"So now I'm announcing the students. The called students will meet me after the notice in my office room. So the students are: Kim Namjoon & Park Rose from the forensic department, Kim Seokjin, Jung Hoseok & Lee Jisoo from medical science, Min Yoongi, Im Nayeon & Park Jihyo from the psychology department, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, Kim Jennie, Choi Lisa & Lee Y/N from the journalism department. Please give them an applause. I hope they will conduct their duty well. Let's wish the best for them."

Everyone claps their hands. Then again the principal continues, "I'm requesting them to come into my office after this assembly ends. Thank you all. I hope everyone will cooperate with us and help us to solve the case quickly. Also, everyone must be aware of this incident and stay alert. Today's assembly is ending here. Everyone, go back to your class and study hard. The exam is coming up, so stay safe and work hard. Fighting. Again, thank you all."

The principal then leaves the auditorium hall. Everyone again goes back to their respective classes. Some students start to chitchat and gossip. Some are satisfied about the selection, and some are jealous and talking shit about it.

On the other hand, Namjoon is the first one to gather everyone whose name is called by the principal. Everyone gathers around Namjoon in the corridor in front of the principal's office. Namjoon leads them to the principal's office.

In the principal office

"Okay, you must be thinking why I called you here and why I selected you aside from everyone for this case. Actually, you guys are the most brilliant and talented students of this university. I have hope that you can solve this problem together. Not gonna lie, but I like your friendship. Your friendship is very strong. Don't mind me talking informally with you, haha. I can be rest assured by giving the responsibility to you. I hope you all do your best for our country. Fighting," the principal says to the students who are standing in front of him.

The students become dumbfounded by seeing their principal's behavior. They never saw their principal smile. But now he is laughing and talking with them in a friendly way. Every student of the university fears Mr. Jang because of his bold demeanor. But now his friendly side astonishes this group of students. But they quickly recover their posture and listen to his words.

"Yes, sir. We'll do our best. We'll even sacrifice our lives for the sake of our country. But we promise you that we'll solve this case by hook or by crook." Namjoon, the leader of the group, says to the principal on behalf of the group.

"Bravo! My boy, that's the spirit that I want." The principal gives compliments to Namjoon because of his patriotic behavior. "You all have to give a visit to the SK Headquarters today. There joined a new police officer recently, Song Joon-gi, who's the main conductor of this case. I heard he's very intelligent, honest, and very responsible for his duty. That's why he's specially given to this case by the higher authorities. He'll lead you all and help you with everything that needs to solve the case."

"Oh, that's good to hear. But sir, there's a problem. Maybe today we can't go to pay a visit to the SK Headquarters because one of our members is absent today." Jisoo says finally after fighting with her inner soul. She was thinking about whether she should tell him about this thing or not. But at last she decides to tell the principal.

"Who? Who's absent today?" The principal asks.

"Lisa. Choi Lisa from the journalism department." Y/N respectfully replies to the principal's query.

"What happened to her? Why is she absent today?"

"Actually, sir, she's a little bit sick... nothing serious, just a little fever... she'll be alright, and tomorrow she'll attend class." Y/N proceeds to answer.

"Oh, it's a matter of great sorrow. I pray that she may recover soon and come to the university. Ok, guys. Then I think you need to go to the headquarters tomorrow. Every one of you will know your position and activities from there. Now you all should head to your class." The principal instructs.

"Thank you, sir." Everyone thanks their principal, bows to him, and goes away to their respective class.

After the class ends

When the bell rings, it indicates that today's class ends here. Everyone packs their bags and prepares to go home and rest. Again, Y/N and her friends gather in front of the exit gate. Usually they go home together. Their home isn't in the same way. But they walk together, and one by one they take their own path and separate. Y/N and Jisoo go together if Y/N or Jisoo don't have work or any emergency.

"Eonnie, I can't go with you now." Y/N says to Jisoo.

"You'll go to Lisa's house right, Y/N?" Asks Rose.

"Yeah, eonnie." Y/N replies.

"Okay, then go safely there, and after reaching there, text me, or I'll be worried about you. Don't be too late. And also check both sides when crossing roads. Don't talk with strangers-"

"Eonnie, I'm not a kid anymore. I know all of this very well. Don't worry about me. You also go home safely. And I know all of your instructions, and I promise I'll maintain them." Y/N whines.

"Y/Nieee, my sweet little sister, you're still a kid to me." Jisoo starts to pamper her sister.

"Aww," everyone cheers for them. Hobi wipes out his imaginary tears. Jungkook and Jimin cry dramatically while hugging each other. Everyone is messing up.

"Okay, okay, now chill everyone. I have to go now. Eonnie, tell eomma and appa not to worry for me. I'll call after reaching there. Bye," saying this to everyone, Y/N decides to leave.

"Bye, Y/Niee," everyone bid her also.

One by one, everyone leaves the place except Jennie. She goes to Y/N's path. She finds Y/N and runs to catch her. Soon she comes near Y/N and calls her.

"Y/N," Jennie calls.

"Huhh." Y/N flinches a little. "Ohh, Jennie. Won't you go home with them?"

Jennie then replies to her, "No, actually, I would go with them, Y/N. But you know what? Something came up suddenly. I got a student to tutor, and I didn't want to miss this chance. I know Taehyung will be very mad if he is able to know that I'm tutoring a boy without his permission. But what can I do, Y/N? Tell me. I can't bear to see Taehyung working so hard for me, just for me. It hurts sometimes knowing that I also can do something to help Taehyung, but I'm doing nothing, just being a burden for Taehyung. That's why this time I decided to take steps and help Taehyung by bearing my allowance on my own. I don't want to be a burden for Taehyung." Jennie becomes emotional while telling this to Y/N.

