing growling. Theo turned to the hybrid in confusion and worry. "The roof." She spoke and sped past him.

Ophelia slammed open the roof top doors, seeing a Chimera on top of Stiles. With a growl she sped up behind him and threw the Chimera off of the human. Theo fought against the boy, as Ophelia held Stiles against her smaller body, the duo watched Theo fight the Chimera.

The Chimera stomped on Theo's hand crushing it. Releasing a roar from the boy beneath him. Ophelia released her claws once more and sped over biting into the Chimera's neck, only to cough up mercury and vervain. The Chimera whipped Ophelia across the roof landing next to Stiles who picked her up pulling her towards him away from the two. Theo stood back up, choking the Chimera his hand gripping it's neck, with one movement he ripped his throat apart instantly killing the kid they were supposed to save.

"You, can't say anything. Please don't say anything." Theo looked to the duo who watched with wide eyes.

"Why not?" Stiles questioned the wolf.

"Because, I never said anything about Donovan."
