After 2 weeks

Rk & Madhu returned back their home in Mumbai after staying 1 week in Malik mansion & 1 week in Rk's parents place.. Though Mohan & Radha wanted them to stay there for longer they couldn't as Rk didn't has much leave & work burden was getting increased by his absence.. 

Madhu was sitting in front of TV watching a movie as Rk had gone to office & she was getting bored like anything.. For the past 2 weeks she always had him by her side & now suddenly being alone made her feel moody.. She takes her phone & dialed his number but it went unanswered .. She again tries & this time too the same happened.. This has never happened before.. Why he wasn't attending the call..?? & it was lunch break time so there is no question of him being busy in work or did he skip his lunch & got involved in his work..?? Sighing she dialed Rk's office number & within few rings the receptionist attends the call.. 

"Hello.. Can you plz connect me to Mr. Rishabh Kundra ..??"Madhu asks the receptionist through phone.. 

"May I know to whom I'm speaking with..??"The lady receptionist asks politely from the other end.. 

"It's Mrs. Rishabh Kundra here.. Plz, it's urgent.. "Madhu tells.. 

"Sorry Mam, Chief had left an hour back taking half day leave .. "The receptionist informs her.. 

"What..?? To where..??"Madhu frowns confused.. 

"That I don't know, Mam.. "

"Ok.. Thanks.. "Madhu ends the call & stares at the wall clock.. It's only 1.15 PM.. Rk has never left office this earlier if there isn't any emergency.. If he had left an hour back then why didn't he reach home yet..?? Or did he go somewhere else..?? But then why didn't he pick up her call..?? Madhu thinks worried as she again tries his number & this time it said switched off.. 

"Where are you, Rish ..??"she thought worriedly then consoles herself saying he might be driving that's why not answering her calls.. It was almost 2 PM when Madhu received a call from Rk.. She quickly picks it up leaving a sigh of relief.. 

"Hello Rish, why didn't you answer my calls..?? Did you have any idea how worried I was.. "Madhu angrily asks through the phone..

"What happened..?? Why did you call..??" Rk asks back.. 

"I just called you to check on you but you didn't take my calls & made me worry.."  Madhu tells in a complaining tone.. 

"I was busy that's why didn't pick up your call.. "Rk tells her.. 

"Hmm.. Where are you now.. ??"Madhu asks him.. There was a pause for few moments.. 

"Where would I be at this time..?? Obviously at office.. "Rk tells her.. 

"Office..??"Madhu frowns "But .."before she could complete he cuts her off "Biwi, I'm bit busy will call you later.. Bye.. "& cuts the call.. 

"Office ..?? But the receptionist said he took half day off..??"Madhu thinks confused.. 

Madhu was waiting for Rk in the evening & she keeps looking at the wall clock in between.. Usually he comes back by 5 in the evening but it's nearing 7.15 PM now & still he hasn't return yet.. Madhu felt angry & her heart keeps saying something is wrong.. She hears the sound of Rk's car & goes to open the door.. She opens the looks & sees him on doorstep.. He looked tired than usual.. Giving her a small smile he walks inside & she follows him after locking the main door.. 

"Where were you for this long ..??"Madhu asks him.. 

"Office.. "he replies without looking at her.. 

"Office..?? You left office at noon itself .."Madhu tells him in an angry tone.. Rk turns to look her in shock.. 

"Were you keeping tabs on me..??"Rk asks her with a deep frown on his forehead.. 

"Tabs..?? I was worried about you & when you didn't attend my calls I called to your office & got to know that you had already left.. "Madhu explained.. "You left office seven hours before & reaching home now.. Where were you for this long..??"Madhu asks him.. When Rk remained silent she comes close to him & feels an odd smell & leans closer to him.. Rk at looks her confused not knowing what she's up-to.. Suddenly worried look replaced anger on Madhu's face ..

"Were you in hospital..??"Madhu asks him.. 

"What..??"

"You smell of medicines & antiseptic lotion.. " Madhu tells him then ask him worried "Aren't you well, Rish..?? Why didn't you say me..??"Seeing her getting panicked Rk holds her by her shoulders & says "Biwi, I'm alright .. I don't have any problem.."

"Then how did you get this smell..??"Madhu asks him.. 

