North Pole: 300 years later
A loud, booming voice could be heard, singing and humming along to a jumpy and high beat tune. The man sets a large block of ice on top of a work desk, many tools scattered along the surface.
He rolls up his sleeve, the words "Naughty" imprinted against his skin in beautiful cursive.
"Still waiting for cookies!" The man yells in a happy voice, his tone laced with a thick Russian accent. His helpers, or elves, look up from there spot in panic, their faces caked in crumbs.
The man spins in his seat, his voice rising as he continues to hum along to the tune. His elves rush along, the plate of cookies raised up as they make their way towards him.
He pushes aside a few tools, humming in satisfaction as he picks up a small hammer. He pushes a magnifying glass up, peeking through it, he begins carving away at the block of ice, the pieces falling off, in sync with the music.
He laughs happily, a small ice train in his grasp. He blows on it, the extra bits of ice falling to the ground as he sets the sculpture upon a long train track made from ice.
He laughs as it whistles, sliding along the tracks.
"Yes!"
An elf pauses, looking at his friend and pointing to him with an angry look, gesturing to the tray. His friend spits the cookie, his friend turning in disgust as the man turns to them.
"Ah! Finally!"
He grabs a cookie, munching on it and humming in appreciation before laughing as he watches the train.
The train flies up as he dramatically hums, waving his arms as it grows wings and flies towards the door.
The door was slammed open, a Yeti mumbling gibberish as the train shatters onto the floor. "Ah!" The man exclaims in disappointment, gesturing to the train.
"Oh!" The Yeti gasps, his hands flying to his face.
The man yells in sadness, shaking his hands near his face. "Oh!!" The Yeti yelps, exclaiming in fear.
"How many times have I told you to knock?"
He demands with a sigh, his voice full of anger.
The Yeti exclaims, gesturing around and huffing.
"What?" He rises, "The Globe?" He grabs his sword, making his way out of his workspace.
...
"Shoo with your pointy heads!" He bellows as he walks through the elves.
"Why are you always under boot?"
He pushes through two Yetis, watching the Globe in confusion as the bright lights begin to dim, some flickering out.
"What is this?" He glares, watching more lights die. "Have you checked the axis? Is rotation balanced?!" He demands, the Yeti quickly replies with the same amount of confusion.
The man looks up as papers begin to fly around, black sand quickly crawling across the Globe. His eyes widen as the elves all jingle around, rushing away in fear.
He watches as the sand swallows the Globe before it quickly raises upward, dispersing with a burst. The elves duck behind objects, watching in fear as the wind settles.
The black sand races across the floor, making the Yetis and North gasp as they watch it. It moves up and forms the silhouette of person, a man, laughing wickedly before disappearing.
"Can it be...?" The man gasps, "Dingle!"
The elves jump, each one ready. They look at each other in confusion, wondering which one he meant.
"Make preparations. We are going to have company!"
He grabs a handle, twisting it and pushing it, outside, the Northern Lights appear, spreading a cross the earth and summoning a few important beings.
...
A small fairy chitters as she quickly flies around, approaching a sleeping child, her body a mix of green and blue.
She holds a shiny coin, and wiggles under his pillow, swapping the coin for the tooth. The boy yawns, otherwise undisturbed.
...
Thousands of toothfairies make their way to the palace, all doing their jobs.
"Eighteen central incisors!" A women instructs quickly, her wings fluttering like that of a hummingbird. "Moscow, sector nine, twenty two incisiors, eighteen premolars."
A fairy places the tooth she collected into a special golden container just for that child, tucking it away as she awaits her next move.
"Uh-oh! Heavy rain advisory!"
Other fairies get their coins, alert as Tooth speaks.
"Des Moines, we've got a cuspid at twenty-third Maple. Head out!" She instructs, gasping as she stops one of her helpers.
"Wait! It's her first tooth," she coos as some fairies gather around her. "Have you ever seen a more adorable lateral incisor in all of your life?" She gushes, looking at the tooth.
"Look how she flossed!"
A fairy squeaks, gaining her attention. She gasps as she looks to where she was pointing, her feathers slightly ruffling at the sight of the Northern lights.
