CHAPTER TWO ━━ dreamcatchers
OPHELIA, Kira, and Lydia sat with Malia in her new car attempting to teach the were-coyote how to drive. The girls had decided to teach the brunette how to drive, seeing as she was turning eighteen and didn't get to learn sooner due to her being a were-coyote for majority of her life. Lydia sat beside Malia in the passenger seat fixing her rear view mirrors. Kira and Ophelia sat in the back seat praying the coyote wasn't going to kill them. Ophelia couldn't be killed theoretically speaking; but she didn't feel like having her friend's get wounded or worse.
"Okay. Hands on the wheel, at 10 and 2." Kira directed Malia, who did as she was told.
Only for Lydia to speak up correcting the kitsune. "Actually, the recommended position is now 9 and 3. At 10 and 2 a deployed airbag could break your thumbs." She stated as a matter of fact to the brunette.
Malia looked to the strawberry blonde in confusion. "Mine would heal."
"Save your strength M." Ophelia piped up, with a nervous smile. Kira looked to the Original in worry.
"And try not destroy your new car. 9 and 3." Lydia added, fixing Malia's hands in the proper position.
"Alright. Just ease into it. Good, good okay. There you go." Kira smiled proudly, as Malia drove slowly down the road.
"Please shut up." Malia demanded, through gritted teeth.
"No problem. Shutting up." Kira nodded, nervously sitting back beside the hybrid.
"Malia, other way." Ophelia piped up nervously seeing the coyote drive on to the dirt road. "Malia the road is for driving, not the dirt." Ophelia added on, glancing around the car seeing they were entirely off the road and onto the side of the road.
"This is not the road." "Other way." Lydia and Kira called out in unison.
"Malia the bloody car!" Ophelia exclaimed.
"What is that? What is beeping?" Malia furrowed her brows looking around the car for the strange beeping sound, echoing in her car.
"The car is telling you not to hit the tree which is directly in front of us." Ophelia spoke up, pointing to the woods that now surrounded them to the left. Ophelia sat up quickly from the back seat, and reached over swerving Malia's steering wheel back on to the road. The car lurched roughly to the right.
"Try to stay on the actual road." Lydia piped up, clutching her seatbelt to her chest. Malia stepped on the gas, resulting in the Original to fly back and hit her head against Kira's, who groaned as did Ophelia. "Just turn up here."
"Bloody hell." Ophelia mumbled rubbing her temple.
"No, no slowly." Lydia directed.
"Anybody wanna tell me where we're going?" Malia asked in confusion, looking around the car.
"The school. We can finish with parking practice." Lydia nodded in a daze to Malia. Ophelia looked to Kira in confusion.
"The school is the other way, Lyds." Ophelia piped up.
"What?" She asked with furrowed brows.
"We're heading downtown, if we were going to the school we'd have to have make a U-turn." Kira explained to the banshee.
"No. Keep going." Lydia demanded.
The four arrived to what looked like an abandoned factory. Ophelia squinted her eyes seeing an accident up ahead. She looked around the carnage seeing the bodies of officer's bleeding out. Ophelia sped over biting into her wrist and feeding the men her blood, as Kira called for an ambulance.
After sometime the cops and an ambulance helped take the injured away. Ophelia stood with the girls beside the Sheriff and Stiles, as Scott radioed in, "I found Donovan, he's completely freaked out. He keeps saying a name."
"Theo." Stiles mumbled from beside Ophelia.
"Tracy. He keeps saying Tracy." Scott's staticy voice rang through the talkie. The girls narrowed their eyes at the girls name.
"Tracy who?" The Sheriff asked in confusion.
"Stewart. Tracy Stewart." Lydia affirmed.
▂▂▂▂
"TRACY wasn't just having trouble sleeping, it was a real disorder. It was night terrors." Lydia explained to the pack, who all stood around Stiles' jeep.
"Well, now she's the night terror, especially since no one can find her. Okay I know we're all tired and miserable-" Scott spoke, the group all turned to an energized Mason Hewitt who bounced on the heels of his feet with a wide smile. "-except for you."
"Oh. I'm sorry. This is all just mind-blowing. You're a kitsune, I don't even know what that is." Mason smiled widely to the brunette.
Kira looked towards Mason, "I'm still learning.." She mumbled shyly.
"Liam, we said you could tell him. Not invite him to the inner circle." Stiles sighed out at the beta, who looked down sheepishly.
