December 2nd - Part 3

* Diamond's POV*

Once again I'm greeted by Jarvis when I enter the Avengers Tower. I was invited by Elizabeth but I have no idea what we're going to do. Probably just chilling and watching Netflix, or something like that. I step inside the elevator and just when the doors are about to close, a blue flash shoots between it.

"Pfew, that was close," Pietro says when he stands next to me. Suprised I stare at him, I didn't know he would be coming. "Almost got stuck between the doors, that would've been awkward."

I chuckle. "Yes, yes it would." He grins and leans sideward against the mirror wall of the lift.

"So, has Elizabeth told you what we're going to do?" I ask to keep the conversation on going but Pietro shrugs.

"Nope, she just invited me."

"Yeah, me too," I mutter and the memory of last time pops in my head. I've told them I did like Pietro... Was this...? O dear. I swallow and Pietro notices my mood change.

"Are you alright?" he asks worried, setting himself off of the wall and stepping a bit closer to me.

I nod. "Yes," I squeek and clear my throat. Inquisitive he stares at me but then the doors open and I jump outside, almost bumping into Steve.

"O, sorry! Hi," I greet him, dodging him and in my mind I utter a sigh. Well, that was a lovely first impression. I hadn't met Steve yet in person, until now then.

"No worries," Steve says and greetingly he nods to us. "Welcome, follow me."

"Where we going?" I ask but then I remember that this is the same floor as last time. "Never mind," I continue. Why do I keep chattering? Perhaps I should turn around and leave again?

When we enter the party-zone I see Elizabeth sitting on one of the couches. On the coffee table are placed different types of snacks and, luckily, I notice four glasses. At least they're not planning on leaving Pietro and me alone. She jumps up from the couch with a big grin on her face. I glare angry at her, without Steve and Pietro letting it notice, and her grin grows even bigger.

"Are there more coming I don't know about?" I whisper to her when hugs me as a greet. She laughs silently and let's go off me.

"So, what are the plans?" Pietro asks and curiously I stare at them.

"Well, nothing quite special actually," Elizabeth answers. "First we're going to enjoy these tasty snacks I've prepared and later on the evening we shall go bowling."

"Bowling?" I repeat, eyebrow slightly raised.

"Yes, there's a bowling club a few floors down," Steve explains. Of course there is.

Pietro looks enthusiastic. "I love bowling. I'll beat y'all!"

I cross my arms. "O yeah? We'll see about that."

"It's war!" Pietro declares and I see Elizabeth and Steve exchanging some meaningful looks. I wonder how they knew we both like bowling.

I plump down on a couch and the others follow my example. "So, you've made these all yourself?" I ask Elizabeth and in awe I stare at the many things. They're mini apple pies, cakes, muffins but also some more healthier snacks as cucumber, tomatoes and little pickles rolled in lucheon meat.

"Well," Elizabeth starts but Steve finishes her sentence. "Most come straight out of the package."

Elizabeth punches his arm and he laughs. "That's not true! I've made some myself."

"Indeed, some," he teases her and quickly she changes the subject. "Who wants something to drink?"

"Straight outta the bottle," Pietro says jocular and he points his fist at Steve. Unsure he stares at it and Elizabeth and I have trouble in keep holding in our laughter. Pietro drops his fist and shrugs.

Elizabeth pours us some drinks and not long after that we're having some hilarious conversations. I don't know how much alcohol was in it, but I guess a lot.

"... so I changed my face into a lion and scared Tony to death," Elizabeth chuckles.

"Can't you change into a whole lion?" Pietro asks curious but Elizabeth shrugs. "I guess I can, but I don't think I can handle the pain. You try breaking every bone in your body and shifting it in another position."

Pietro grimacesΒ  by the thought, as do I. I would not like that pain, indeed.

"But what about you two?" Steve asks and immediately it is dead silent. "You met the Maximoffs in Sokovia, right Di?"

I nod, glad he only wanted to know that. "That's true. As you all know probably, I'm part of the X-Men. I was send on a mission to Sokovia a few years ago. I went undercover by a Hydra-basis to gather some information. I started low, I had to take care of the ones who joined their experiments. And that's when I met Pietro and Wanda. They were the only ones who survived the experiments and I decided to win their trust. I thought that would've been the best for the mission, since I needed as much information from different angles as possible."

"But she really did like us, and we became great friends," Pietro interrupts me and I smile. That was also true.

"But then I was transferred back to America, to tell professor X everything I knew about Sokovia and Hydra. So I only saw them again when Sokovia had fallen. Literally."

"I see," Steve says and I finish the last of my drink. "So, what about that bowling game?" I ask with a grin and they all smile. It is time to put some action in this night.

We all leave the party-zone and go down a few floors. Straight behind the doors of the elevator is the club and I really do love this tower. I could entertain myself for weeks, perhaps even months, in here. I change my shoes for the special bowling shoes and pick out a bowlingbal for this little contest.

Elizabeth types in our names and I see I may go first.

"Strike," I announce and they all stare at me a bit suprised. The bal hasn't even hit the pins yet but I know it would be a strike.

"That's cheating," Pietro says when the bal indeed hits all the pins. "No powers!"

"I didn't use them!" I tell them honestly. "I'm just really good in bowling."

-

One and a half hour later, it is clear I've won this game but I must admit that Pietro really did keep up with the scores. But Elizabeth and Steve were just awful at bowling, I could not put it otherwise.

"Well, this was fun," I state and Pietro nods.

"Hmm, I'm not going bowling with you guys again," Elizabeth says frustrated.

Pietro laughs. "It has been a great evening. Thanks for inviting me but I think it is time to go back to my apartment."

"Yes, I'll leave to," I say and after a small goodbye we step inside the lift to go back to the main floor.

"It really was fun. Perhaps we should do it again, but then only with the two of us?" Pietro asks when the elevator moves down and I stare at him.

Silence.

"Uhm... Is that a yes or no?" he asks confused and I realize I had opened my mouth but no sound had escaped it. "Sorry, yes. I would love that," I answer quickly and slightly embarrassed. He smiles and when the doors opens, he winks and in a blue flash he shoots out of the lift.

"Cheating!" I shout after him but I know he would be long gone.

On the way home I couldn't stop thinking about anything else than Pietro. My head was even more in the cloud than before, but perhaps that is because I know knew there was a chance. A chance that we could actually be a couple, and that thought put a smile from ear to ear on my face.