She narrows her eyes, nodding as she flies to North, a handful of fairies following after.
...
"My fellow Guardians.."
A little girl falls asleep, smiling softly as yellow sand hovers above her, giving her sweet dreams of her playing soccer.
"It is our job to watch over the children of the world and keep them safe, to bring wonder, hope, and dreams."
A small, round man waves his arms, controlling his magic to spread across to every sleeping child.
"And so I have called us all here for one reason, and one reason only. The children are in danger."
He looks towards the Northern lights with
wide eyes, narrowing them in confusion before he changes his sand cloud into a plane.
He adjusts his goggles, and drives off, leaving golden sand in his wake.
...
"An enemy we have kept at bay for centuries has finally decided to strike back."
Colorful Easter eggs waddle around a small tunnel, spinning as a grey blur flashes past them.
"We alone can stop him.."
The blur aces through his tunnels, flowers sprouting behind him as he hops
along.
His ears swivel as a tunnel opens up, and he leaps out, the large rabbit stand tall, two boomerangs strapped to his back. He inhales deeply before quickly hugging his arms, shivering from the cold.
"Oh! It's freezing!" He sighs, and begins racing the rest of the way. "Oh, I can't feel my feet! Can't feel my feet!"
...
"Cookies? Eggnog, anyone?" North questions as sandman flies around the globe.
"This better be good, North!" Bunny angrily replies, puffing some warm air onto his freezing paws.
"Sandy! Thank you for coming," North greets as the little man jumps from his plane, floating to him. He waves his arms on question, making
North nod.
"I know, I know, but I obviously would not have called you all here unless it was serious." North explains, making Tooth gently shush her fairies. "The Boogeyman was here!"
Bunny looks up from the fire, alert. "At the Pole!"
"Pitch?" Tooth gasps, flying towards him.
"Pitch Black? Here?" She looks at sandman, making him look at her before facing North.
"Yes," he nods, gesturing dramatically to the globe. "There was black sand, covering the Globe!"
"W-what do you mean, black sand?" Bunny questions, hopping and joining his side as he paints an egg.
"And then a shadow!"
"Hold on, hold on. I thought you said you saw Pitch," Bunny interrupts, looking at the Globe.
"Well..." North rubs his neck, "..not..exactly."
"Not exactly?" Bunny snorts, shaking his head.
"Can ya believe this guy?"
Sandy shakes his head, a question mark forming above it.
"Yeah, you said it, Sandy."
"Look!" North sighs, waving his arm. "He's up to something very bad. I can feel it!" He pauses, patting his stomach.
"In my belly!"
Tooth's fairies float to his stomach, cooing in fascination.
Bunny looks up from North's stomach, "Hang on, hang on. You mean to say...you summoned me here three days before Easter because of your belly?" He demands, pointing to his stomach with his paintbrush.
"Mate, if I did this to you three days before Christmas-!"
Sandman grabs a drink, sipping on it as he listens to the two argue.
"Please, Bunny," North interrupts with a snort, grabbing the egg. "Easter is not Christmas."
Bunny scornfully laughs as North messes with the egg, tossing it and catching it.
"Here we go, North, I don't have time for this!
I've still got two million eggs to finish up!"
Sandman pauses when he looks up before noticing an elf lapping at his drink. He yanks it away, making the elf fall.
"No matter how much you paint, is still egg," North replies, Sandy gasps as he looks up, noticing the moon shining on them.
"Look, mate," Bunny grits out, taking the egg from North. "I'm dealing with perishables!"
Sandy frantically points to the Moon, dropping his cup.
North laughs as Bunny continues, "Right?
You've got all year to prepare!" He yells, painting the egg.
Sandy tries to whistle, only a faint twinkling noise being heard as he does so. North smacks the hand holding the egg, making Bunny yelp as he frantically catches it.
"Why are rabbits always so nervous?" He questions in amusement.
"And why are you always such a blowhard?"
Bunny shoots back as Sandy waves a sand flag above his head, Tooth talking indistinctly.
"Tooth!" North interrupts, making her pause in front of the moon. "Can't you see we're trying to argue?"
