May 20th 1999
Johnny was sat in his office at Hogwarts, deep in grading his N.E.W.T student papers when a light knock was sounded on the door. "Come in!" Called Johnny, placing his quill back in its holder and folding his arms across each other on the desk. Professor McGonagall opened the door, an envelope in hand. "Ah, Minnie, how, delightful."

"Definitely is, Johnny, definitely is," said McGonagall brightly. "I need you to go visit a new student today," McGonagall smiled, sliding the envelope across the table. Johnny picked it up and his eyes and smile widened. "The Ministry gave him a pardon just now, he's free to retake his education."

"That's brilliant!" Said Johnny, dropping the letter on the desk and slumping back in his chair. "He'll love this, proper wand and everything?"

"Proper wand and everything," McGonagall confirmed with a nod. She left not long after, insisting Johnny should get on with his marking and escorting the new student to Diagon Alley. Once he finished marking, Johnny stuck his head in his fireplace after placing in the Floo Powder and yelled, "Oi, Potter! Get your lazy arse out of bed and come to Hogwarts!"

Johnny smiled, satisfied with how he woke his best friend up and and slumped back in his chair.

"You're a right bastard, you know," Harry grumbled, emerging in Johnny's fireplace.

"Been called worse," Johnny shrugged, sliding the letter across the desk towards Harry. "I thought you might like to help me collect this new student to get his school supplies, for old times sake."

Harry glanced down at the name printed on the letter, and gasped excitedly, nodding his head.

"Knew you would," said Johnny, pocketing the Elder Wand and placing the letter in his breast pocket. Johnny exited his office behind Harry and locked it behind him, placing an Anti-Unlock charm on it.

"How're things going with training?" Johnny asked, knowing Harry, Ron, Selena, Nick, Kieran, Mia and Axel were training to be Aurors in the Ministry. Harry gave a loud laugh, causing Johnny to furrow his eyebrows.

"We were duelling and Mia managed to burn Kieran's hair off," the two fell into fits of laughter, earning a confused looks from students who walked past them. Eventually they made it into the grounds surrounding Hogwarts and Johnny knocked on the door to the familiar hut, a large smile on his face.

"Harry! Professor Grindelwald!" Said Hagrid happily, scooping them both into a bone crushing hug.

"Please, Hagrid, it's still Johnny outside of school hours," said Johnny, reminding Hagrid that it was a Saturday. "Harry and I actually come baring good news."

"Really?" Hagrid asked interestedly, ushering Johnny and Harry into his home and pouring them both a cup of tea in his rather large mugs. Hagrid seemed to freeze as Johnny pulled the envelope out of his pocket and slide it across the table, the green handwriting facing upwards.

Mr. Rubeus Hagrid
The Wooden Hut
Hogwarts Grounds

"You've received a pardon from the Ministry," Harry explained, noticing a large tear run down Hagrid's face and into his long bushy beard. "So you can retake your education, get resorted etc."

"That's if you want to retake your education," said Johnny. "You can continue to just be-"

"No, I'll take it! I'll take it!" said Hagrid quickly, wiping away his tears.

"Then I feel like we should be off," said Johnny, glancing down at his watch to see it was already two pm. "I promised Mione' I'd be home by three thirty for movie night."

Hagrid nodded, following Johnny and Harry out of the hut. They apparated to a side street just besides The Leaky Cauldron and entered, seeing the pub packed like it used to be. The low buzz of chatter stopped when they walked in. Everyone seemed to know who the group of three were; they waved and smiled at them, and, Tom, the bartender, reached for three glasses, saying, "The usual, fellas?"

"Can't, Tom, we're on Hogwarts business," said Johnny, clapping his hand on Hagrid's elbow. "This young man is here to get his Hogwarts supplies," Tom and the other people who overheard congratulated Hagrid with firm handshakes and hugs. Johnny and Harry led an overwhelmed Hagrid through the bar and out into a small, walled courtyard, where there was nothing but a trash can and a few weeds.

"Three up... two across... " Harry muttered. He tapped the wall three times with the point of his wand. The brick he had touched quivered -- it wriggled -- in the middle, a small hole appeared -- it grew wider and wider -- a second later they were facing an archway onto a cobbled street that twisted and turned out of sight.

"Welcome," said Harry, "to Diagon Alley."

Hagrid let out a tearful chuckle as he walked alongside Harry and Johnny into Diagon Alley which was once again blooming since Voldemort's downfall. Shoppers greeted them with waves and smiles, little kids were running around and laughing, stepping up to give Johnny and Harry hugs and their thanks from saving their world from Voldemort.

"Alright, lads!" Two voices yelled from the door of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. They turned to see Fred and George, in their robes of magenta, waving at them with identical grins on their faces.

"Business booming as usual then?!" Johnny called back, stopping for a moment.

"Course it is," said Fred, rolling his eyes.

"Grindelwald's Fake Elder Wand is selling out pretty quickly," George grinned. They said their goodbyes and Johnny caught up to Hagrid and Harry, who were just about to enter Gringotts.

"I don't think they like us anymore," Johnny whispered in Harry's ear, briefly remembering how they escaped Gringotts over a year ago. Harry grinned slightly as they approached the desk.

