So... a lot has happened, huh?
It's strange to see everything shift a bit. First, you had your heart broken, changing your whole self and getting a new person, then all of sudden, you're back to your true self.
You broke things off with your girlfriend. As much as it hurt your heart, you knew you had to do it. She deserves someone better than a boy who pretended to be someone else for the sake of love. You didn't want to keep leading her on, you're not the type of person who would do that.
All you wanted was to find true love, but you knew she wasn't the one. She never was yours in the beginning. Of course, it broke the girl's heart, but she understood. She felt awful that you went through all those steps just to feel an ounce of love. All she hopes is for you to find the one soon enough.
With that, the both of you separated ways.
The first few months were hard on you, with you practically sobbing into your pillow and just hiding away from the world after everything that happened. You just desperately wanted someone to love you ever since your first boyfriend ruthlessly dumped you on that bridge.
Luckily, your family was there along the way to help you back to your feet. They helped you take the hair dye out, all of them collectively letting out a breath of relief when they saw your vibrant colors bloom back. They brought you all of your favorite snacks and took you to your favorite spots in Queensokyo.
Even your father bawled his eyes out with you. If his son cried, then he cried with him as well.
It was a funny sight for your family to see, but they cooed and pampered you so you could revert back to the bubbly and kind boy they came to love.
It did take a few months, but with some love and time, you were back to your original self. Your bright pink and green hair was back and you bounced back on your feet once more. Your bright smile glowed brighter than ever as your cheeks were back to a darker hue under your matching moles.
You are now fourteen years old, meaning that a year has passed from that crazy fiasco. Just a few more months and you were going to enter high school pretty soon enough. It was going to be scary for sure, knowing that classes will just get harder and more new people to see.
Maybe you'll finally meet the person of your dreams.
Ah, but you couldn't get too ahead of yourself. After all, you did apply for a role when you go to high school.
The student council.
They were one of the most highly ranked students that took care of the academy's events, fundraisers, assemblies, and much more. They were the pillars supporting the school, even earning the nickname 'Hashira'.
Only the most intelligent and noble students can join. You tried your absolute hardest to join, trying to get good grades and helping around. You even used your immense strength to your advantage.
That's where this leaves you now.
You were currently waiting, sitting down at your engawa outside where the sun was out shining. It was a nice temperature, the sun rays hitting your beautiful (s/c) skin and made your (e/c) eyes shine bright as ever.
The cherry blossoms were blooming as ever, some petals breaking off from the stem and flowing down. You shifted your feet a lot, scraping the floor underneath you. The cat on your lap was laying down, purring with content as you anxiously stroked your fingers through the soft fur.
That was the only thing making you stay somewhat calm. Today was the day you were going to know whether you were qualified to join the council or not. You bit your lip softly, your brows knitting together with nervousness.
You were terrified of rejection, your head swarming with thoughts.
Were your efforts enough? Should you have tried harder?
Going down deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of your thoughts, your leg started to bounce a bit. Was it you, or was it getting hotter. You tugged on the collar of your shirt, feeling sweat forming on you.
You just wanted to see the verification already, the waiting was slowly killing you with each second.
As if an angel heard your distressed call, a voice started to yell. "(Y/N)! The letter came by!" You gasped, shooting up from the sudden voice. The cat on your lap raised its head a bit in alarm, looking up at you with its golden eyes.
"Ah, coming!" You yelled back. You gleefully looked back at your pet who tilted its head a bit. You put your hands under its armpits, raising it up gently to look at you directly. You smiled brightly at your feline companion.
"This is it, Chobi. Wish me luck!" You giggled out with a cheeky grin, pressing a big smooch to your calico cat. The feline meowed in response. Setting down your furry friend, you stood up properly and dusted your lap before making a mad dash back inside.
Slipping off your shoes, you sprinted through the halls, humming a tune to yourself. Finally reaching towards the front door, your mother was seen waiting with a smile. Hearing the ruckus, she turned to look at you with a gleeful smile as she held the neatly wrapped paper in her hands.
You panted softly, catching your breath as your eyes were trained on the letter. You gulped softly, walking towards your mother. She smiled reassuringly at you, noticing how jittery you were. You shakily reached over towards the letter, carefully taking it from your mother's hands as if it's the most valuable item ever.
Your (e/c) hues stared intensely at the paper, reading the beautiful handwriting that was written on the paper.
This was it. The moment of truth.
With shaky hands, you carefully ripped off the top of the paper. The silence was louder than anything, for some apparent reason. Your heart sped up as you pulled the paper from inside, flipping it open with your delicate fingers.
Shutting your eyes for a brief second, you inhaled softly before reluctantly opening your eyes once more, bringing the paper closer to your vision. Your mother beside you squeezed your shoulder, leaning towards you a bit closer as she bit her bottom lip nervously.
If her son was feeling nervous, then so was she.
Your eyes rapidly glided across the page, soaking up every word like a sponge in water as you read the contents inside.