"Uh, I'm in the inner circle?" Mason asked excitedly.
"No." Liam and Stiles said simultaneously.
"Guys, look, back to Tracy. She's just one lone wolf. We can find her." Scott affirmed.
Malia looked towards Scott, "One lone serial-killing wolf." Ophelia looked down fiddling with her bracelet, feeling slightly ashamed. Liam grasped her hand assuring her it was okay, even though she know it wasn't.
She knew the comment wasn't directly aimed for her. And she knew the pack had looked past what she's done. But she still feels ashamed of it. She envied the packs innocence. Sure Malia has killed but it was an accident, Ophelia's kills were done out of remorse and or to protect her loved ones. She would always put those she loves first. And nothing could ever change that, it's all she knew.
"Uh, she only killed one person, you know. The other two were mauled. What do we do when we catch her?" Stiles raised his finger to his girlfriend.
"I say we put her down." Malia bluntly stated, Ophelia nodded her head in agreement. She didn't want to risk having her running around potentially killing more innocents. The pack all looked to one another, Liam squeezed Ophelia's small hand shaking his head. Ophelia looked to the pack shaking her head no.
"...Intense." Mason spoke up with wide eyes, nodding his head to the pack.
"Guys, lets concentrate on catching her first. We'll figure out the rest later." Scott announced.
▂▂▂▂
OPHELIA sat by Lydia in Biology class, looking down at her test score, smiling at the 96% written in blood red ink. Ophelia looked to her left as Mrs.Finch spoke with Scott. "Nice to see where your priorities are, Scott." She complimented placing his test down on his desk. Ophelia looked over nodding to his test smiling widely, Scott's cheeks tinted a light pink showing the Original his test score 84% written in the corner of the sheet. "Since you have such a good grasp of the subject, how about you lead us in a review of last night's reading?"
His smile dropped. "Uh, sure." The class waited for Scott to read the portion she had asked him to, only for the two to glance up seeing Liam frantically waving at the door. Ophelia pointed to her ear so Liam would speak from there.
"Scott." Mrs.Finch tilted her head at alpha who nodded.
"Yeah once sec, sorry." He apologized.
"She's here. She's in History class right now. Tracy." Liam whispered frantically.
Ophelia bit her lip, and raised her hand to be excused. "May I be excused." Mrs.Finch nodded. Ophelia picked up her things and walked out the class hurriedly, unaware of Theo's stare on the two.
Ophelia and Liam walked down the hall to the fire drill, Liam pulled the lever. Scott came running out of the classroom towards the duo. Ophelia grabbed Scott's hand dragging him to the History class. Seeing Tracy breathing heavily, gripping the school desk, as a girl named Hayden stood by wary of the girl asking if she was okay. Tracy then gripped Hayden's wrist, causing the Alpha and the Original to approach the two carefully.
"Tracy?" Ophelia softly spoke up. Tracy stood up breathing heavily, in a daze. "Tracy, let go of her." Ophelia demanded.
"They're coming." Tracy whispered. She let go of Hayden's wrist. "They're coming for all of us." Tracy collapsed to the floor, silver liquid pooled from her lips on to the floor. Scott grabbed a hold of the girl, and ran out of the school to the vet, to Deaton.
Liam and Ophelia walked towards Kira and Lydia. "They're going to go see if Deaton can figure out what's wrong with her, I'm heading there soon." Ophelia filled the two girls in.
"What's wrong with her is that she killed two people. Her father and, according to Parrish, her psychiatrist." Lydia whispered.
"Isn't there anyone else we can talk to? Any family left?" Kira asked. Liam and Ophelia shook their heads.
"An Alpha." Lydia piped up. "She's a werewolf right? She has to have an Alpha. Anyone know if a new one's moved to Beacon Hills?"
"No, but there's an old one. One of the oldest. And we know her." Ophelia stated to the group. Liam gritted his teeth, "And her pack." Ophelia smirked.
▂▂▂▂
THE trio stood on the field of Devenford Prep high, looking for a specific werewolf. Ophelia had spoken to Lori Talbot the moment she had arrived, asking for her older brother and catching up with the young wolf. The blonde wolf had quickly become a good friend of the Original's; she reminded her of herself when she was younger, and she admired the younger girl.
Mason, Liam and Ophelia stood off to the side of the lacrosse field observing Brett as he practice lacrosse. He looked towards the trio and smiled widely at them. Liam glared at the two beside him who looked admiringly to the attractive boy.
