Chapter- 25
Please, ignore mistakes
Third person p.o.v-
You found yourself standing in a room, utterly bewildered. How you got there; you couldn't recall. The memory of arriving there had slipped through the sieve of your mind, leaving you stranded in a space that felt eerily familiar—almost unsettlingly so. Every detail, from the curtains to the walls to the dresser, resonated with a sense of déjà vu that sent shivers down your spine.
Confusion enveloped your thoughts as you turned towards the door, the only exit from the room. With a perplexed mind, you approached it. Gripping the doorknob, you twisted it, and with a hesitant push, the door creaked open, revealing a corridor beyond.
Stepping into the corridor, you surveyed your surroundings, hoping for clarity. Slowly and steadily, recognition dawned upon you, causing you to gasp in disbelief, as you realized why you were having a feeling of familiarity about your surrounding. Because-
You were standing in your own apartment-
Your sanctuary, your true home.
But the question lingered like a ghost: How did you come here?
"I can't recall coming here at all, then how did i end up here" you mused aloud, grappling with the inexplicable circumstances.
As you ventured further down the corridor, your gaze fell upon a mirror adorning the wall. Your steps faltered as you caught sight of your reflection. Approaching cautiously, as you met your own eyes in the mirror, only to mixture of another disbelief and wonder washed over you.
Was this real? Could it truly be happening? A smile crept in your lips. Tears of joy threatened to spill from your eyes as your hands reached out, tracing the contours of your face, a silent affirmation of your existence.
"Oh... Oh my God. Is this real? I can't believe it. I'm back in my own body.... But... but how did this happen? I can't seem to remember anything," you whispered, the weight of confusion heavy upon your shoulders.
"You are dead" A deep, echoing voice shattered the silence from behind you, causing you to startle. You turned to find Jungkook standing there, his presence both unexpected and unsettling. His expression betrayed no emotion. "You died on the day of the accident." he stated again in matter-of-factly, his gaze fixed upon you.
Wait a second, where did he come from? He wasn't there before, was he? You didn't even see him standing there a few minutes ago. Or did he bring you here? But what kind of nonsense was he spouting? You were standing in front of him all good, and this man was seriously saying that you died. Had he gone crazy or something?
'"You weird alien... Is this all fun to you? What on earth are you talking about? I'm alive, can't you see?" you snapped at him.
"Huh... Really? Well, how can you be so certain?" he inquired, his gaze lingered on the floor behind you. Confusion knit your brows witnessing his behavior and you turned to mirror his glance, apprehensive. When your eyes met the floor, a chilling scream tore through your lips at the ghastly scene before you, causing you to instinctively step back. Your hands shot to your mouth, seeking to stifle the horrified gasp escaping your lips.
The once pristine floor now resembled a pool of blood. But what was even more shocking was-
Your dead body lying amidst it, drenched in blood.
Its vacant, white eyes bore into yours, the pupils turned to a ghastly shade of white. The wall, once adorned with a mirror, had vanished from there like it was never there before, leaving behind a scene so horrific that it could plunge anyone into trauma with just one glance.
With widened eyes, you looked at your own self and then at the dead body. ''How can it b..be possible'' you mumbled in disbelief. You stepped closer to have a clear look. As soon as you knelt down on your knees on the floor near the dead body, the dead body suddenly moved its pupil and grabbed your throat, causing you to let out another scream of fear.
''NOOOO...'' You opened your eyes with a gasp, breaths coming in ragged bursts. Despite the coolness of the room, sweat still clung to your body. With each labored inhale, you sat upright on the bed. You scanned the surroundings of the room in panic in search of something horrible, but everything appeared mundane. Unlike the haunting scenes from your recent dream, which made you sigh in relief. "What kind of bizarre dream was that?" you murmured trying to calm your ragged breaths.
"Ahhh..." A groan left your lips as a sharp pang throbbed in your head. Raising your hands, you touched your head. As you did so, you felt the tightness of a bandage wrapping around your skull and hands. Frowning, you inspected your hands and noticed that your other small bruises had been treated as well. Not only that, but your clothes were changed too, appearing bigger for your frame. "But who did that, and whose clothes am I wearing? Who even changed my clothes?" you thought, confusion gripping your mind.
As you surveyed the environment, you found it completely unfamiliar. The room was quite large, black-themed but really luxurious, with a king-sized bed on which you were sitting. Everything was perfectly organized and beautiful, appearing as if the room had just come out of some kind of magazine cover. Your frown deepened. "Where am I?" you wondered, attempting to piece together the events leading to this moment. However, the unbearable throbbing ache in your head hindered your recollection.