"It's.. One of my friend's mother is in hospital I just went to visit her that's why got late.. "Rk tells her.. 

"But then why did you left office at noon & why did you lie me you were in office when I asked.. ??"Madhu asks him.. Rk stares at her for a moment & says "I was out for office purpose only now stop questioning me get me a glass of water.. "he tells & sits down on the couch tiredly.. Madhu did as he said & after drinking water he went to take his shower.. 

Madhu was arranging the cloths in wardrobe when Rk's phone started ringing.. She goes to check & finds the call is from an unknown number.. She takes the phone in her hand & goes near washroom door.. 

"Rish, your phone is ringing.. "Madhu informs him.. 

"Who is it..??"Rk asks from inside.. 

"Don't know.. It's an unknown number.."Madhu tells.. 

"Whoever it is ask them to call later.. "Rk tells her.. 

"OK.. "Madhu says & picks up the call.. "Hello..??"

"Hello, who is this..?? Isn't it Rk's number..??"It was a lady's voice..

"Who are you..??"Madhu asks frowning.. 

"I'm.. "before she could hear any further someone snatched the phone from her hand.. She turns to see Rk standing in front of her just a towel wrapped around his waist.. His body was dripping wet & there were foams too in some parts of his body.. It seemed he had hurried to the room not even caring of wiping his body.. He quickly cuts the call & switched off the phone.. 

"What happened to you, Rish..??"Madhu asks bewildered.. "You could have gave me the phone.. "he tells her as he ignored her question.. 

"You only said me to pick up the call.. "Madhu tells him.. "Between who was she..??"Madhu asks him.. 

"Who..??"Rk asks acting nonchalance.. 

"Do you think I'm dumb..?? If you rushed here not even caring of your appearance just to cut the call then it means you know who the caller was .."Madhu tells.. 

"A new staff joined today.. She said she will call me by this time to discuss some things regarding work.. "Rk tells her not meeting her eyes..

"Really..?? When did you start to give your personal number to your staffs & when did you give your staffs permission to call you Rk so authoritatively..??"Madhu asks annoyed not liking him plainly lying on her face..

"Now don't start on it, Madhu.. "Rk tells getting irritated as tires to go to change but Madhu stops him by holding his hand.. "Rish, I know you're hiding something from me.. I don't know what's the motive behind that maybe you didn't trust me enough to share it with me.. "Madhu says in a whisper.. Rk looks at her helplessly then taking her hand off his hand he says in a low tone "Just leave me alone for sometime, Madhu.."& goes from there.. Madhu feels hurt.. She didn't know why Rk behaved oddly like that all she knows was there is something wrong..

At night Madhu was watching TV.. Rk went to bed earlier saying he had headache & Madhu didn't want to go to him after him saying her to leave him alone for sometime.. She was getting bored & changed the channel to a talk show.. 

"So you're saying your husband cheated you..??"the host asks a lady making Madhu bolt at her question.. 

"Yes, I had trusted him like anything but he was taking advantage of it & was going behind my back.. He had an affair with a woman in his office.."the lady says by crying.. Madhu stared at the screen in shock ..

"How did you find out about his affair..??"the host asks again.. 

"Our life was going smoothly.. We were so in love & he never ignored me always cared a lot for me.. But.. But few months after our marriage he started to ignore me & started to keep distance from me & also used to hide things from me.. Initially I believed his lies about the phone calls & msges he used to get but when it got increased I started to get suspicious & kept an eye on him & eventually find out about his affair.. When I confronted him he said they were in love before our marriage & after his marriage with me he tried to move on & love me, he also said he thought he loved me but later when he met his past love he realized that he still loves her & what he felt for me was never love.. "the lady tells by wiping away her tears.. 

Madhu quickly changes the channel.. Damn.. You should have better go to bed than watching such craps & making yourself more worried.. Madhu chides herself .. 

*What if Rish also has an affair..??*her inner self asks her.. 

"What the hell..?? I know my Rish inside out he would never cheat me.. "Madhu angrily tells to her inner self.. 

*I know but still don't you find something fishy in his behavior..?? As if he is ignoring you..??"her inner self asks again.. 

