jay sighed, putting his phone back inside his pocket. he doesn't even know why the boy acts like this towards him. but everytime sunoo sees him, his eyes seem to be full of excitement.

excitement? what, is he excited to see me? what for? why? what does he want from me?

it's bugging jay. because it feels like sunoo is the type of boy who shouldn't be friends with him. it's just...wrong.

"park jongseong," he raised his head, looking at the person who called his name.

the secretary's still holding the same notepad, gripping it tight on his right hand as if it's the most important thing he has. he's been like that since seventh grade, and he never changed. they've been classmates since then, but jay stopped acknowledging his presence.

it's because he's friends with that bastard, so i don't want to associate myself with him anymore.

"what?" jay stopped walking before he can enter his class room.

he saw how the boy frowned and wrote something on his notepad. "late again. you'll be cleaning the library later."

he nodded. he's used to the penalties anyways. "yeah sure." he was about to walk away but the boy talked again.

"wait!" he was mumbling something, but jay couldn't hear anything.

"i can't hear you."

"...you better not mess with my friend."

what?

before jay could ask, the secretary was already gone. what the hell was that? mess with his friend? does he mean that asshole?

he stopped thinking when he saw heeseung waving at him.

"did jungwon give you penalties again?"

jay glared at heeseung. "shut up. that guy's annoying. no wonder sunghoon is friends with him, they're both annoying."

"of course they're friends. they're both in the student council for a reason." heeseung clicked his tongue. "when is sunghoon coming back?"

"i don't fucking know. the hell i care."

"dude, he's still your-"

"i won't hesitate to cut off your tongue if you say the next word."

i don't make friends with people who betray me.

sunoo pouted after sending the text. he also texted jongseong this morning, but the guy still hasn't replied. did he receive it or did i text the wrong number?

"dude, why are you staring at your phone like that?" beomgyu eyed him and tried to peek on his phone.

"it's nothing," he quickly hides his phone away.

beomgyu looks at him with suspicion. "you... are you waiting for someone to text you?" he gasps, "you have a boyfriend now?!"

he stares at his classmate with a blank face. "sometimes i wonder what goes inside that brain of yours, or maybe you just don't have one."

"what did you say-" beomgyu was about to say something but sunoo pushed him away when he felt his phone vibrate.

did he finally reply?

classes already ended but jay still hasn't replied, which pissed the hell off of sunoo. he thought that it would be nice to have an acquaintance who looks carefree and doesn't care about rules.

looks like i'm not gonna have a new experience anytime soon. sunoo packed his things and wore his backpack. my next goal would be hiking on a mountain, but i don't think i'll be allowed to do that.

he scratched the back of his head. should i just go in secret again? but the last time i did that, it didn't went well.

"nevermind, i'll just convince him." he murmured to himself.

"convince who?"

"what the fu- jake!" he almost jumped on his seat. he got to preoccupied that he didn't even notice jake in front of him.

jake raised an eyebrow. "what did you say? you'll convince who?"

"what?" he laughed awkwardly. "i think you heard it wrong. i said, i wanna go to the convenience store! let's go!"

sunoo stood up and dragged jake outside of the room, trying to divert the guy's attention.

sunoo's gesture just fueled jake's suspicion that the boy is doing something behind his back.

something's definitely up.
