Before we say goodbye, let go.

But I'm lost in the maze of my heart.

The next few days were spent packing stuff by you and your sister. When you didn't respond to Lalisa's texts, she called you multiple times. You called it a day after giving her the final details on the Jeon account.

You're exhausted, and you and Jihyo were preoccupied with preparing for your move to Ulsan. You'll want to get settled in your apartment before getting ready for work. Jihyo was focused on making all of the essential preparations for your boxes.

You went to the storage facility to get the belongings that you had put in storage after losing your apartment. Fortunately, it will match your decor. Jihyo, your sister, was stern with Yang when she told him to look after their daughter for the week. Your young niece was ecstatic to visit her dad. Jihyo informed the school that she would be busy assisting her sister with the relocation, while Yang would be in charge of getting his daughter to and from school. It is past time for her to start living her own life. He was taken aback by your sisters' attitude. You were so impressed with her.

She was also working on organizing your financial systems. You dropped by Rose's house and handed her some sweet gifts for your goddaughter. She had a striking resemblance to Rose in looks. After an hour of visitation, you kiss Rose on the cheek and walk away. Her hubby was serving you delectable snacks. Rose was disappointed that you had to leave, but she was even more surprised that you chose Ulsan over Seoul.

She was ecstatic, and you were only disappointed that she wouldn't be able to join you because she and her husband had already located and bought a property close to Linx Advertising. You congratulate her on her accomplishments.

You run into Lalisa on your way out, and her eyes widen as she sees you. She was taken aback when you nodded and followed a stoic Jihyo to the car. Lalisa takes a massive gulp as she realizes she has lost her best friend.

You only intended to greet her warmly and then leave. You don't know what to say to her. Mr Kang informed you that she had accepted the position of Marketing Director at the Jeons. Mr Kang was distraught, but the staff surprised her with a lovely farewell party. You decided not to attend because you were busy setting up your new house and business in Ulsan.

Mr Kang will be missed, but you and his marketing team will continue to work closely together, and you will discretely manage all of his pitches so that his marketing team can deliver and win all of those problematic contracts. It will be a win-win situation because you will be well compensated. You'll meet Mr. Lee at his Seoul coffee shop the next day. You'll be eating lunch together this time.

"Please, Jenna...wait!" She chased you down as you hurried to the car. Jihyo was already waiting in the car for you to catch up. Lalisas' eyes are tearful and sorrowful. She can't lose you. You quickly turn around and stare her dead in the eyes.

"Lalisa...I've supported you in making the Jeon commercial a success. You've landed the job of a lifetime as the wealthy Jeons' Marketing Director. My dearest friend, strangely enough, did not trust me enough to inform me, but she is now friends with the family who has sabotaged, humiliated, and harmed my career for years. "You squeezed your lips together tightly, trying not to cry. Lalisa is supposed to be your best friend, but she, on the other hand, allowed the Jeons to pull her into their elaborate plans.

To go to the car, you turn your back on her. You just wanted to get out of here, to get out of Seoul once and for all.

"Jenna, please...I'm so sorry," Lalisa pulls you back at the elbow. "You are my best friend. It was a once-in-a-lifetime deal." Her huge expressive eyes were tearful as she stared at you.

"Friends don't backstab each other, friends protect each other, and friends don't sell each other out," you only shook your head in astonishment, looking at her with hard, narrow eyes. "However, you made a pact with the devil. You left Mr. Kang to his own devices. Why don't you go hang out with Eunjin, your new best friend, right now? I'm not one of them. I'm not a member of your elite group. You have the kind of friends you've always desired. You will never be kept back by the genius nerd again. I don't need enemies when I have friends like you. Goodbye, and have a great life!!!" You finally turn on your heels and open the car door with only one expressionless stare. Jihyo was able to sense your distress. Her heart ached as she saw the Jeons wreck your beautiful relationship with Lalisa. Since high school, she's been like a sister to you.

When you look in the mirror, you can see how Lalisa wiped her tears while she wept. Your heart becomes hardened. You'll never put your trust in her again. She is now a member of the Jeons, your enemies.

When you and Jihyo arrived at your posh apartment, it was almost 9 p.m. You were exhausted but contented.

You adore your new apartment. It's spacious, luxurious, and exactly your style-a place where you can be yourself and feel safe. You'll miss your sister's and niece's presence. You just knew you had to be self-sufficient. One thing is sure: dating will be the furthest thing from your thoughts when you're typing in the code. Jihyo dashed to the bathroom to take a shower. You laugh. Because it is already late, you told her you would make a quick pasta, chicken, and vegetable dinner. You pulled out a bottle of red sweet -wine and prepared the table once Jihyo had finished.

You turned on the flat-screen television to check the news while you were pouring the wine. When you watched a commercial for Jeon Shipping, your eyes widened. It was the most exciting advertisement. As you reflected on your hard effort, you smiled. The production company performed an outstanding job. You were pleased to learn that Jeon Shipping's stocks had increased. The company's matriarch was thrilled since they had received contracts from the United States and Europe. Because of direct marketing, their business is growing.

Sadness washes over you as you consider that you were not even given credit for your efforts. You were responsible for 80% of the work. On the other hand, you shrugged. Mr. Kang, at least, has the financial means to expand and construct new high-rise offices in one of Seoul's affluent neighborhoods.

