Tori was sitting with them at lunch, and Peyton was trying to be okay with that since Tori sort of helped Jade and Beck get back together, which by extension, helped him get back with Jade and Beck.

So, Peyton was scrolling through motion detection cameras, which had been suggested to him by a few other students and Damian.

He had gotten the stitches removed from his cheek, but he noticed that it was going to turn into a scar, barely noticeable, only if you were looking for it, or standing near him. Beck kept running his thumb across the scar.

Sometimes Peyton wished that Beck didn't, since it reminds him of his uncle throwing a chair at a bay window.

"Suggestions for Birthweek Presents for Trina," Tori said, typing on her laptop. "André, start us off."

"Cheese," André said.

Everyone gave him weird looks.

"Unless you're talking about Black Label Cambozola cheese, I agree with that line of thinking," Peyton said.

"The crunchy bits are too good," André agreed.

"I think I can get my step-mom to bring us some," Peyton told him.

"That'll be great," André told him.

"I don't think Trina would like cheese," Tori said.

"Camembert is also good," Peyton muttered, texting his step-mom to bring cheese over.

"I like the Midnight Moon cheese from Cypress Grove," André said.

"I should try it," Peyton said.

André said, "I know a cheese guy—"

"Enough about cheeses," Tori snapped. "I need ideas for Trina's birthweek." She said, "Robbie."

"Lotion," Robbie suggested.

"That's worse than the cheese," Peyton said.

"Or various lotions," Robbie said.

"Gross. Cat," Tori said.

Cat started explaining, "Well, for my last birthday, I thought my parents were gonna get me a bike, but when I got home from school, my brother was trying to cut off his hair so my mom started yelling—"

"Jade," interrupted Tori.

Peyton asked, "Did you get the bike?"

"No," Cat said.

"Jade," Tori repeated.

Jade said, "Yeah?"

Tori asked, "What should I get Trina?"

"Talent," Jade said.

"Ah, Jade is so pretty," Sinjin said, staring at Jade like a creepy weirdo.

"Three, two, one," Jade counted down and Sinjin took off.

"Peyton," Tori said.

"A homemade bracelet," Peyton said. "Damian always makes me these leather bracelets." He stuck his arm to show Tori.

Tori looked at his arm, "How did you burn your arm on a hair curler three times?"

Peyton took his arm back.

"He doesn't talk about them," Jade snapped at Tori. She and Beck had stopped asking Peyton about the scars since he refused to answer them.

Peyton technically didn't burn his arm on a hair curler. His mom was the one who would come up to them and say, 'Hey, is this hot enough to use?' grab their arms and press the hot hair curler to their arm, multiple times, holding it there 'til they smelt burning meat.

He remembers asking the school nurse for aloe vera and the nurse noticing blood on the long sleeve of his shirt and then demanding to see.

Tori groaned, "Does anyone have good idea about a present for Trina?"

"Less ego," Peyton said.

"You people, besides Peyton, give me a rash," Jade said, getting her stuff and taking off, presumably to find Beck.

So, Peyton had no choice but to follow after her.

Damian: I hate that smiling face so much.

Of course, Jade ended up crashing Beck's profile video, which Beck uploaded anyway, to avoid a fight. They had mentioned Peyton a few times, so he wasn't too upset about it, even though Jade and Beck bickered about Jade being in the video.

Of course, Jade had also made Peyton redo his own video profile, which meant that it had to include her in it.

He decided to focus on putting the motion detection cameras up in the hallways of his apartment building.

Damian did help with the cameras.

Even the Wok Star menus were still hanging on the doors and seemed to be finally gathering dust.

It reminded him that needed to order some food from Wok Star because they had some good egg rolls.

"Okay, so I looked at the locks on the keyholes and I noticed that all the doors on the floors that I had been on had the plastic covering the keyholes," Damian said.

Peyton nodded, "That's so fucked."

"I guess," Damian said.

Peyton looked at Damian's upper arm, noticing the iron curler burn scar. "Do you ever dream of drowning?"

"Yeah," Damian said.

Their mom would make either Damian or Peyton dunk the other in the bathtub whenever she thought they were lying, which was apparently all the time.

The next morning, Peyton and Damian split the footage in half, to go through. It didn't take very long since they weren't any footage to shift through. So, they put the SD cards back in to wait a little bit longer.
