That I need to let you go (Need to let you go)
Hard to say goodbye, but I can't run....

★彡[ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴏᴏᴍ]彡★

You stood in the dimly lit hotel room, with warm tears welling in your eyes, your heart thumping with regret. The weight of what you had done began to sink in, feeling like a burden too heavy to bear. You were frozen against the door, you clutched your clothes and slippers, your mind swirling with emotions.

Despair washed over you, engulfing you in guilt and shame. How could you have been so reckless? How could you betray not only your morals but also the trust of another woman, even if she was your sworn enemy? Your thoughts were spiralled out of control, descending deeper into remorse.

You realized you hadn't slept in your bed as you threw the hastily gathered clothes onto the bed. Your shivering body remained naked under your dressing gown. While searching for your missing diamond stud, you panicked when you noticed a vital piece of your clothing was absent. Shockwaves bolted through you as you frantically searched the bed, finding only one diamond stud on your silky pyjamas. Perhaps it had dropped in the corridor in your rush to reach your hotel room.

Peeking nervously into the corridor, you tiptoed around the corner, finding nothing on the hallway carpets. Fear gripped your heart as you re-entered your room.

Then it hit you like a lightning bolt – you had left behind evidence, a damning piece of your lingerie tucked away in Jungkook's hotel room bedcovers.

Panic seized you as you realized the magnitude of your grave mistake. That piece of fabric was a silent witness to your moment of weakness, a glaring reminder of your lapse in judgment.

With renewed determination, you swiftly stepped into the shower, ensuring your shower cap was in place as you wouldn't have time to blow dry your hair. Dawn was approaching, and you hoped Jungkook would still be asleep.

After an efficient shower, you felt relieved that you had packed most of your belongings the previous night for the trip with Sisely's CEOs, leaving only the remaining clothing and necessities to be packed.

Dressing in a white knitted outfit with your white coat hanging over the room chair, you applied neutral makeup in haste, brushing your hair loosely around your face, not yet ready to face reality.

With trembling hands, you hurried to gather your belongings, your movements frantic and desperate as the clock ticked. Glancing at the room clock, you haphazardly shoved makeup and beauty products into special plastic pockets in your small carry-on suitcase, barely pausing to consider your actions. All you could think about was escaping the consequences of your actions before they caught up with you.

Every passing second felt like an eternity as you raced against time, your heart pounding in your ears with a sense of impending doom. The idea of facing Jungkook, seeing his disappointment, or worse, disgust at the delirious affection he had the night before and the betrayal reflected in his eyes, was unbearable. You needed to leave the opulent hotel, and you needed to leave immediately.

Finally, with your luggage packed to the brim from all the fashion shopping and beauty products, you made your way to the door, hands shaking as you fumbled with the lock.

Glancing back at the room one last time, a pang of regret pierced your heart, but there was no turning back. You had made your bed, and now you unfortunately had to lie in it – alone, with nothing but your remorse as company.

As Jungkook slowly emerged from the hazy depths of sleep, he noticed a welcome absence—the fever that had tormented him had finally subsided. His body temperature had returned to normal.

Relief washed over him like a refreshing breeze, clearing the fog from his mind. However, when he threw the thick duvet cover aside, he was startled to find himself naked. Had his fever been so intense that he had stripped off his pyjamas, which now conveniently lay on the carpeted floor? He furrowed his brows in confusion.

As he started to understand things better, he also remembered what happened last night, although it was like bits and pieces of a strange dream.

Images flickered through his mind like scenes from a dream—the sensation of warm skin moving sensually against his, the softness of lips that felt familiar. Had it happened, or was it merely a product of his fevered imagination?

Uncertainty gnawed at him, mingling with the ache of longing for the only woman he had ever truly loved.

His gaze wandered to the side dresser, where a glint of light caught his eye. A beautiful diamond stud earring lay there, seemingly out of place amidst the clutter of medication packets, a compress, and half-drunk water bottles. Frowning, he reached for it, a flicker of recognition igniting in his mind.

And then it struck him like a lightning bolt—memories flooding back in a rush of confusion and disbelief. He had spent the night with his ex, Jenna. The earring he found was Jenna's, a silent testament to their shared intimacy and tangled history of love and betrayal.

But the surprises didn't end there. As Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed, his fingers brushed against something soft and delicate—a piece of fabric nestled within the silky bedsheets. Pulling it out, his breath caught at the sight of exquisite lace, unmistakably from Victoria's Secret, their exclusive range.

A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips as he noticed SJ's initials embroidered on the fabric. So, it was true. Jenna had been there, leaving behind more than just memories. She had left her mark, a silent reminder of their forbidden liaison and the undeniable pull between them despite everything.

