Nandini opened her eyes with a great difficulty for God knows after how long. Her head was paining like hell. She held her head with her palms and winched loudly. She kept her eyes opened with a great difficulty and looked around where she was only to find herself in a dark room. She couldn't see anything in the darkness. "Is it evening already?" She thought having no idea of the time.

She tried to remember how did she reach here. Her mind went back to to the time when she was not here. She remembered she was coming back from office in her car. At the middle of way, the driver stopped the car and put something on her nose. Then she can't remember what happened. Her head is still paining like anything.

But the pain subsided when she started thinking of the situation. She was trying to make her mind. There were few questions which were roaming in her mind.

Is she kidnapped?

Is her driver behind all this?

But how is it possible?

Their driver is one of the most trusted employees of their company from her father's time. She has seen him since the time she has been a kid and she respected him a lot. He too has treated her so well till now.

How can he do this?

While thinking all this in the darkness only she tried to find her phone. But it was no where around. She was getting scared now.

She is scared of darkness.

The darkness around her has already started making her feel suffocated. She felt her breath was going to halt any moment. She needed someone around to help her to come of this mess. But there was no one.

She shouted for sometimes for help with a hope that someone may hear her and come to her rescue or at least turn on a light. But to his dismay, no one came.

Nandini is a strong girl. But in this darkness, she was not able to think anything straight. Her mind was blank. She was about to lose her senses. She was sweating though it was not at all hot.

Her fear was overpowering her senses. . . . .

She shouted for some more time as long as she could to get someone's help but it didn't make any difference. She kept sitting there at the same place where she was sleeping sometimes ago. She settled on one corner and hugged her knees tightly. Nandini couldn't do anything but praying to God for help.

After sometimes she heard someone opening the door and came inside. She relaxed a little hearing the sound. She saw two boys are coming in. She got afraid again seeing them and went to the furthest corner of the bed. Now there was no place for her to go back. Her back was touching the head post.

"Don't be scared, mam. We won't harm you," One of the boys spoke to Nandini making her a little comfortable. But she was still scared.

"Why have you guys kidnapped me? Tell me, what do you want? Let me go. You don't know me. You all will be in trouble, if you don't let me go," She gathered some courage and tried to threaten them. She tried to act brave but she was trembling with fear from inside. She could not hide that in her tone.

"We know who you are, mam, and we don't need anything from you. We also can't do anything. You have to live here now for a few days," Another boy said this time.

Nandini frowned. She was trying to think who can be behind all this. "Leave me else I will shout." Nandini could not help saying this as she has no more options. Though she understood it very well that no one will come no matter how much she shouts as she has already tried that.

"You can shout as much as you want, mam. But no one will come to save you as this place is very much isolated." They said still in the same rude tone but there was some respect in their voice which Nandini could feel. But she didn't understand the reason behind it. No one will give anyone this much respect, if they kidnap the person.

"Why are you all doing this? How much money do you want? Say me." She asked helplessly rubbing her palms over her face trying to wipe the sweat from there.

"We have got enough money to kidnap you. We don't need more." They smiled and replied.

"Who has given you money? Tell me this at least." Nandini asked again but they didn't answer.

"We can't tell you more than this, mam. After sometime sir will be here then you will get to know everything by yourself. Wait for some more time." They again said obediently.

"Ok, but please turn on the light. I am afraid of darkness." Nandini pleaded as she was not able to bear the darkness anymore. There was a faint light coming through the door which she knew would vanish, if they leave.

"Sorry, mam. We are told to keep you like this only. In the darkness. We know about your weakness." They replied making Nandini shocked as only a few people know about her being afraid of darkness.

"It has to be someone close to me? But who?" Nandini started thinking.

After saying this much both of them left after closing the door behind.

Again the darkness covered the room making Nandini scared to death. The darkness inverted not only the room but also the mind of Nandini. She folded her legs close to her chest and wrapped her hands around them. Nandini hid her face in between her legs.

It's been six years since Nandini's parents has died. That time Nandini was in 12th. They were very rich. Nandini's father had his own business. They are two sisters- Nandini and Nisha.

Nandini's parents died in a car accident. After their death, every responsibility of their business and Nisha came on her. That time Nisha was in 5th grade. Nandini had never been in office before. Her parents always protected them like a shield.

That was the first time when they came to the reality after their parents death.

Manik's parents were also there to protect them from every evil eyes. They had always treated them like their own child. Nandini was also very close to them. May be a bit more than her own parents.

The reason was MANIK!!!

Before the death of Nandini's parents, they had transferred all their properties and business to Nandini and Nisha. For that all the property came to them as soon an Ritik and Shivanya died.

At that time, Nandini's chacha came for their protection. He took their responsibility. Till now he had handled everything alone. Not only the office but also Nandini and Nisha. Nandini joined office after completing her MBA. She didn't want to but some of the old office workers requested her to join and handle her own company. Though they never told her the reason. She also thought, it would be good for her and the company.

Now Nandini is looking after the company totally. Nandini's chacha is still there. He also looks after some departments of the company. Nandini did not let any harm come to their company nor did she let it down. After she joined the company, it has only risen to new heights.

Till now closing her eyes Nandini was thinking all this. About her life. Her parents. Nisha.

And Manik. . . . .

While taking care of Nisha and her father's company, she never got the chance to think about her past or her life. She was too busy in looking after everything that she had to forget about herself. There was no more her left anywhere. Whatever she was now, it's only for Nisha and her father's company which she can't let down.

But today when she is sitting alone in this dark room, all those thoughts were running in her mind. She was thinking of herself. All the old memories are coming back in front of her eyes which she had suppressed in her heart a long back and never dared to open them again.

How much happy she was in her life!!!

Her life was perfect but an accident made her life upside down. Everything changed. Every damn thing.

Every damn thing....

Why life is so unpredictable???

Nandini had asked this question a lot of times to herself, to God. But she never got any answer. Now she has stopped asking.

She was thinking all this sitting on one of the corners of the bed. She was trying to divert her mind from this darkness and it's thoughts just the way HE used to do.

Suddenly she again heard the sound of the door being opened. She raised her head only to find a familiar pair of eyes in front of her

making her shock to her core.

"You!!!!" That's what she managed to utter.