After finishing the pitch for Mr. Lee's coffee shops, you might need a vacation. He called you, and the two of you will have lunch at one of his coffee shops to talk about your new business ties. At least you have something amazing in your life.

But you secretly hope that you would be able to completely let go of Jeon Jungkook, who still has your delicate heart in his cruel grasp. Moving away, beginning your own business, and acquiring your apartment in Ulsan were all steps in the right direction. You were getting your mother well and reuniting with her family.

She divorced your foster father a few months ago. But that is another sad story. You're just relieved that your mother is doing better these days and that your brother, who is in the military, will visit you one of these days. You missed him terribly, and he has no idea that he was instrumental in your breakup.

To get rid of all the unpleasant emotions, you just shook your head. What happened in the past should remain in the past.

Jihyo appeared to be refreshed, with a radiant complexion. She's focused on getting her life in order. Nothing will be determined by what her ex-husband wants, believes, or desires. From now on, she will have a fruitful life.

As your sister plopped down across from you on the sofa, you looked up.

"Do you want to eat now? Is it okay if I set the table? You give a warm smile to your lovely sister.

"Yes, I'm hungry. Let me get the gifts I bought for Eomma while you set up. We'll be visiting her later this week. I got a call from the doctor, and she wants to speak with all of us." Jihyo had a worried expression on his face.

"Is Eomma regressing?" you asked, brows furrowed and voice trembling. " Isn't the medication helping?"

"I don't know," Jihyo said, shaking her head. "Let's not jump to conclusions...okay. Eomma is tough. She fought cancer for at least two years." She tries to console you.

" When I spoke with her last night, Jihyo, she sounded frail...she can't give up now. She must keep improving ...she simply must. I...I'm in desperate need of her." Your eyes began to well up with tears. Your foster mother is your compass. Her health has always been an issue for her. She had been cancer-free for five years, but it has now resurfaced. You, Jihyo, and Joong-Ki are very close, and you did your best to regularly visit your mother at the terminal cancer clinic. Her hospital bills are incredibly high, yet you could pay them. After your foster father took off with all the money two years ago, you and your siblings had to pick up the pieces.

"She'll pull it off. Let's use our faith. Our next Christmas will be spent as a family. Joong-Ki will return home, and the family will be reunited. Perhaps we should take a vacation together." She got up and walked over to you, gently massaging your shoulder.

"I don't want her to pass away so quickly, Ji. I didn't do nearly enough to repay her for raising, feeding, and educating me. I'm truly sorry for disappointing her." As you stared into Jihyo's sad eyes, you sniffed a little.

"You are the best daughter, and she knows you love her. Even with all the mistakes, we made to make her cry, she loves you. She never gives up on us. We fell in love with the wrong men. We did, however, learn from our mistakes. Will we move to Ulsan and be happy...ok? "She smiles.

You smile and embrace your sister on the side. "Okay, I'm not going to give up on her. I was the one who caused Jungkook to suffer, and now I must pay the price. Enough with the painful old episodes. Let me set the table."

You got up and returned to the kitchen, where you set the table in your charming dining room section.

You and Jihyo sat down to a relaxed dinner with a glass of red wine.

"I got Eomma new pj's and fuzzy slippers, as well as her favorite beauty products... I'm hoping the pajamas will fit because Eomma has lost a lot of weight since I last saw her. "She informed you.

You discussed the events of the day.

"When you spoke with Lalisa, she appeared saddened. Why?' Jihyo is confused.

You scoff, "Do you know that she is now working for the Jeons on a full-time basis? Following a successful account. They offered her the position of Marketing Director, which was a prestigious executive position. They allegedly promised her a higher salary than Mr. Kang. She fell for the bait and is now a member of the group. I don't want to be friends with someone who is a friend of my enemies."You shook your head, your tone laced with disgust. You've had enough of betrayals. You'd had your fill for a lifetime.

"She was supposed to be aware that the Jeons detest you..."Jihyo does not appear to be impressed. "Let's not talk about fake friends...Rose's baby is adorable."She tried to change the subject, but that only made things worse.

Your expression has a gloomy tone to it, "Baby Aria is so lovely, and it makes my heartbreak, even more, Jihyo. It's something I'll never get over. It saddens me so much every time I see a beautiful baby."

"Nobody ever recovers from the loss of a child, dear. I'm sure it was one of the most traumatic experiences of your life. You, on the other hand, survive and triumph. You are a strong woman. You are my hero, and You are a survivor--" She smiles warmly at you as you fight back the tears as you reflect on your losses. Why can't you let Jungkook go? Is your heart still a prisoner begging to be let out and set free?

Jihyo could see you were in a great deal of pain. It's as though Jungkook's grip on you is still suffocating, and he can't seem to let go. Jihyo is well aware of your deep love for the Jeon- maknae. More than losing your work, his hate and contempt wounded you.

With trembling lips, you give Jihyo a soft smile. She's perfectly right. All of your tribulations and struggles shaped you into a strong woman. All of the misery and pain won't last long. Every setback will serve as a stepping stone toward restoration.

Jeon Jungkook would never know that the baby you lost was his, not Yoong-Ki's...