In that moment, Jungkook couldn't help but wonder about their future—whether they were destined to repeat past mistakes or find redemption in each other's arms. He needed clarity.

Jungkook grabbed his bathrobe and rushed into the hot shower, contemplating confronting Jenna about the previous night's events before their passionate encounter. But one thing was sure – he couldn't deny the fierce yearning that burned within him, a flame reignited by the touch of her lips and the whisper of her nickname.

Orchid...

As he completed his routine and dressed in his black tailored pants and crisp white shirt, Jungkook's breath hitched when he noticed the small red hickeys on his chest.

Shivers ran down his body as he lay on his bed, fiddling with his watch, still smirking, his mind overwhelmed by the thoughts of Jenna in his bed.

His muddled thoughts was interrupted with a peculiar ring tone. He inhaled deeply as he quickly sat upstraight by the edge of the bed, still inwardly reeling by the revelations.

A quick peek at the ID caller made him furrowed his brows- it's his grandmother who's timing is as always impeccable.

Perhaps she invited him for breakfast before their departure to her villa in Marseilles. Her limo driver would take them on a road trip to her residence. She loved the scenery and spending time with him; it was a highlight.

A tinged if exhaustion is still evident in his voice, "Morning my dear Halmeoni---" he greeted his granma politely. He still feels little weary from the sleepless night.

"My darling, Guksie boy. My word...you had us all so worried last night. How's are you feeling darling? The fever and allergy were hectic. I hope you drank your medicine diligently," he could hear his grandmothers' voice a mixture of concern and worry.

He was a little absentminded, trying to reassure his gran," I must say the medicine truly helped me. I do feel much better gran."

"Well, that's awesome, darling. You really need to take better care of your health. Why don't you get those medic bracelets to help people recognized your allergies, so whatever happen anywhere they can give you medical assistance. You really scared me Guks. Remember you not that young anymore," she berated him gently, but then her voice tone become more serious," Er...there is something pressing that I needed to talk to you about. I do hope you'll be open minded about it."

Jungkook felt his heart race as he picked up on the seriousness in his grandmother's voice. "What's up, gran?"

His grandmother hesitated a bit, almost like she was weighing whether to bring it up.

There was a little silence on the other end of the line before his grandmother finally spoke up again, her voice sounding hesitant. "So, how did Jenna do? Was she good to you?? She took care of you last night. So, um, she wanted to confess to you about something, Guks. Can you tell me what happened between you two?

Jungkook's thoughts were all over the place as he tried to make sense of what she said. Did she take care of me last night? Could you clarify what you mean? Confession? What was on her mind that she wanted to chat about? I wasn't feeling well last night." He frowned a bit. What was there to admit? Did she feel bad about hurting him, about leading him on?

His grandma gave a deep breath "She didn't say a lot, Guks.? You need to hear the truth from her. She's the one who needs to tell you. She just wanted to say she's sorry for breaking your heart and hopes that one day you can forgive her."

Jungkook was hit with frustration and confusion. "Apologize? For breaking my heart? But... she never mentioned anything to me. She never really said why she did it."

His grandmother spoke gently, her voice filled with understanding. "I get it, Guks.It seems like she's dealing with a lot right now, and maybe she's just not ready to open up about it. She shared some things with me, and I really can't break her trust by exposing them until she feels ready to talk about it with you. I think she still cares about you, no matter what happened."

Jungkook was feeling a mix of emotions- hurt, anger, and a sense of longing all at once. "I just don't get it, Gran. Why would she even show up if she wasn't planning to be honest with me?"

His grandma spoke in a soft yet firm tone. "You know, Guks, facing the truth can be pretty tough sometimes. She might just need a bit more time. And maybe you feel the same way... to truly understand it."

Jungkook let out a deep sigh, feeling a heavy weight of uncertainty on his shoulders."Maybe, yes... Are we having breakfast together? I'm hungry!"

"I can imagine," his grandmother laughed. "Wow, you were sick last night, huh? Hey, let's have our meal on the private terrace. It'll be nice! I made sure there weren't any seafood dishes around, and I let them know to be careful."

He said he would be there.

As Jungkook hung up the phone with his grandmother, a sense of unease lingered in the pit of his stomach. His visit with Jenna had left him with more questions than answers, and he wondered whether he would ever learn the truth about what she had done.

Jungkook decided to swap his white shirt for a black silk one and put on his black jeans, striving for a relaxed and casual look.

When Jungkook's phone rang again, flashing Sullia's name, he felt a little pang of guilt seeping in. He hesitated for a moment before responding, preparing himself for the conversation that was about to happen.

"Good morning, Sullia," said Jungkook, greeting his fiancé with a tone that was both relieved and regretful.

