ASTRID AND THOR RUSHED INTO A LABORATORY TO FIND BRUCE AND TONY LOUNGING IN FRONT OF LOKI'S SPECTRE. Nick Fury led them in, but stopped short at the scene of the lazy scientists.

"What are you doing, Mr Stark?" Nick asked, anger seeping from his voice.

"Uh... kinda been wondering the same thing about you."

Nick rolled his uncovered eye. "You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract."

Bruce sat up as he spoke. "We are. The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile."

"And you'll get back your cube, no mess, no fuss," Tony shrugged his shoulders as he pulled up a confidential file on the monitor labelled 'Phase 2'.

"What's Phase 2?" Astrid asked, leaning over Tony's shoulder to peer at the monitor.

Just then, Steve barged in and dropped an assault rifle in the table. It loud clatter caught everyone's attention. "Phase 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons."

"What?!" Astrid and Thor questioned in shock at the news.

"We gathered everything on the Tesseract. This doesn't mean we're-"

Tony interrupted. "I'm sorry, Nick..." he pushed the monitor over to Nick, showing the now unlocked Phase 2 file, showing a variety of weapon plans. "What were you lying?"

Natasha then walked through the doors. Bruce glared at her accusingly. "Did you know about this?" He asked, his anger peeking through.

"You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?" She questioned, knowing that the more activated he gets, the more likely of the monster coming out. "Loki's been manipulating you."

"And you been doing what exactly?"

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you," Natasha pointed out the the scientist.

Bruce scoffed. "Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

"Because of them," Nick answered, pointing to Astrid and Thor.

"Us?" Astrid asked, wanting clarification and elaboration.

Nick carried on with his explanation. " Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned."

"Our people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor explained.

"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled."

"Like you controlled the cube?" Steve accused.

"You're work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war." Astrid carried on, crossing her arms over her chest as she glared at Nick.

"A higher form?" Steve questioned.

Nick sighed. "You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."

Tony sat up in his seat, twirling a pen through his fingers. "Nuclear deterrent. 'Cause that always calms everything right down."

The one eyed man scoffed. "Remind me again how you got your fortune again, Stark?"

The group conservation grew into an argument. Thor sighed and shook his head. "I thought humans were more evolved than this," he mumbled to Astrid who nodded with a chuckle.

"Excuse me! Did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?!" Nick exploded.

"Did you always give your champions such mistrust?" Thor asked.

Astrid sighed as she listened to the continued argument. As the humans continued to bicker, they did not notice the blue glow that flickered from Loki's spectre.

"You speak of control, yet you court chaos," Thor argued to the humans in the room.

"It's his M.O., isn't it? I mean, what are we, a team? No, no, no. We're a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We're... we're a time-bomb!" Banner spoke as if he was having a crisis.

"You need to step away," Nick spoke to Banner, telling the scientist he needs to calm down.

Tony wrapped an arm around Steve as he spoke. "Why shouldn't the guy let off some steam?"

"You know damn well why! Back off!" Steve shouted, shoving Tony's arm off of him.

Tony glared at the solider. "Oh, I'd like to see you make me."

The two egotistical men continued to bicker as Astrid's own temper and patience was wearing thin. "You people are so petty and tiny." Thor said.

Banner grew more and more irritated. "Agent Romanoff, will you escort Dr Banner back to his..." Nick ordered, drifting off as he realised his room on the ship was taken by Loki.

"Where? You rented out my room!"

"The cell was just in case-"

"In case you needed to kill me! But you cant! I know! I tried!" He yelled. He paused for a moment before carrying on. "I got low. I didn't see an end, so I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out! So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk!" He looked to Natasha as he visibly grew more angry. "You wanna know my secret, Agent Romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?!"

Everyone in the room grew worried, the agents placing their hands on their guns as Thor and Astrid raised their fists, ready to fight Banner as he held Loki's spectre in his clenched fists

"Banner, put down the spectre."

Bruce was confused as he looked down to his hands, seeing the spectre there. Not realising what he was doing, he grew weary. The computer beeped and everyone turned their heads to the noise. Bruce placed the spectre back down. "Sorry, kids, guess you don't get to see my party trick after all."

"Has it located the Tesseract?" Astrid asked, pointing to the monitor.

"Sure has, Twilight Sparkle," Tony mocked, using a nickname he coined for the magical queen. "I can get there faster."

"The Tesseract belongs on Asgard or Menvollr. No human is a match for it," Thor spoke. Tony turned to leave but Steve grabbed his arm, halting his movements.

"You're not going alone." He said.

"You gonna stop me?" Tony provoked.

Steve scoffed. "Put on the suit and we'll find out."

"Children," Astrid mumbled, causing Thor to chuckle by her side.

"Oh my god!" Bruce yelled as he finally noticed the glowing sceptre.

Just then an explosion could be heard coming from the side of the ship. Everyone is thrown in every direction. Steve, Fury and Tony are thrown across while Natasha and Banner is down in the lower equipment room. Thor managed to grab a hold of Astrid before he hit her head on the corner of a table.

Steve looks up at Tony. "Put on the suit!" He ordered.

"Yep!" Iron Man agreed.
