jpg is a file format smaller in size. they're often not ideal for typography, crisp lines, or even photographs with sharp edges bc they may came out as blurred/unclear. the image is compressed under this file format and this file format isn't practiced much among designers. 
but although thus is the case, the file is still commonly used for when there is a size limit [like on wp]

pngs is a file format seen bigger in size and w better quality. this file type also supports transparent graphics. it is more commonly used among designers.

this file type supports animations and transparency. yeah thats all i know bye-

okay i know that wasnt much, but this chapter was for only those who doesnt know the difference between these file types okay.