"Goodness, my head is pounding," you muttered, cradling it in your palms. Closing your eyes slowly, you began to recall previous events: that CD, the university storeroom, your confrontation with those witches... and then....
"You are awake."
Your thoughts halted, as you heard a deep manly voice. You turned your head in the direction and saw Jungkook standing nearby, leaning against the door, crossing his arms over his chest. "Did you had a nightmare?" he inquired softly, moving closer to you and sitting on the bed beside you. "Why are you sweating so much?" he added, wiping your sweat from your forehead very carefully, not to hurt your wound, while you looked at him like a lost puppy by witnessing his gentle behavior.
"My...my clothes...?" you asked hesitantly, looking at your current attire.
''You are wearing my clothes'' he said and you looked at him with wide eyes. "The maid changed your clothes as they were quite dirty, don't worry'' he assured making you sigh in relief.
''Where am i''
''You are in Jeon Mansion. I brought you here after you fainted in the university storeroom." he said in a casual tone.
"Right, I fainted in front of him. But what happened after that?" You bit your lips, lost in thought. Breaking eye contact, you looked down at your lap, applying pressure to your mind, trying to recall the events that caused your head to ache even more. Slowly, the memory of the accident started to flood back, causing your eyes to widen.
"She's dead. She died on the day of the accident, right in front of me... Even after seeing me, she closed her eyes as if she had no regrets." Jungkook's words echoed in your ears, causing your breath to hitch. Even the intense ache in your head seemed trivial now. Your face paled as you swallowed the lump in your throat. Accepting the harsh reality was difficult. You met Jungkook's gaze with a shocked expression.
"Was anything he said true? Is my true form truly gone? Am I condemned to inhabit this body indefinitely?" These thoughts swirled in your mind, making your breathing unsteady. It didn't take him long to realize your turmoil. Of course, he knew that accepting such news wasn't easy.
"Hey, it's alright. Just breathe," he stated calmly, noting your distress and caressed your hair. "Everything is going to be alright," he assured.
Alright? Did he just say alright? The man in front of you almost gave you a heart attack by confirming your real body's demise. He shattered your hopes of returning to your original form, yet he claimed everything would be alright? As if it were a trivial matter.
"But how did he know all of that?" The question lingered in your mind, but you pushed it aside for now.
Because right now, you had to confirm whether his words held truth or not. And that could only happen by visiting your apartment. It was the only way to find the answers you sought.
"Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Jeon, but I really must be on my way now. My parents are probably wondering where I am," you fabricated the excuse, eager to leave not wanting to waste your time anymore. As you made a move to get up, Jungkook furrowed his brows and grasped both your shoulders, firmly pressing you back against the headboard of the bed.
"Where do you think you're going, especially in this condition?'' he said sternly. ''You're injured, and I'm not letting you go anywhere like this,"
"What do you mean by that? And who are you to stop me? Listen, Mr. Jeon, I appreciate your help back there, truly. But my whereabouts are none of your concern," you asserted, irritation coloring your tone.
Jungkook gritted his teeth, hearing your words. "Didn't I tell you that every single aspect about you matters to me? So, if it concerns you, it's my business."
"Excuse me, I'm not sure what you're getting at. You're simply my father's business partner; beyond that, you're nothing more than a stranger to me. So please, stop acting like you have any authority over me," you retorted, struggling to break free.
"Stop talking nonsense and rest. You're in no condition to go anywhere, and I won't allow it," he declared calmly, dismissing your protests.
''You're being unreasonable, leave me now'' you insisted.
''y/n''
''I said, Leave me''
''y/n listen''
You started struggling in his grip to get free, but he didn't let you get away. "What the heck is your problem? Let me go!" you shouted, feeling the anger rise, your eyes got teary.
"Y/N," Jungkook also raised his voice, making you flinch. You shut your eyes tightly and bit your wobbling lips, feeling the unbearable ache in your head because of the loud voice. A drop of tear escaped from your closed eyes.
Jungkook immediately regretted his outburst as he witnessed your condition. You were again in pain, and that too because of him. This mere thought made him feel a strong pang in his heart. His hands started trembling. He didn't want to do this, but what would he do when you were being so stubborn and not even listening to him at all? His grip loosened around your shoulders, and he ran his hands through his disheveled hair. Why did he have to mess up everything every time?
Cupping your face with his trembling hand, he brought his face close to yours until both of your faces were just an inch apart. You could feel his warm breath on your lips, sending shivers down your spine and eliciting goosebumps. His hands trembled against your skin, a sensation you couldn't ignore.
