North shoots out of a chimney, hollering and hooting as he playfully glares at the others. "Quickly, quickly!!" He encourages.

He leaps over Jack, falling into another chimney as Jack races after him, his eyes darting around and looking for (Y/N).

He hears a cheer coming from his right, his head shooting up and eyes widening as he stares at (Y/N) racing alongside Bunny, big grins plastered on their faces.

He smiles wide, gliding over Bunny, he shoots the rabbit a sly smile. "Hop to it, rabbit! Me and (Y/N) are waaaay ahead of you!"

"Oh please.." Bunny replies, hopping quickly from building to building as Jack rolls his eyes. "Look, I'd tell you to stay out of my way, but really, what's the point? 'Cause you won't be able to keep up anyway!"

(Y/N) snorts, swiftly spinning around and flying besides Jack with a grin, "Is that a challenge?"

"Yeah, cotton-tail!" Jack mocks, smirking.
Bunny narrows his eyes with his own smirk as he looks between the two, "Oh, you don't wanna race a rabbit, mates."

Jack and (Y/N) gasp as Bunny takes off, both nodding and grinning to each other as they race after him.

"A race?! Is it a race?" North pops out of a chimney with a wide grin, hopping into another one. "This is going to be-" he pops out of another, "Epic!!"

"Four bicuspids over there!" Tooth directs,
Sandy nodding as he rushes to it. "An incisor two blocks east! Is that a molar? They're everywhere-!"

She gasps and yelps in pain as she runs into a dentist billboard. (Y/N) cringes as she peeks down at Tooth, gliding down and gripping the women's arm gently.

Tooth leans into her touch, sighing softly as she sends a small smile to the girl.

"You okay?" (Y/N) mumbles, making Tooth nod as she holds her nose.

She hums gently, flying up to Jack with Baby Tooth. "It's been a really long time since I've been out in the field."

"How long is a long time?" Jack questions with a raised brow and a grin, (Y/N) tilting her head, waiting for a reply.

"Well..four hundred and forty years, give or take," she shyly admits, gasping and pointing before rushing to another tooth.

Baby Tooth shrugs with a grin as the two look at her, Jack in confusion and (Y/N) in amusement.

...

Jack snickers as he climbs into a window, pausing when he sees Bunny and (Y/N) already inside.

Bunny laughs mockingly at Jack as he tosses the tooth to (Y/N), making Jack glare at him before freezing him.

(Y/N) gently sets her coin under the child's pillow, ghosting her fingers against the child's head, a faint humming passing through her palm.

Jack watches her with a tilt of his head, deciding not to speak as they hop through the window and quickly catch up with the others, Bunny cursing them as they leave.

...

North flies off to his next destination in his sleigh. He grins widely as he pops up behind a bed with two sleeping girls.

"Twins!" He exclaims happily as he kisses the teeth with a laugh.

...

"Oh, jackpot!" Bunny mumbles as he scoops out five teeth from under a boy's pillow. He looks around the room at the trophies, peeking down at the boy's missing teeth.

"Looks like you're a bit of a brumby, ey mate?"

...

North cackles to himself as he approaches a girl, rubbing his hands together.

"Is piece of pie!"

Bunny yelps as North suddenly falls into the hole with him, both getting stuck with their arms pinned down.

Sandy appears into the room shortly afterwards, (Y/N) hovering above him, her knees pulled to her chest as she chuckles at the men's misfortune.

"That's my tooth!!" North whispers harshly, watching with wide eyes as Sandy gently takes the tooth into his palm, high-fiveing (Y/N) as they make their way out.

"Sandy! (Y/N)!!"

...

Jack laughs as (Y/N) races into the sky, her arms outstretched as she does a few flips before hovering, her eyes wide.

She stares out, the towns lights illuminating her face, the soft glow making her feel more alive. She brings her hands up to her chest, sucking in a breath as she looks around.

Jack watches from below with soft eyes, his cheeks turning pink as (Y/N) looks back to him. They stare at eachother for a few minutes before Jack jerks his head to the side, silently asking if she wanted to catch up with the others.

She nods slowly, watching as Jack quickly flies off before bringing her hand up and clutching her shoulder.

She brings her hand up to her face, her eyes glossing over as she looks down at her palm, her breath catching in her throat. In her hand, delicately laying there was sand..

Black sand.

...

Tooth tilts her head as she grabs the tail of a mouse, pulling him out from under the pillow as he squeaks in protest.