For some reason, you were very quiet. That concerned your mother greatly. Her brows furrowed with concern, trying to see what you were feeling, but your expression was blank. "Uh... (Y/-" Before she can let out a word, you suddenly let out a high pitched shriek.
Your mother yelped in response, her eyes blowing wide as she staggered back from the sudden sound. Before she could ask what was wrong, you turned to look at your mother, your face bright as your cheeks heated up.
You jumped a bit, leaning up and down on the balls of your heels as you gripped the paper with such force you almost wrinkled and tore it apart during the process. "Mama, I did it! I got accepted!" You squealed, closing your eyes with a large grin as you laughed and giggled with happiness.
You were accepted! You were actually accepted into the student councils where the cool students worked!
The gears in your mother's head turned before clicking, finally putting the pieces together. She lit up, her mouth forming a proud smile. "That's my son!" She praised, wrapping an arm around your buzzing form. You hugged back with such intensity, sunshine radiating off of you as you let out more squeals and jumped on the spot.
This was one of the best days of your life.
Oh, you just had to tell him now!
Somewhere else in Queensokyo was another estate.
The birds were still chirping as the sun was still shining bright as ever. The city was loud, but considering the home was distanced from the city, it gave some sort of peacefulness which was hard to find in a crowded city.
There were faint sounds coming from the home. It... almost sounded like a voice from a male. Taking a closer look, the words were loud and clear. The male in his estate lifted the chopsticks up, bringing the food between the wooden sticks closer up to his mouth.
He opened his mouth, stuffing the food inside. He widened his eyes, his red and orange hues sparkling ever so slightly at the taste. He opened his mouth, his cheeks puffed from the food inside as he grinned widely.
"Tasty!"
He yelled out, his voice booming with the word as the intensity practically shook everything around him like an earthquake. He took another bite, and another, and another as the process repeated. With each bite, he kept yelling out the word, "Tasty!"
He was so caught up in his meal that he didn't hear the faint yelling coming from the side of the dirt path that led up to his home. The volume of the voice grew louder, but he still didn't hear. It wasn't until one shriek finally reached his ears.
"KYOJUROOOOO-KUUUUN!"
The boy jolted up from his seat, the noise startling him greatly. He swallowed the remaining food down his throat, gripping his chopsticks in his fingers tightly that they snapped in two as he held the bento on his lap tightly. "Hm?" Kyojuro hummed, leaning over with a smile and owl-like eyes.
There he saw a boy with pink and green hair running up towards him, a big smile on his adorable features as he skipped and waved his arms like a mad-man. Kyojuro's smile widened, recognizing the other male almost instantly.
"Ah, (Y/N)-san!" He gleefully yelled out. He sat the broken chopsticks down and placed the bento box beside him. He hopped off from his original spot, his long yellow hair with red tips that resembled flames bounced with him.
Kyojuro stood up properly, crossing his arms as he looked at you with his charming smile. "What brings you here on this fine day?" He asked, his voice loud as ever. You huffed slightly, bending down a bit as you placed your hands on your knees to support yourself.
The flaming bright male patiently waited for your answer, pretty much ignoring how you were dying from all that running. Catching your breath, you wiped your sweat and looked back up with sparkles in your big eyes with a large smile.
"I did it! I got accepted!" You answered, excitedly fumbling for the paper in your pocket before stuffing it on Kyojuro's face. Kyojuro hummed in confusion, his hands reaching up to grab the paper that was blocking his vision.
He read the words through his long lashes, his smile still remaining. You waited for his reaction, your hands gripping your palms tightly as you pressed them against your chest, looking at him with a large and excited grin. You shook and bounced in your spot.
Finishing with the reading, Kyojuro let out a booming laugh as his eyes closed while doing so. "Indeed you did! Congratulations, (Y/N)-san! You deserve it!" He praised, handing you back the letter as he patted your shoulder.
He was beaming at you, very proud that his best friend was accepted. Your eyes lit up from the praise, your open wide smile glowing brighter. "Uwaaah, thank you!" You squealed out. Kyojuro grinned at your excited form.
"Aha, that's the bright (Y/N) I know! Hey, we should go grab a bite to celebrate this!" He suggested, his charming smile never fading. It's a wonder how he could hold up a smile for so long.
You gasped excitedly, feeling your cheeks heat up. You pressed your hands against them, your fingers extended as you looked up with sparkling eyes and a large grin. "Eeeeeeeh?! For real!?" Your tone was laced with surprise and excitement, your question bright as sparkles surrounded you.
Kyojuro nodded firmly, confirming his answer. "My treat!" With those words, you jumped excitedly, your mind filled with the possibilities of dishes. Your stomach was going to be very happy after this.
Without wasting a second, you started skipping ahead, singing a small tune as the pink and green braids beside your head bounced with each jump. "Lunch today with Kyojuro-kun! Oh, how fun it will be!" You cheerily sung out, humming along with the lyrics you just made up on the spot.
Kyojuro laughed at your playful form, already on his way to catch up with you. It was a great feeling to see you back.
It was also nice knowing that the two of you will be together in the student council.
