𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏 𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐅-𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃, Iris had seen maybe around twenty or so in her years of being here, which is actually quite a lot if you really think about it. But she never hated them. Never. There was always something positive that came with the chaos, the forest looked greener, the flowers and the fauna looked lively, the ocean was fiercer. Everything happened for a reason. Thats what she liked to think, she really felt like it was never for any ill intent.

Stoms are nature's reset point; it gives back life to sadden places. Forests and beaches, mountains and valleys, plants and animals, ocean and earth, they could be everywhere, and no one can stop them. Not even nature, itself. Thought it can be created, storms die down on their own. Leaving behind a brand-new world.

But the storm that raged upon the camp that night felt different. It felt powerful. More dishevelled. Lightning flashed against the horizon aggressively, waves pounded the shore with such power it was bound to disappear, but not a drop fell in their valley. They were protected again, thanks to the Fleece, sealed inside the camp's magical borders.

Annabeth and Iris were on guard duty that night, the pair had always been on guard duty together, it was a running thing. They were meant to protect the Fleece, and guard the campgrounds.

The two were ecstatic about it, the duo were always happy to go on guard duty. By the duo it was usually just Annie, Iris was usually trailing behind and groaning about it the whole time.

"Come one Iris, we need to get there-." Annabeth would say.

"I knowww, Annie, I know." dragged Iris.

The campers usually felt safe in the hands of the Athena and Aphrodite girls, they were the best fighters in camp. But not tonight, tonight they felt unsafe.

There was a banging on Percy's door, his sleep was crushed by Grover flying inside without waiting for permission. He stuttered trying to get the words out of his mouth.

"Percy!" he stammered. "Iris, Annabeth. . .on the hill. . .they. . ."

The look in his eyes told him something was terribly wrong. Iris and Annabeth had been on guard duty that night, protecting the Fleece. Percy ripped off the covers, he threw on some clothes while Grover tried to make a complete sentence, but he was too stunned, too out of breath. "They're lying there. . .just lying there. . ."

Percy ran outside and raced across the central yard, Grover right behind him, the duo was worried, of course they would be, these were their best friends. Dawn was just breaking, but the whole camp seemed to be stirring, word was spreading.

Something huge had happened, and they all knew. A few campers were already making their way toward the hill, satyrs and nymphs and heroes in a weird mix of Armor and pyjamas, with their weapon in hands.

Chiron galloped up behind them, looking grim. "Is it true?" he asked Grover. Grover could only nod, his expression dazed.

Percy tried to ask what was going on, but Chiron grabbed him by the arm and effortlessly lifted him onto his back. The two thundered up Half-Blood Hill, where a small crowd had started to gather expected to see the Fleece missing from the pine tree, but it was still there, glittering in the first light of dawn.

The storm had broken, and the sky was bloodred, the campers huddled together at the sight.

"Curse the titan lord," Chiron said. "He's tricked us again, given himself another chance to control the prophecy."

"What do you mean?" Percy asked.

"The Fleece," he said. "The Fleece did its work too well."

They galloped forward, everyone moving out of the way. There at the base of the tree, a girl was lying unconscious. Another girl in Greek armour was kneeling next to her and another also in Greek armour kneeled beside her clutching her arm.

"It healed the tree," Chiron said, his voice ragged. "And poison was not the only thing it purged."

That was when Percy realized neither Iris nor Annabeth were the ones lying on the ground. They were the one in Armor, kneeling next to the unconscious girl. When the two saw them, they ran to Chiron.

"It. . . she. . .just suddenly there. . ." stammered Annabeth while Iris came to them slowly, still clutching her arm.

"We. . .we didn't. . .she just came out a-and. . ." struggled Iris, her arm had been slashed but it wasn't terrible, it had been an accident. When the girl appeared out of nowhere, Iris had been shadow fighting, startled she slipped and slashed her arm.

Her eyes were streaming with tears, but Percy still didn't understand. He leaped off Chiron's back and ran toward the unconscious girl.

Chiron said: "Percy, wait!"

He knelt by her side. She had short black hair and freckles across her nose. She was built like a long-distance runner, lithe and strong, and she wore clothes that were somewhere between punk and Goth. She wasn't a camper. He didn't recognize her from any of the cabins.

"It's true," Grover said, panting from his run up the hill. "I can't believe..." Nobody else came close to the girl. Percy put his hand on her forehead. Her skin was cold, but his fingertips tingled as if they were burning.

"She needs nectar and ambrosia," he said. She was clearly a half-blood, whether she was a camper or not.

He took her by the shoulders and lifted her into sitting position, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Come on!" he yelled to the others. "What's the fuck is wrong with you people? Let's get her to the Big House. She needs help."

No one moved, not even Chiron, he didn't bat an eye at Percy's language. They were all too stunned, and then the girl took a shaky breath. She coughed and opened her eyes. Her irises were startlingly blue, light blue, a beautiful blue. The girl stared at him in bewilderment, shivering and wild-eyed. "Who—"

"I'm Percy," he said. "You're safe now. Don't worry."

   "Strangest dream..." she replied.

   "It's okay." said Percy.

   "Dying." she continued.

"No," He assured her. "You're okay. What's your name?"

Even Chiron, Iris, Annabeth, and Grover, who should've been celebrating this moment, were too shocked, way too shocked, thinking about what it might mean for the future. Iris and Annabeth look at each other, knowing what this was about, who this was, and they knew. . .they knew this would change everything.

Percy was holding someone who was destined to be his best friend, or possibly his worst enemy.

"I am Thalia," the girl said. "Daughter of Zeus."