"I don't know about that all I know is he loves me & won't go behind any other bi**h.. If he has to go like that then he could have gone before itself.. But he didn't.. Even after the death of dipali he never felt the need of another woman that's why he kept ignoring me in the past.. He was loyal to her even after knowing she was not going to return then do you think he would cheat his wife whom he loves more than his life..??"Madhu asks her inner self more like assuring herself.. "I better go to bed.. "she shakes her head & switching off the TV she walks towards the bedroom .. The room was dark except for the dim light coming from the bed side lamp .. She never turns that light off as she is scared of darkness ..

She lied beside Rk & saw him already in deep slumber.. It was only 9.45 PM.. He never went to sleep this earlier esp without her beside him.. She felt sad.. She hears notification sound from her phone & finds Trishna's 'goodnight' msg on whatsapp.. Seeing her online Madhu quickly typed a 'Hi' & sent it.. She needed someone to talk.. 

"Hey.."she replied back in seconds.. She quickly set the phone on silent mode so the notification sounds will not disturb Rk.. 

"Trish, I need to talk about something to you.. "Madhu typed back.. 

"What..??"

"I'm worried.. "

"what happened.. ??"

"If a husband suddenly start become distant from his wife what that means..??"

"You mean if Rk start to become distant from Madhu what does that mean..?? Lol.. "

Madhu feels irritated seeing her msg.. 

"Shut your crap & answer me.. "

"I never let my hubby get distant from me.. I always have him wrapped around my Lil finger.. *Smirk* " 

"How..??!!"

"Seems like my friend needs some tips on her marital life.. "

"Trishhh.. "

"Madhu yaar, it's not at all difficult be a charmer & enchant your hot headed hubby with your charms then he will be behind you like a puppy dog 24*7.. "

"You still read those romantic novels, don't you.. ??"

"You might find my idea silly but it's 100% working.. Saying this out of experience dear.. "

"You know what Trish..?? Goodnight.. It's better for me to sleep now or my head will blast seeing your freaking ideas, bye.. "

"Then you go find better ideas than mine.. Bye *Angry face*" 

Madhu put her phone on bedside table through Trishna had sent stupid ideas talking with her helped a lot to get relived.. 

But still in some corner of her mind she was restless & wanted to know what Rk was hiding.. She sat up on the bed & stared at him.. 

"Enough is enough I can't bear this anymore.. I can't always be ever so cool.. I don't like you hiding things from me, Rish.. How much ever I try I can't sit peacefully knowing you're keeping distance from me & lying to me.. What is it that you are hiding from me & why..??"Madhu asks to his sleeping form.. She saw him phone lying next to him & takes it & did what she never thought of doing.. Checking his phone out of suspicion.. She went to the call history & started looking the incoming calls list but didn't find that unknown number.. He had deleted it.. But why..?? Answer was obvious so she won't find out who the caller was.. Feeling extremely angry she shakes him out of his sleep.. He sleepily open his eyes & looks at her ..

"What are you hiding from me, Rish..??"Madhu asks him.. 

"What are you saying..??"Rk asks confused & at the same time Rk's phone in Madhu's hand starts to ring.. She sees the same unknown number flashing on screen .. A mere employee would call him at this time of night.. ?? Rk tries to snatch the phone but Madhu didn't let him & picks up the call.. 

"Who the hell are you..?? Why are you calling my husband at this time..??"Madhu barks through the phone.. 

"Excuse me..?? Isn't it Rk's number.. ??"the girl asks from the another end.. When Madhu was going to give her a tongue lash again Rk tries to snatch the phone & the call got disconnected.. Not knowing about it there was a tug-of-war for the phone ..

"Madhu, give it back don't make me angry.."Rk tells her furiously.. 

"I won't.. I want to know what or who made you distant from me.. "Madhu tells as she pulls the hand with all might that made his hand slip resulting his phone to kiss the ground & scatter into pieces.. Madhu turns to look at Rk but before she knows it she felt a slap on her cheek .. She looks at Rk bewildered not able to believe he has just slapped her & soon everything blacked out & she faints in his arms..

I know eggs & sandals are waiting for me for doing this but a human can't be too flawless na till now it was about the good side of Rishabh & Madhu now time for few flaws from their side.. It's necessary to make their bond more stronger.. 

Any guesses what Rk is hiding..?? & I know you all might be feeling sorry for Madhu even I do but don't worry everything will become fine soon..