Baby Tooth kicks him from her hand, slamming him into a wall and kicking him multiple times before Tooth grabs her wings with a small huff.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Take it easy there, champ! He's one of us." Tooth explains as she looks between the two.

"Part of the European division. Ca va?"

The mouse leaps to his feet, angrily squeaking and throwing his hat down before stomping away.

...

Bunny snickers as he looks under a pillow, tilting his head as he sees an arrow pointing somewhere.

"..uh.."

North laughs triumphantly as Bunny looks back at him, mockingly pointing before rushing away.

Bunny tosses and catches a tooth with a smirk, his smile falling as he slips.

"Crikey!"

(Y/N) snatches the tooth as Bunny slips, tossing it to Jack as he laughs.

Sandy uses his sand whip to steal the tooth, making both exclaim in protest as he flies off on his cloud.

...

North dances across a roof, hopping into another chimney with a laugh, unknowingly hopping quickly towards a certain cotton tail rabbit.

Bunny chuckles, lighting a match and slowly lowering it on the fireplace.

"Ho..ho..ho.."

North screams as he lands on the fire, smoke puffing out as he falls.

...

Tooth looks between everyone with a wide smile as they hold up their bags of teeth.
(Y/N) had a slightly smaller bag than Jacks, North's being the largest and Bunny and Sandy coming close.

"Wow! You guys collect teeth and leave gifts as fast as my fairies!"

Everyone deflates slowly, their smiles freezing on their faces. "..you guys did leave gifts, right?" Tooth questions quickly, everyone shrinking away at her stare.

She turns to (Y/N), "(Y/N)??" The girl shrinks away more, her face slowly becoming red in embarrassment.

...

Sandy collects a handful of coins, the rest waiting in line as (Y/N) and Jack quietly bicker about who would be going next in line, shoving and pushing each other as they glare harshly.

...

They go around setting coins under children's pillows, not forgetting each time they collect a tooth now.

...

North leaves candycanes when he runs out of coins, Bunny leaving three beautifully painted eggs next to a child's pillow.

...

Sandy enters the room with an eager grin as he holds a coin, pausing when he sees North staring at him with an excited smile.

North bellows a laugh as he plugs in an entire Christmas tree with presents underneath, making Sandy glare at him before tossing the coin.

A little boy watches with wide eyes as all the fables fly past his window, dropping his sippy cup with a agape mouth.

(Y/N) sighs heavily as she steps out of a window, her bare feet scraping against the cold roof tiles. She hobbles around the roof, watching with a small smile as she watches North hop from chimney to chimney.

She sighs once more, her gaze flickering down and landing on a couple, a man and women, standing near a bus stop, the man shyly looking around and gripping the girls shoulder, an apologetic look on his face.

(Y/N) tilts her head curiously, hoping down the roof and landing on a closer roof, now in ear shot of what the two were talking about.

"..so sorry!" The man apologies profusely, bringing his hand up and dabbing a tissue against the ladies shoulder, pulling back and revealing a large coffee stain imprinted against the women's white blouse.

"It's alright really!" The women waves him off, a small laugh leaving her as he continues to rub away at the stain, only making it smudge more across her collar. The man sighs in defeat, wringing his hand together and tangling them into his hair.

"..this is such a disaster.." he mumbles, his face burning with embarrassment. (Y/N) frowns at the man, her hair flapping in the wind as she looks up to the moon, shining brightly against her skin.

The women sighs heavily, bringing her arms up, she wraps them around the man's head and brings him close, his forehead landing comfortably between her shoulder and neck.

"Worst first date ever..right?"

(Y/N) whips her head around, her eyes landing on Jack, sitting perched against his staff. He watches the couple with a small smile, waving his hand and creating small snowflakes around the two.

The women looks up and gasps, the man doing the same and smiling as a few snowflakes get caught in his dates hair, causing him to brush them away with a hum.

(Y/N) watches with a wide grin, slowly nodding her head, petals from a nearby tree fall around the couple, causing them to laugh loudly at the mixture of snow and flower petals.

They begin to walk away, hand in hand, their previous dilemma long forgotten.

(Y/N) faces her friend, her smile never leaving as she nods to her friend in thanks. "Well done Mr Frost.."

"Oh well, I just figured he deserved a second chance, don't you?" Jack quirks a brow at his friend, his eyes darting around her face and landing on her lips.