Her voice was filled with excitement, and he could hear it: "Oh my goodness! Jungkook! "Oh my darling...it's so wonderful to hear from you," she said in a loving tone. "Did you enjoy the conference? I hope you were able to get some sleep last night."

He made let out a fake grin to sound joyful, but he made an intense attempt to hide his mixed emotions. "Yes, I'm better and well-rested," he said. The conference was really good. We can attract more prospective export clients."

"The family was extremely concerned when they heard about your allergy attack, Jungkook. Your grandmom told your mom last night. I missed you a lot, my love. I desire to support my future spouse. Should I go to Paris to be together with you? "Sullias's voice was gentle and concerned.

Jungkook felt very guilty. He felt confused and regrettable, so he quickly responded, "Don't fret, Sul, I'm okay now... very healthy. It was a small shellfish allergy. I didn't need to go to the hospital. The hotel staff was really helpful and took good care of me. I'm fine."

She sounded relieved, "Awesome...I'm delighted they looked after you so well. Sometimes, you make me anxious, my love. I can't wait to take care of you after I get married."

When he heard her wish to be his wife, Jungkook felt a deep regret inside and quietly sighed, "Sul, I'm deeply sorry for making you worry."

They talk about lighter subjects that Sullia finds interesting. She told him about his adorable nephew Kwan, who had two more teeth and had gone through a growth spurt. She also told him about Eunjin, who is very busy with Kwan's mischievous behaviour, and how much he misses his uncle now that they have moved. Jungkook smiled when he heard the funny things Eunjin's baby was doing.

He was thankful to have Sullia in his life, and he found comfort in her love and kindness.

Sullia happily talked about the beautiful place she found online for their wedding in Greece. Her excitement was evident even over the phone.

While they talked about their plans for the near future, Jungkook felt moved by the love and commitment in Sullia's words. He cherished her with all of his heart because she was his pillar of support and comfort during the storm.

Even though they spoke with affection, Jungkook's guilt continually bothered him.

He was aware that the delicate trust between him and Sullia could be harmed by the secrets he was keeping from her. Even though he tried to ignore the guilt, he couldn't get away from the weight of his betrayal, realizing he still loved Jenna.

The morning sun shines gently over the terrace of the fancy five-star hotel, giving a beautiful view of the famous Eiffel Tower in the distance.

But even with the beautiful surroundings, Jungkook sat at the breakfast table looking deflated and dejected, his once-bright eyes now dulled with a hint of melancholy.

The cuisine was delicious, and his grandmother, who had a strange obsession with sweet treats, had ordered a variety of the day's cakes in addition to pricey champagnes and sweet wines. He always marvelled at her sweet tooth.

His grandmother, who was always perceptive, poured him a cup of aromatic French roast coffee and observed the weight on his shoulders.

She worried as she heard him talk about his call with Sullia, feeling protective like a mother.

"Guks, my dear boy, what's bothering you?" She asked softly, her voice calming his worried mind.

Jungkook let out a long sigh and looked off into the distance at the Eiffel Tower's silhouette. "Sullia called this morning. She seemed happy and excited about our wedding plans. But I just couldn't get rid of this feeling of uncertainty."

His grandmother's touch was a reassuring presence amid his inner turmoil as she reached out and gently squeezed his hand.
"Getting married is a huge decision, Jungkook. Having doubts is normal, but you have to listen to your heart."

Jungkook was feeling mixed emotions as he tried to figure out how he felt. He had Sullia, his loyal fiancée, who always stood by him no matter what. He wanted to make her happy and build a happy, loving future for her.

However, there was Jenna, a ghost from his past who served as a reminder of a love that had once engulfed him. He tried his hardest to forget the intense passionate night moments they shared, but he was unable to keep her out of his mind.

Jungkook admitted, "I wish I could just forget about Jenna, about what happened between us," in a voice that was tinged with longing and frustration. "But I can't do that until I marry Sullia. Grandma, I need to find closure. I want to find out what happened."

His grandmother listened carefully, her kind eyes showing she understood. "Be patient, my dear boy. Eventually, the truth will come out. Right now, pay attention to what is happening around you. Even though I don't like Sullia, she genuinely loves you and is deserving of all of your time and love. But she'll do 'anything' for your love. Take your time before making any decisions. First, you need to find out the truth from Jenna, but you also need to take time to heal yourself. You can't really move forward until then."

When Jungkook nodded, his brows furrowed. For what reason was Sullia so eager to marry? They were newly engaged. He quickly understood that it was a trick from their moms to speed up the wedding.

They still hadn't chosen a date.

A/N: Jungkook remembered his entanglement.