"I need to access the Hogwarts fund vault," said Johnny, placing the key on the desk in front of the goblin. "Rubeus Hagrid is here to buy his school supplies," the goblins eyes swept over Johnny and Harry for a brief moment before it huffed, motioning for the three of them to follow along. After an eventful cart ride which ended with Hagrid vomiting over the edge of the cart, they were in front of the Hogwarts Vault.

"Collect anything you may need and go back up with Harry," said Johnny, turning towards the goblin. "I'd like to enter my vault, you know the one," the goblin nodded and motioned towards the cart once more. It was a much more pleasant experience, reaching his vault like a normal person, than falling three hundred feet. The goblin unlocked Johnny's vault and the human stepped in.

Turns out Griphook was killed not long after betraying Johnny, Harry, Ron and Hermione and the Sword of Gryffindor now hung on the wall of Johnny's vault, alongside the Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak. Underneath the Stone, Cloak and the Sword sat seven objects. Seven objects which were once connected to Voldemort's soul.

A pair of Harry's broken glasses, a snakes skull, a diary, Hufflepuff's cup, Ravenclaw's diadem, Slytherin's locket and Marvolo Gaunt's ring sat there, not a speck of dust on them as they sparkled from all the Galleons, but Johnny didn't want them. His eyes were set on the mirror in front of him. He approached it slowly, and looked into it.

His desire had changed since First Year. It no longer showed Evelyn and Jakob, it showed a young woman in her early twenties, with curly black hair stopping at her shoulders, with a radiant smile. Yes, the woman was Bellatrix Black in her twenties, smiling at Johnny in the reflection of the mirror.

Johnny watched as Bellatrix's reflection placed her hand on his shoulder, and Johnny reached up to place his hand there, but felt nothing but the material of his blazer. Bellatrix smiled sadly at Johnny, through the mirror.

"I've got to go now," said Johnny quietly. Bellatrix nodded.

"I love you," Bellatrix mouthed. Johnny smiled sadly, exiting his vault after taking once last look around at the mountains of gold and items he inherited from Bella and Dumbledore. Outside of Gringotts, Johnny glanced around to see Harry and Hagird standing outside of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, with a very annoyed looking Madam Malkin.

"I swear they're getting bigger and bigger each poxy year," Johnny heard Madam Malkin mutter as he approached the group of three.

"All righ' Johnny?" Hagrid asked, earning a small smile from Johnny, who was beaming at how excited Hagrid was.

"All good, Hagrid," Johnny nodded, twirling the Elder Wand in his pocket. "I've already written ahead to Flourish & Blotts and Apothecary, they're sending your items to your hut."

"I can't thank yeh enough, Professor," said Hagrid getting teary eyed once more.

"It's got nothing to do with me," Johnny shrugged. "You need to be thanking the School Council and Kingsley."

"I'll write to them as soon as I get back!"

"Good man," Johnny smiled, turning towards Harry. "Want to come around for dinner tonight? Hermione's making spaghetti."

"Can't," Harry shook his head. "Going to the Weasley's family dinner to celebrate Bhavna's birth," Harry and Johnny smiled at the mention of baby Bhavna Weasley, Ron and Padma's baby girl. Once Hagrid had gotten a fresh set of Hogwarts robes, they made their way down to Oliviander's, Hagrid's Umbrella/Wand having been broken by the Death Eaters during the war.

As they entered, a bell rang overhead. Mr. Oliviander, who was already behind the desk, beamed at them.

"Well this is an extraordinary group of people," said Oliviander, back in good health since the war. "Rubeus Hagrid! How nice to see you again... Oak, sixteen inches, rather bendy, wasn't it?"

"It was, sir, yes," said Hagrid.

"Good wand, that one. But I suppose they snapped it in half when you got expelled?" said Mr. Ollivander, suddenly stern.

"Er -- yes, they did, yes," said Hagrid, shuffling his feet. Oliviander nodded and set his eyes upon Harry and Johnny, greeting the two boys who helped save his life with a hug.

"What can I do for you today, boys?" Oliviander asked, walking back behind his desk.

"Hagrid here is actually in need of a new wand," said Johnny, patting Hagrid's forearm. "He's received a pardon from the Ministry and his retaking his education."

"Spectacular!" Oliviander beamed, going to the back of the store. Harry muttered something about a pet, then exited the store. Johnny sat down in a chair by the window, watching Harry enter the pet shop while Hagrid was still trying multiple wands.

"Johnny! I did it!" Hagrid beamed, showing off a new gorgeous wand to his Professor.

"That's brilliant, mate," Johnny patted Hagrid's back. "The usual seven galleons?"

"On the house, my friends," Oliviander waved them goodbye. When Hagrid and Johnny reached the Main Street, Harry was just exiting the pet shop, a snowy white owl that looked rather like Hedwig in a cage.

"Happy early birthday, Hagrid," Harry smiled, handing the owl over to Hagrid who once again got overwhelmed.

"Aw, boys," Hagrid beamed, a fat tear rolling down his cheek.

"I know it's a bit shitty considering the animals you've dealt with," said Harry, flushing with embarrassment as he scratched the back of his neck.

"She's perfect," said Hagrid, sticking a fat finger between the bars to stroke the owls head. "Thank you both, for a wonderful day."

"No problem," Harry and Johnny said in unison just as Hagrid pulled them in for a one armed hug.