(Y/N) chuckles loudly, clapping her hands as she walks to stand directly infornt of him. "Of course.." she watches as Jack takes a bold step forward, his face so close that (Y/N) could feel his cold breath against her cheeks.

"You okay?" He asks, his gaze softening as he searches his friends expression, her furrowed brows and hard eyes.

(Y/N) nods, "Just thinking.."

"..about?"

She looks up, her lips forming into a tight smile, "..Kozmotis.." Jack frowns at the familiar name, not sure where he heard it from, but it gave him a bad feeling.

"Koz..who?" He mumbles, squinting his eyes and taking his brain for an idea of who the mysterious person was.

(Y/N) puffs out her cheeks, sliding down and landing on the roof, her legs dangling off the edge. Jack copied her, his hands becoming uncomfortable cold.

"Kozmotis Pitchiner!" She exclaims, her voice filled with wonder and..love. Jack took notice of this, his head quickly becoming fuzzy.

"Oh! He was..beautiful!" She begins, "Very shy when we first met though, but he had such a caring nature, of course he had no idea what he was doing when I first found him.." she laughs gently, her gaze slowly falling.

"Found him..?" Jack questions, his interest becoming more and more intense. (Y/N) nods, "I only met him when Moony decided to bring him back, for what reason I still don't know." She furrows her brows as Jack nods.

"Over time, he slowly began to understand his powers, how to control them..manipulate them.."

"We were a team..we weren't even that important in the children's lives! We were just..happy together!" Jack's eyes widen as small tears begin to cascade down his cheeks, wiping them away quickly before (Y/N) could see.

"But when he realized no one could see him..he was...desperate, for someone, anyone other than me, to see him. He wanted power, but Moony refused it..and then..and then.." her lips quiver, Jack rubbing her back, urging her to continue.

(Y/N) rubs her eyes forcefully, looking to Jack and sighing heavily.

"..and then I found you.."

Jacks eyes widen, his heart skipping a beat as he realizes what she was saying. When they had first met, the rarely hung out, (Y/N) only came around once in a lifetime to check up on the boy, before disappearing to who knows where.

She would come back and tell stories after stories about her adventures to different lands and villages, often speaking about visiting these places with someone who she never bothered to speak the name of.

Jack never pried her about the person, he thought she had found a cute animal to accompany her, but after several centuries her visits became more and more frequent, starting from visiting only once or twice a month, to visiting basically everyday.

She never spoke about the person ever again, in fact whenever Jack tried to ask her about them, she'd shrug him off or pretend not to hear him at all.

"He became so..upset?" (Y/N) questions herself, not sure if that was the right word. "After I began hanging out with you..we became distant, to the point where he just decided to stop showing up anymore.."

"I'm not sure why, but I decided to confront him, and he just..yelled and..screamed.." she sighs heavily, looking at Jack once more.

"He sounded so heartbroken, like I somehow betrayed his trust..but I never said anything, and then he just..vanished.." Jack breaths out heavily, his chest fighting as the story came to a close.

"..I haven't seen him for two hundred years Jack.." she croaks out, her voice scratchy. "And now..he hates me.."

"No..(Y/N) I'm sure he didn't hate you!" Jack denies, his eyes holding sadness for his friend. (Y/N) sighs heavily, shaking her head furiously as she glares at the ground.

"Jack..Kozmotis was his human name." She clarifies, Jack raising a brow and waiting for her to continue.

"His name now..is Pitch Black.."

Jack didn't know what to say, of course he don't know what to say! His lifelong friend just told him that she used to be best buds with the guy that nearly killed Tooth!!

They stare at eachother for a few more minutes, tears quickly flowing down their cheeks. Jack sighs heavily, his brows pulled together as a thought comes to mind.

"Did you love him?"

(Y/N)'s eyes widen at the question, unsure of what to say. After the whole story, that's what Jack took out of it. Whether or not she loved Pitch was not the point of what she was saying, but if she were to decide..

"Jack! (Y/N)!!"

Both spirits quickly wipe their eyes, their sniffles dying out as North hops onto their roof, his smile wide. "Let's go slowpokes!!"

Jack nods quickly, getting up and turning away. (Y/N) sighs, slowly getting up and following after.

...

The group all gather by North's sleigh, getting in and taking off.

North's laugh echoes as he throws his snowglobe, everyone heading to another part of the world.

...

A Nightmare snorts as it watches them disappears, whinnying as it leaps off the building and dives through the sewers.

To inform his master of what he's discovered about his precious Horae..
