𝕷OVE HAD ALWAYS BEEN a concept foreign to Gwendolyn Delphi Collins. A regular in the foster care system, she spent the majority of her life being passed around from family to family, never staying longer than a few months. Eventually, after the first few families she went through, Gwen soon learned her place in the lives of the people who would take her in; that which she never truly belonged in. And for her 14 years of life, she was deprived of the love and affection she so desperately wished to receive from a family of her own, merely being rendered an outsider looking in. However, it wasn't that the young girl didn't know love- she did. It's just that she was only familiar with a different kind of love. For instance, Gwen loved reading, but being an action with no personal feelings of its own, reading was incapable of loving her back.

𝕬ND FOR A FEW fleeting months, she became familiar with platonic love; relishing in the feeling of finally having someone who cared about her, before she eventually ruined it, as she did all things, with her self destructive behavior. The poor teenager wouldn't recognize something good even if it stared her right in the face. So, instead of learning from her experience with her ex-friend, Gwen reburied herself in her books, letting them take her far away from her sorry excuse of a life, to worlds filled with magic, romance, mythical beasts, and adventure. And although she loved books in general, no matter the genre, Gwen for some inexplainable reason, found herself drawn particularly to the Harry Potter series.

𝖀NLIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN her life, Harry Potter, despite being a fictional series created by a rather controversial woman, made her feel like she belonged. And she truly believed that Hogwarts, a nonexistent school for witches and wizards in Scotland, was more her home than her adoptive family's house had ever been. However, every morning Gwen was met with the harsh, cold, reality that she could never go home, and the closest she would ever get to going would only be in books and her dreams.

𝖀NTIL ONE DAY, A conveniently placed flash of lightning proved the impossible to actually be quite possible, thus uprooting her entire life as she is forced to begin anew in a world she's all too familiar with, all the while being tasked with using her future knowledge to change the fates of those who have yet to die. But when the girl who knew too much catches the eye of the boy who lived, everything spirals out of control as their own horrible fate is set into motion- for she was the sun, a girl from another world, and he was the moon, a boy born at the brink of night's death. And they were star-crossed lovers: the moon and the sun. The moon fell as the sun rose, and never were the two destined to meet . . .

HEY Y'ALL, IT'S SOPHIE AND i'm (unsurprisingly) back again with yet another 'stuck in another universe' fic, because it's like the only thing on my mind right now, especially once i read a shit ton of marvel comics about the multiverse after MoM disappointed greatly, only I swear this one is different and has its own twist!! I've recently gotten back into Harry Potter and am on my 12th re-read, so naturally, I thought 'why not make a Harry Potter fanfic?' and here we are. You're welcome, nerds. Gwen is my baby and I've been trying to get her onto the page for years now, only it never worked out because I am a procrastinator in school and life in general, but I will be fighting the writer's block gods without a hint of mercy and there WILL be biting, so expect my beloved to finally make an appearance soon.

ALSO, FOR ALL THE DRACO stans out there, apologies but this is not a draco x oc fic in the slightest, though Gwen does befriend him at some point. However, Draco's a bleach blonde bully who deserves several punches in the face from Hermione, but his redemption arc is kind of a slay and he's ✨just misunderstood ✨ so he's alright. Oh, and a heads up that this fic will be absolutely filled to the brim with queerness, so expect a whole lot of Remus x Sirius that we were so wrongly robbed of. Anyways, I hope that you enjoy this story and I can't thank you all enough for just being here and reading this sentence.