"So, he's a werewolf too?" Mason asked in awe, watching the boy run across the field shirtless. Ophelia nodded with a smirk to the boy beside her. "This just gets better and better."
The trio waited for Brett, who jogged over after excusing himself from his team mates. "Ophelia." He greeted with a soft kiss on the back of her hand. Ophelia suppressed a smile, seeing as how they two hadn't spoken much since their incident weeks back.
"We need to talk." Liam spoke up with gritted teeth, interrupting the two's moment. Ophelia rolled her eyes, as Mason looked to Brett in a daze. Liam pulled out his phone from his sweater pocket and handed the phone over to Brett; revealing a photo of Tracy Stewart.
"Cute. But never seen her." Brett commented, with a shake of his head.
"Could Satomi have turned her without you knowing?" Liam asked the boy.
Brett shook his head, "After the dead pool. Satomi's not exactly doing much recruiting." He bitterly chuckled.
"That's how it works?" Mason questioned Brett in awe, "Alpha werewolves just go around biting people?"
"Or you can be born like me and my sister, or like Ophelia and her brother. Satomi took us in after our family died in a fire." Brett explained, Ophelia rubbed the wolf's arm gently receiving a small smile in return at the gesture.
"Guys, I think I just found something." Liam spoke up looking down at his phone. Ophelia glanced down seeing Liam zoom into Tracy's necklace. The four decided that Liam and Brett would go find the hole he had fallen in the night they had spied on Theo Raeken. Ophelia bid a farewell to go meet the pack at the animal clinic.
▂▂▂▂
"YOUR favourite Original has arrived, your lives just got better." Ophelia joked walking in, as the other's smiled to the hybrid. Ophelia glanced over to Tracy's body seeing something in her neck move beneath the surface. "Ew." Ophelia scrunched up her nose in disgust.
"Well this is interesting." Deaton poked her neck. "Malia, Ophelia help me turn her over please." He asked the two girls who did as they were told.
"I think I know what she is.." Stiles spoke up.
"Care to enlighten the rest of us? Because this doesn't look too good." Deaton piped up looking down at the girl. The pack looked down to her back to see it move like a serpent beneath the layer of skin. With one swift movement, Tracy's back slit in half spurting black goo to the group.
"Seriously!" Ophelia shrieked looking down at her now bloodied clothes. She glanced over to Tracy's spine which let out her tail cutting Stiles resulting in the boy to collapse to the floor with a grunt. Next was Ophelia, Deaton, Malia, and Scott. Ophelia fell face first, her body facing the back wall of the clinic. The group grunted in pain, as they stayed paralyzed.
"Bitch is a bloody kanima!" Ophelia exclaimed in frustration and anger; her face plastered to the floor.
"Hey, Deaton, how the hell did she get through the Mountain Ash?" Stiles asked in irritation.
"I don't know. It's a barrier no supernatural creature should be able to cross." He explained.
"Scott did it." Stiles pointed out.
"Once, and it almost killed me." Scott grunted out.
"We should have killed her." Malia spoke up groaning in pain.
"I second that." Ophelia angrily mumbled.
"Meanwhile, she's probably on her way to killing someone else." Malia muttered.
"Listen, everyone. We need to concentrate. Scott, Malia, and Ophelia, you three will probably be able to move first long before Stiles and I can. But you need to focus." Deaton assured the group.
"Focus on what?" Malia heaved.
"Healing." Scott answered.
"That's right." Deaton nodded to the true alpha.
Ophelia gritted her teeth tuning the group out. To calm her erratic heart rate and body down. She glanced down to her wrist which carried her charm bracelet, the hybrid furrowed her brows and imagined it moving, mumbling, "Henrik Mikaelson, Finn Mikaelson, Erica Reyes, Allison Argent, Stefan Salvatore, Lorenzo St.John-" She repeated through pants.
Ophelia snapped out of her daze hearing Stiles speak up, "Okay, pretty sure I just felt my right leg move." He happily said, with a grunt. "Uh, yep, definitely felt it. Like a twinge, spasm, something." He groaned out.
"I'm going to have to disagree. And I think I hold an informed opinion." Deaton denied. Ophelia groaned, and huffed out a sigh. Blowing her hair from her sweaty face.
"Malia." Scott spoke up.
"I don't think she cut me that deep." Malia breathed out.
"Keep going M, breathe in and out. In and out." Ophelia calmly spoke to the coyote.
