Kathy's Past - Part 1
I woke up early in the morning by my radio alarm clock. I was about to hit the top of the alarm to let the noise stop, but then I recognized the song and decided to let it play. It was not often they played songs from Fall Out Boy on the radio, especially this early. Ah well, I didn't mind.
I got out of my warm bed and put on my favourite clothes: denim jeans and a red and black striped shirt, while singing along.
"Hey young blood, doesn't it feel like our time is running out? I'm gonna change you like a remix, then I'll raise you like a phoenix."
I tied the white shoelaces of my black converse and waited till the song was over before I put out the alarm and teleported downstairs to the kitchen.
"Kathy!" Logan called in shock and I grinned. I knew he didn't like it when I teleported towards everywhere, he claimed it gave him little heart attacks when I suddenly appeared. Ridiculous of course, the Wolverine cannot get heart attacks.
"How many times must I say... You can also use the stairs!"
I rolled my eyes. "What's the fun in that? Besides, I was already late."
He snorted while he stirred his cup of coffee. "You're funny. Classes don't start for another hour."
"Yes, well. I'm a growing girl. I need my time to eat breakfast," I said, dramatically flipping my black hair over my shoulder and Logan chuckled. He pointed with his thumb back over his shoulder, it looked like breakfast was already served. I quickly walked towards it and filled my plate with scrambled eggs, a few pancakes and a bagel.
"Nice combo," Logan commented and I stuck out my tongue and sat down at the kitchen table. I didn't care about that, I was hungry.
Logan sat down in front of me, sipping of his coffee while I ate as if I was starving.
"Have you heard something from my father?" I asked him between some bites but Logan shook his head.
"No, sorry kiddo. But I'm sure he'll be back for your birthday."
I suppressed a sigh, I never liked it when my father left to go on a mission for the X-Men. But I supposed that was just part of his job and when I was old enough, I was planning on joining them. Wait... I blinked a few times, my birthday? A smile grew on my face, I was turning sixteen next week!
"What's your first class?"
I stopped chewing, trying to remember my schedule. "History, from professor X."
"He doesn't like to be called professor X."
I shrugged and continued to eat. "It's easier to say than professor Charles Xavier."
"How do you all call me?" he asked curious.
"Just Logan."
"Well, thanks," he muttered.
"You're not exactly a professor," I pointed out and he gulped the last bit of his coffee. I had finished my breakfast and we talked a bit more until it was time for me to go to my first class of today. Without a warning I teleported away, back to my room to grab my backpack with the books and I was quite sure Logan was now screaming at nothing. Angry I used my gift again. I smirked by the thought of it and swung the black backpack over my shoulder. I pictured the classroom in my head and in a dark grey cloud I disappeared again.
"Miss Wagner. You do not need to use your powers all the time," professor X said to me when I fell out of the cloud. He hadn't even looked up from his papers, he just knew it was me. But then, I probably was the only one here at the moment who was able to teleport.
I tapped with my tail against my chin, pretending to think about that. "Actually I do, professor. Do you have any idea how big this school is?"
He looked up from the papers. "I do, miss Wagner." He nodded with his head to the school desk in front of him and I sat down. I took out the books and not much later the other gifted students started to enter the classroom.
I smiled at Rogue when she sat down at the desk next to mine. Bobby and John sat down at the desks one row behind us.
It was precisly eight thirty when professor X closed the door with his mind, and he pushed his weelchair away from his desk. He started to talk and I listened very carefully. I had always been willing to learn more about mutants but after half an hour I suddenly felt a poke in my back. I turned my body a bit sideways and looked over my shoulder to find out who had poked me. Of course it had been John.
"What's up, Pyro?" I whispered, hoping professor X wouldn't notice.
"Wanna pull some pranks after class?" he asked with sparkling eyes and I grinned.
"Of course!"
"Miss Wagner and mister Allerdyce, please pay attention," professor X said and I immediately turned my attention back at him.
"Sorry, professor," I apologized and John muttered something too. The professor continued but my attention was drawn back to the two boys behind me when Bobby hissed something against Pyro.
"Put that away! You'll set something on fire!"
"You're such a whiner," John sighed and I heard a click. I glanced over my shoulder and rolled my eyes when I noticed the Zippo lighter which he always carried with him.
"Put that away, Pyro," I shot at him when he continued to play with it. "I don't want to get my ass on fire."
He smirked at that comment. "You're sure?"
"Miss Wagner and mister Allerdyce, please report to me after class."
Dammit... I let out a sigh and shot an angry glare at John. "Thanks, knucklehead."
He winked and I rolled my eyes, turning my attention back to professor X. Somehow Pyro always managed to get us in trouble but not that I did any better, I was quite the troublemaker too myself.
After class John and I reported to professor X and we apologized ourselves for our interruption during class.
Professor X dismissed us and we ran off, planning our next pranks at our fellow students.

A/N: Well, that took me longer than expected. I'm terribly sorry but I had two important exams last week. Hopefully I passed them.
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! :)
Why Pyro, you ask? Well, because I think he's cool... before he joined the Brotherhood...