"Sorry," Tooth sarcastically apologizes, waving her arms around as the Moon shines brightly behind her. "Not all of us get to work one night a year. Am I right, Sandy?"
He gasps as they look at him, quickly nodding with a smile as he points an arrow up.
Tooth tilts her head in question before gasping as she senses more teeth. "San Diego! Sector 2!" She rambles, addressing her fairies.
"Come on, mate. Pitch went out with the Dark Ages," Bunny shrugs. "We made sure of it."
Sandy deflates in annoyance before noticing an elf licking at the discarded cup.
"I know it was him! We have serious situation," North replies, his voice full of annoyance.
Sandy floats to the elf, angrily looking between the arguing men.
"Well, I've got a serious situation with some eggs."
He raises the elf, violently shaking it so the bell rings loudly, gaining their attention. He huffs, dropping the elf and forming a moon above his head and angrily pointing to the moon.
"Ah! Man in Moon!" North greets when he looks up, "Sandy! Why didn't you say something?"
Sandy puffs out angrily as sand-steam hisses from his ears.
"It's been a long time, old friend! What is big news?"
The moon's light shines brightly over the Guardian symbol on the floor, revealing Pitch's silhouette on the ground.
"It is Pitch," Bunny breathes out, looking at North. North raises his brows with a smirk, patting his stomach.
"Manny..what must we do?"
The light focuses on the symbol, making the floor open up and two large crystals appear.
"What?" North breathes out in confusion. "Uh, guys? You know what this means?!" Tooth grins in excitement.
"He's choosing...two new Guardians?" North looks between the crystals.
"What? Why?" Bunny demands, watching as the crystals light up.
"Must be big deal. Manny thinks we need help."
"Since when do we need help?"
"I wonder who they're gonna be!" Tooth smiles, her fairies chittering.
Sandy forms a four leaf clover over his head.
"Maybe the Leprechaun?" Tooth questions, humming in thought.
"Please not the Groundhog, please not the Groundhog." Bunny chants in fear as the crystals shine brighter.
North gasps in excitement as the crystals reveal the figures. He pauses with wide eyes, looking between the two with a quizzical expression.
Jack Frost stood tall, his hands stuffed into his pockets and staff cradled between his forearm. His hood was pulled up, covering part of his face, though his eyes were still fairly visible, only they weren't trained forward, they were trained to his left.
(Y/N) (L/N) stood proud, her hair now much shorter than what it was many years ago, almost like a pixie cut. She still sported her signature red cloak, her hood pulled back, showing her face. She wore a white dress shirt, black tights that wrapped around her bare feet.
She wore a comfortable smirk, her canines baring as her arms folded behind her back, her legs pulled up, signifying that she was floating. She glanced to her left, her eyes trained on Jack, the two holding eye contact.
Small petals were formed around her head, seeming to slowly fall and caress her face.
"..Jack Frost and Horae!" North exclaimed, surprised at the odd duo. Tooth smiles happily at (Y/N), her wings fluttering as she took in the girls expression.
"Uh. I take it back, the Groundhog's fine.."Bunny shakes his head, his eyes glaring into both figures.
"Hey, as long as he helps protect the children, right?" Tooth lightly scolds as Bunny scoffs.
"But Jack Frost and Horae?!" Bunny yells, shaking his head. "She makes flowers grow, she clogs up my tunnels and gives me allergies!
"And..and he doesn't care about children! All he does is freeze water pipes and mess with my egg hunts! He is an irresponsible, selfish-!"
"- Guardian, both are Guardians." North finishes, starting at the figures in thought.
"Jack Frost and (Y/N) (L/N) are many things, but they are not guardians!!" Bunny exclaims, pointing towards the girls figure.
"You know (Y/N)'s history with Pitch!!"
Both North and Tooth look up with wide eyes, their heads fuzzy as they stare at the (H/C) girls form. It was a risky move putting (Y/N) up against Pitch, considering the type of..history the two shared.
But if the Man in Moon chose her to be a guardian, who were they to object to his decision.
It was a risk they were willing to take.