"In and out. In and out." Malia repeated groaning.
"What's happening I can't see?" Stiles asked frantically. "What's happening? Malia?"
"Malia wait for us!" Ophelia shouted, hearing her stumble into the table beside her.
"Malia she's not a werewolf." Scott called out.
"But she has a scent. I can find her." Malia remarked.
"Malia, save her." Scott demanded, watching the coyote sprint out of the clinic.
"Malia? Wait-" Ophelia grunted out, "She's gone isn't she?" She asked.
"Uh, huh." Stiles hummed.
▂▂▂▂
"WHAT did the human say when the vampire-" Ophelia started but was interrupted as a door opened and shut. Heavy footsteps were heard. Ophelia furrowed her brows in confusion, she sniffed the air smelling his cologne, Ophelia rolled her eyes, she had hoped it were Malia or Liam.
"Oh, thank God." Stiles spoke up, with a grunt. "Never mind, it's him." He rolled his eyes in annoyance, as Theo helped him stand. Theo walked over to the Original and helped the red head up, gripping her waist, hoisting her up. He smoothed out her hair from her face, receiving the Original to slap his hands away from her face and body, she stumbled into the operating table. Stiles stifled a chuckle, upon seeing the glare on the girl's face he pursed his lips.
"How did you find us?" Scott asked the wolf.
"You work here. I heard about Tracy, I've been looking for you." Theo said.
"We lost her. And Malia." Scott explained.
"I can help." Theo offered with hopeful eyes. Ophelia rolled her eyes, as Stiles groaned.
"This is Theo?" Deaton asked the annoyed duo, who nodded.
"Let me help. It doesn't have to mean I'm part of the pack. Or like you've accepted me or anything like that. I just means I can help catch this girl." Theo bargained to the alpha. Scott looked at Stiles and Ophelia, who nodded hesitantly. "Scott." Theo called out. "I can help you."
▂▂▂▂
THE four arrived to the sheriff's station, Ophelia sped in nearly shattering the doors in the process. The four helped the wounded stand, sniffing the air she smelled blood. Lots of it. But also a familiar florally scent filled her nose. Ophelia widened her eyes, letting Scott tend to the man in front of her. She stumbled behind Stiles, looking over his shoulder she spotted her best friend bleeding out on the floor, Theo walked in after her watching the scene unfold.
The Original bit into her wrist mumbling 'no' as her eyes watered. She sped over where Kira was behind Lydia, taking her head into her lap. Moving her strawberry blonde hair away from her paling face. "Not you. Please not you to." She mumbled forcing her blood down Lydia's throat. "Drink." She demanded, tilting Lydia's head in her lap. Lydia groaned and slowly opened her eyes, grasping her best friend's wrist drinking. Theo and Stiles looked at the hybrid who sobbed over the strawberry blonde, in shock and sadness.
She sighed in relief as Lydia sat up weakly. The two embracing on another, both sobbing quietly into one another's arms. Not caring that one was covered in blood. "I can't lose you to." Ophelia mumbled into her shoulder.
"You won't." Lydia promised.
"Lia, they have to take her to the hospital, people watched her almost die, we have to let them take her." Theo said softly, startling the Original She hadn't noticed he made his way beside her during the girl's moment. He placed his hand gently on her shoulder, Ophelia met Theo's gaze and nodded her head.
"Stiles get Tracy, help her." Lydia looked up tiredly to Stiles. The two best friends ran off to the basement to find Malia, as Ophelia held onto Kira and Lydia's hands.
The paramedics entered the station getting a hold of Lydia and the wounded. Ophelia stood off to the side. Observing her surroundings with careful eyes. If they were late her best friend could have been dead, she already lost Allison; she couldn't bare losing Lydia too.
Theo made his way over to the Original who stood quietly in thought. "She'll be okay." He whispered to her. "You saved her." He offered a smile to the red head.
"I know. But if we didn't get here in time, who knows how long she would have had." She mumbled fiddling with her bracelet. The two looked in to each other's eyes; brown meeting blue. For a what seemed like hours she broke her gaze first, and looked towards Scott, Liam, and Stiles. She walked up to the trio, who had agreed to all go after Lydia to the hospital.

my poor babies, so as you can see she is extremely attached to the pack, and would be heart broken, if anything happened to them. (She sees them as her family)
also her and Brett may like each other...
Btw Brett deserved better.