Bringing his face even closer, he brushed his lips softly against your cheek and gently wiped away the tear with his thumb . "Y/N, forgive me, doll. I didn't mean to hurt you.'' he started gently with a calm voice.
You kept your eyes closed, a sob escaping your lips, which shattered his heart. He felt as though someone were squeezing his heart, restraining it from beating. The fact that he was the reason for your tears stabbed his heart deeply. "Please don't cry; it makes me feel like killing myself," he whispered against your ear, his voice heavy with pain.
His words and behavior, coupled with the proximity, left you spellbound, unable to comprehend the sudden shift in his demeanor, and what's with the nickname? Slowly opening your eyes, you found his lips hovering tenderly against your cheek. He slowly moved his face forward, planting a tender peck on both your eyes before connecting his forehead against yours.
If it were any other day, and if it were someone else, you would have likely kicked him in the balls and made him see stars in broad daylight for coming this close to you without your permission. However, in that moment, you were too astonished to utter a word. The man who had harbored so much hatred towards you, enough to contemplate ending your life just a few days prior, was now displaying an overwhelming amount of affection and concern. It was all too much to comprehend, leaving you utterly speechless.
The fragile tranquility was shattered by a soft knock at the door. He pulled away from you, murmuring a stern "come in" without averting his gaze from you. While you were amused by witnessing the change in his aura. The maid entered the room with a bowl in her hand. As your eyes met hers, you immediately recognized her as the same maid you had encountered days earlier—Lara.
"Sir, I brought this soup for ma'am," Lara murmured, her eyes downcast.
"Place it on the table," he ordered, his focus still locked on you, casting a shadow of unease over your senses. You looked away, rubbing your neck in discomfort, as the maid complied. "Get out," he commanded, and the maid bowed before leaving the room and closing the door.
Jungkook smiled and finally broke his gaze. He took the bowl and stirred the soup before taking a spoonful and bringing it close to your lips. You looked at him like a lost puppy.
"Stop looking at me like that and open your mouth. You need to eat something before taking the medicine," he began.
Had it not been for your headache, you would have refused him then and there. However, since your headache was killing you, you couldn't decline his offer. You really needed the medicine at that moment.
"I... I can feed myself," you cursed yourself under your breath for stuttering, attempting to take the spoon from his hand. He moved it away, causing you to frown.
"Don't be stubborn and just eat while I'm feeding you."
"What if I don't?" you retorted with an angry expression.
"Then I won't hesitate to feed you with my mouth, and I won't have any problem with that," he smirked.
Your eyes widened at his statement, crimson spreading across your cheeks upon hearing his seductive words. Quickly, you opened your mouth and ate the soup, which elicited a chuckle from him. Of course, you didn't want anything like that to happen. The man in front of you was unpredictable. Who knows if he would really do such a thing? Moreover, you didn't have the energy to argue with him any further.
After feeding you soup, he made sure you took your medicine. Then, he laid down on the bed after placing the empty bowl on the nightstand.
"What are you doing?" you asked him, a scowl marking your features as you both reclined on the bed, in close proximity. Without uttering another word, he seized your wrist and pulled you towards him. A shriek escaped your lips as your head found its place on his chest.
"What the hell?" you exclaimed, attempting to rise, but he entwined his legs with yours. He wrapped one strong arm around your waist and the other around your shoulder, drawing you nearer, cherishing every moment of your closeness, yet mindful not to exacerbate your wound.
"Hey, let go of me... Mr. Jeon, what kind of behavior is this? How dare you?" You squirmed within his grasp, attempting to break free. You pushed against his chest and stomach, tapped on his shoulder, trying everything to escape. But did it faze him? Not in the slightest.
"Stay like this, please," his whisper reverberated in your ears.
''No'' you retorted and tried to get up only to fail. ''jerk'' you mumbled. His potent cologne invaded your senses, leaving you slightly lightheaded. You felt the solidity of his chest beneath your head.
Ignoring your efforts, He slid one hand under your neck and began massaging your head, easing the pain. Truth be told, the way he worked his fingers was remarkable. Eventually, you relented and remained still, left with no other recourse. Thanks to the magic in his touch and the medication, the pain in your head began to ebb away.
Feeling your body relaxing, Your eyelids grew heavy, and before long, sleep enveloped your senses. Jungkook peered down at your tranquil face, a smile forming on his lips. He tenderly kissed your head and gingerly slipped out of bed, careful not to disturb your slumber. He tucked you in snugly with the blanket.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed, drawing his attention, as he glimpsed the screen, his expression darkened, and his teeth gritting. Pocketing the phone, he cast one final glance at you before departing the room. From his demeanor, it was evident that-
''He is definitely going to shed a lot of blood today''
