CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN ━━ epilogue

OPHELIA stood in her bedroom, placing her school books into her purse. Since what had occurred months ago the red headed Original had gotten back on her feet, and to her normal routine. No threats had crossed the McCall pack since they had taken down, The Beast and Theo Raeken.

Mason was back to normal, happily with Corey. Liam was happily dating Hayden. Kira had left to learn how to be a proper kitsune with the skin-walkers, still keeping touch with the pack of course. Lydia was back to her normal self, as normal as a banshee can be. Malia had been planning out her's and Ophelia's travelings after the two graduate. Scott and Stiles were back together; everything was right in the town of Beacon Hills, once again.

A pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her waist. Giggling she looked up, being met with icy blue eyes, mirroring her doe ones. "I have to get to school." She mumbled.

Brett smiled, and kissed her shoulder. "I know, me too. Text me if anything happens-actually call me. Texting takes too long, and if you're in danger-" Ophelia rolled her eyes at the wolf's protectiveness. Brett smirked and kissed her temple softly.

"I just want you safe." Brett turned the Original around. The wolf brought his fingers up to the side of her cheek placing her hair behind her ear. "We're okay now. But that still doesn't mean I won't worry about you." Ophelia looked down, pink tinting her cheeks. "I always will."

After finding out what the McCall pack had endured with the Dread Doctors; Theo and Mason. Brett hadn't left the Original's side. Her brother's were back in New Orleans, leaving the hybrid alone in her home, occasionally when her friends weren't checking up on her since what had happened.

She acted like nothing happened. It's as if it never happened, as if Theo Raeken never existed, if you were to ask her friends. But Ophelia knew him, she fell for him. The wall she had put up, slowly crumbled. No one knew what she actually had been doing in her free time. Brett thought she'd be over at her best friend's house; Malia or Lydia. Where as the pack thought she was off with Brett.

Oh how they were far from the truth.

"I can take care of myself." She confidently stated.

Brett smiled to the red head, "I know you can. I just-can't help but worry." He admitted, his cheeks tinting pink.

"Is Brett Talbot; cocky lacrosse player, Devenprep's golden boy. Being soft?" Ophelia raised a teasing brow to the blonde.

Brett shook his head with a smile, "Only you can make me like this." He shyly looked away from the red head. "And maybe Ms.Malano, from English class third period." He joked.

Ophelia gaped at the boy removing his strong arms from her waist. Brett bursted into fits of chuckles, "I'm kidding!" He walked out of her bedroom, beside the red head down her staircase. Brett came to a stop, intertwining his hands with her small one, pulling her into his chest as he looked down into her doe eyes. "I will always care for you. And I will always worry about you."

"I will too." She kissed his cheek quickly with a smile. Brett nodded with a small frown, but nodded nonetheless not wanting to upset the doe eyed girl he had quickly fallen for. "Now, we have senior year to finish."

"You already graduated twice." Brett chuckled smiling to the red head as the two exited her house.

"Still need to finish here. And so do you, now get your butt to school." She rolled her eyes to the wolf playfully, and made her way down her walk way seeing Malia and Lydia already parked in front of her house with wide smiles gazing at the two. Brett sighed watching her go, waving to the three girls as they left.

"WIPE that smirk off your face." Ophelia rolled her eyes, smiling at the blue eyed boy in front of her.

"You adore my stupid smirk." He cockily remarked, removing a curl from her face. Ophelia leant into his touch, sighing in content.

"I do." She admitted. Theo smiled down at the hybrid. Soon his smile faltering.

"This isn't real, O." He mumbled softly, his hand gently caressing her cheek. Ophelia fluttered her eyes shut.

"I know. But-" She began but shook her head. Walking away from his touch, towards the table which consisted of herbs she had taken from her sister Freya's garden. While visiting Freya, Keelin, and Margo; She might of taken a few gifts with her, that her sister did not know of. "This, is keeping me sane." She mumbled.

"Sane?" Theo chuckled. "You've been talking to a ghost, for months. I'm-" he began.

"Don't." She growled. Her hands shaking slightly, as she put away the herbs.

"Dead." He whispered in her ear. Ophelia shuddered, gnawing on her bottom lip, preventing tears from falling. "You're killing yourself, angel." Theo's breath hit her exposed neck. "You need to let go."

Ophelia opened her eyes, growling lowly. She threw the bowl of herbs where Theo once stood. The bowl shattered into pieces on the floor. She ran her hands through her long hair in anger pulling the strands. "What's happening to me?" She heaved.

Ophelia sobbed, falling to the floor, clutching her knees to her chest. Theo walked over and sat beside the hybrid, "I'm just your conscious. I say what you want, when you want." He kissed her shoulder softly. "You know this is wrong. You need to quit this."

"I can't quit you." She mumbled, as tears streamed down her cheeks. Theo placed his arm around her shoulders, and kissed the crown of her head.

"Then don't." He whispered to the red head stroking her hair.