"You know what Jennie if Taehyung was here instead of me and you were telling this to him, you would be killed already. I know you think about him a lot. You two care for each other a lot. And I'm really very glad to see that. But what's with this type of talking? I don't know much about Taehyung, but I know a little bit of him too, and that's enough for me to know how much he loves you. He never thinks of you as a burden. How can you describe his love for you as a burden? He'll be hurt if he knows about your opinion. I'm warning you; I don't want to hear about this type of thing further anymore." Y/N tells Jennie.

"Ahh, sorry, Y/N. I'm just feeling guilty. I'm really sor-" Jennie is cut off by Y/N.

"Don't tell me sorry, Jennie. If you have to say sorry, then don't do this type of thing and be generous to Taehyung."

"I understand. You're so sweet Y/N. That's why you're my bestie. You know what I only told you about this because I trust you. I trust you more than myself. Uhh, don't tell Taehyung that I'm tutoring a boy, or else I don't know what'll happen to me. Pretty please."

"Ok, I won't tell. Don't worry about it; your secret will be safe with me, and by the way, I don't have a talk with Taehyung either. You know he is so busy." Y/N snorts and Jennie laughs.

"Ok, I have to go now, Y/N, or I'll be late."

"Yeah, I have to go also, Jennie. It's getting late. You should head too. Don't be late at night. Try to go home early, or else I don't know what Taehyung will do."

"Okay, ma'am. I'll, but now bye."

"Bye." Saying this, Y/N and Jennie part their way.

Author's POV

It is 10:30 pm in Seoul, South Korea. It is getting late. Already it has started to become dark. Y/N is in a dark, narrow alley. The alley is looking void. It is not clean. There is garbage everywhere. By looking at the alley, it can be told that this alley isn't used. It's abandoned.

As it is getting darker, Y/N thinks of taking a shortcut to return from Lisa's house. First of all, she decided to stay at Lisa's house. Lisa urged her to do that too. She wanted to do a girl's night with Y/N. But Y/N thought she shouldn't give pain to Lisa as Lisa was already sick. So she thought she should go back to her own home.

Also, she's not a scared cat. But whatever, it's not safe for anyone to stay outside this much later, especially for girls, as there are many people who can do harm and girls are targeted by them too. Plus, the situation isn't good; many girls have been abducted by someone else.

But who'll listen? Y/N is very stubborn. So she just did what she thought to do. Y/N isn't scared, but the environment of the road gives her shivers down her spine.

Usually there aren't many people in that alley even in the daylight, so in the night it's normal to not have any people. Y/N gives her mind a signal that everything's going to be good. Mental positivity is the first thing you should have in a dangerous moment, or else you'll lose.

But somewhere in her heart, Y/N knows that she is getting scared, and she just gives her mind nothing but strength. By thinking about it, she is getting nearer at the end of the alley. She sees a light coming from the alley; she follows the light and goes straight.

When it is just ten steps away from the end of the alley, suddenly she hears sounds of footsteps behind her. She gets scared immediately. When your mind is already scared, something unusual makes you scared immediately and quickly.

But Y/N's mind is strong. She collects her courage altogether and looks behind her. But she finds no one and nothing at all. Y/N then thinks about it as just her hallucination and doesn't give a thought about it. She starts walking again, but this time the footsteps are getting nearer to her with each passing second. But she doesn't want to look behind and continues walking.

She safely passes the alley without any danger. But the sound of the footsteps still accompanies her. Suddenly she looks behind and sees that there's a man walking to her. He is wearing a black hoodie and black jeans with a black mask. His black sneakers are coming nearer to her. Finally, Y/N gets scared. The man is very tall. His walking is slow but strong.

She then asks, "Who's there?"

But she gets no answer. Again she asks, "Who's there? Please tell me who you are."

With each passing second, she is getting nervous. "I said, w-who i-is t-there? A-ans-answer me." But again, it is like she's talking to the air.

Y/N closes her eyes and opens them again to see clearly. She isn't hallucinating. A man is clearly there, walking to her. His hands are stuffed into his pockets.

Suddenly the principal's announcement of missing girls clicks Y/N's mind, and she thinks that he's the murderer of those victims. Her mind goes blank. She doesn't know what to do in that situation or where to go. Should she run? Can she escape from this psycho?

She is 100 percent sure that she will be the next victim of this psycho. She already plans that everything is going to end right now; she'll die. No one can save her. She can't meet her family anymore and can't talk to her friends or parents. She is nearly getting a heart attack. Her mind starts to think about negative things. It produces many horrible chronicles.

She is sweating very badly. Her hand is shaking; her whole body is shaking tremendously. Her throat is getting dry. She can't breathe normally. Her breathing becomes heavy.

The man is two steps away from her. Getting scared, she starts to scream. She screams to people to save her, but there is no one. It is empty in the alley. There are no people; even a stray cat isn't there to save her.

Hearing her scream, the stranger comes running to her. By seeing the man running to her, she thinks the man is coming to kill her. The man closes her mouth with his hand, an attempt to stop her from shouting anymore. But her situation gets worse.

Seeing her situation, the man whispers to her to stop shouting. Then he opens his mask. But Y/N's body collapses, and she faints upon his body, but before fainting, she sees the person's face. And it's none other than

KIM TAEHYUNG
