Reese's heart warmed, her team had become her family over the course of the past years, it was a bittersweet feeling knowing her story at Iowa would soon come to an end.

The front door bursting open caught her attention, voices filling her apartment. "Reese!" Tatianna yelled out, she rolled out of bed, adjusting her pyjama shorts as she opened her door. Avery, Tatianna, Grace and Brylee filling the living room.

"Hi ladies, what are we doing?" She asked curiously, a smile on her face as she hugged her friends. "Movie night, duh." Avery nudged her as they all sprawled on the couch. "I'll make popcorn." Reese opened a cupboard and grabbed two bags, tossing them in the microwave.

"Anyone know when pre-season practices start this year?" Brylee asked as she popped a piece of popcorn in her mouth. "Uhh, December or January I think." Avery shrugged.

"Pretty sure its right after winter break." Reese said from the kitchen as she finished putting the second bag in a bowl. "Ah okay, what are we watching?" Grace said as she aimlessly scrolled Netflix.

"We should do a Twilight binge!" Reese giddily suggested as she jumped onto the couch, the other girls laughing in response. "We always watch Twilight." Tatianna shook her head with a soft smile. "Please, its so good." Reese stuck out her bottom lip, Grace shoving her for her antics.

Eventually, Reese got her way and they were all cuddled up under blankets, Twilight: New Moon playing on the screen. Once the movie ended, Avery began whining about how hungry she was. "Okay, okay. Let's go to Chick-fil-A. I'll drive." Reese laughed as the girls all shot up and ran around grabbing their stuff quickly.

Once arriving, they decided they'd sit inside. However what none of them were expecting was some of the girls from the basketball team to be sitting there eating. Reese's eyes immediately landing on Kate. "Jada!" Grace squealed, running up and hugging the girl from behind as she sat.

Avery, Brylee, Tatianna and Reese following suite, saying their hello's to the girls. Kate, Jada, Caitlin, and Gabbie all waving and telling them to sit with them. "We'll go order first then join you." Reese smiled lightly, her eyes never leaving Kates until Grace dragged her by the arm up to the till.

They all ordered and waited around for their food, before walking over and plopping in empty seats. Reese ended up in between Kate and Caitlin.

"You go by Cait right?" She asked, a fry shoved in her mouth causing Caitlin to snort as she nodded. "Does it ever get confusing, you know. Cait and Kate?" She continued, her head whipping back and forth between the two girls. "Sometimes yeah, but usually context clues make it obvious which one they're talking about." Kate shrugged.

The night was filled with laughter, bonding, and pictures and videos, Jada deciding to go live.

"Hi live! How are you guys doing today?" Jada waved, Kate poking her head into frame with a big cheesy smile on her face. "Oh! And meet the softball ladies." Jada perked up, picking up her phone and panning it to the table.

"Thats Tatianna." She introduced and Tati waved as she took a sip of her drink, then Grace, Avery, Brylee and finally Reese. The comments immediately filled with questions, Reese and Kate had zoned out with each other, the brunette shoving two fries in Kates mouth to make her look like a walrus as she giggled.

Kate retaliated by taking them out of her mouth and trying to hit the girl with them. "Ew Kate! Stop those are all slobbery now you dog." Her words giving off a different vibe than her expression, which was filled with joy as she slapped the fries out of Kate's hands.

"Clocked by Reese." Caitlin piped up with a smirk.

"I know right, aren't they adorable!" Jada brought the phone close to her face and whispered as she read the comments. Kate just gasped in response while Reese rolled her eyes at the dramatics.

Quickly the large group became too loud for the workers liking, and they ended up getting kicked out, Jada's live finding it absolutely hilarious the way they all looked like sad puppies as they left.

"Well it was fun while it lasted, bye guys." Jada pouted before turning the phone to everyone else as they shouted "Bye live!" and waved aggressively.

The group all hung out in the parking lot for a bit, not wanting the fun to end. Most of them sitting in their popped trunks as they socialized. "Im surprised we all didn't become friends sooner." Tatianna mentioned, finding it nice how easily they all clicked.

"I agree, most of us are seniors. I wish we met a couple years ago." Reese rested her head on Grace's shoulder as she sighed, reminiscing her years at the university that made her, her.

"Stop don't remind me." Jada choked, wrapping her arms around Kate and Caitlin who had her sandwiched in the trunk of the blondes car. "We're gonna miss you too." Caitlin's arms intertangled themselves with Jada as she squeezed lightly.

"Let's be for real, Reese you wouldn't have met them back in the day, your ass only cared about ball and class." Brylee laughed lightly. "Okay, okay I get it I was lame." Reese crossed her arms and leaned against the side of her trunk.

"Did you seriously not go out ever?" Kate asked curiously, remembering Grace had mentioned the same thing at the party. "Honestly, probably about four times I did something outside of softball or class." She shrugged. "How on earth did you not go insane?" Gabbie gasped.

"I dunno, I had my people, I didnt feel the need to meet more. And I've always been focused on my athletics and academics, I mean I've never even been in an actual relationship." Reese laughed at herself, sounding like a complete loser. "But I mean, now that I've met you guys I wish I did." She added on, feeling bad about the way she worded it.

"You've never dated anyone? What the fuck?" Caitlin's jaw dropped. "I had flings here and there but nothing that was ever official, I was always too busy for anyone to stick around." Reese ran a hand through her long hair.

Kate's eyes catching the slight flex of her bicep as she did so, her stomach doing flips. She was absolutely mesmerized by the girl in front of her. The moonlight kissing her complexion perfectly, her freckles barely visible, lipgloss shining on her lips. Kate couldn't believe she had only met her recently.

"Take a picture Martin, it'll last longer." Jada whispered in her ear, snapping her out of the trance.

Unfortunately, the night had to come to an end, everyone piling in their cars. Reese, Avery, Grace, Tatianna and Brylee all deciding to stay at Reese and Graces apartment for the night since they had the biggest place.

"You guys excited for classes to start next week?" Brylee spoke up, her tone quiet as they all lazed around on the couch in the darkness of the living room. "Not at all." Avery chuckled. "Kind of, it's bittersweet you know?" Reese yawned, her eyes growing tired.

"Bedtime?" Grace asked, everyone murmuring 'yes's. "Okay me and Reese in our own beds, who's cool on the couch?"

"I can sleep on the couch, its comfy as fuck." Avery volunteered, stretching her legs out. "Okay sounds good, Bry you wanna share with me?" Grace asked, Brylee nodding and standing up.

"Goodnight guys." Reese smiled as her and Tatianna retreated to her room, the two of them crawling into the bed and quickly dozing off.
