REESE WOKE up early, wanting to say goodbye to her friends before they left for a tournament in Florida, she decided she would go to the gym afterwards, putting on a matching red set, and a cropped creme zip up.

It was dark out, Reese creeping through the apartment as to not wake up Grace. She fished her keys out of the bowl and left, when she pulled up to the parking lot outside Carver, a huge bus came into view.

"Hold up!" She yelled, seeing Jada step up. "Reese?" She quirked a brow, peeking her head out as everyone one else turned to look at her. "I wanted to say bye, and good luck!" She smiled, hugging Jada. "Awh, thank you Reesie babe." She returned the hug.

Reese went down the line, saying quick goodbyes to Caitlin, Kylie, Gabbie, and finally Kate. "Good luck Martin." She breathlessly whispered into the blondes ear, her arms wrapped her shoulders, Kate squeezing in response as her arms were placed around her waist. "I don't need luck." Kate winked, flashing her a big cheesy smile while pulling away, making Reese laugh and her heart swell.

"Go kick ass, show em what Hawks are made of." She waved to the team, her words hyping everyone up as they cheered.

Reese opened the door to the quiet gym, it was now 6:30am, no sane college person would willingly go work out at that time, making it Reese's favourite. She popped in her airpods, gravitating to the treadmill, the brunette always warmed up with a jog and stretch no matter what she was hitting. Today, was abs.

She decided to take a few pictures for her instagram, before she got too sweaty. Reese went to the second floor, where there was a yoga/dance studio type room. Grabbing a mat and laying it on the floor, she stretched out her body, before finally getting to her workout.

After 45 minutes, she ended with a plank until failure. Her arms shaking, core burning, breath heavy. Reese always pushed herself too hard, a habit the girl picked up during her childhood. She'd overwork herself to drain out her thoughts, forget the words her parents said to her, push away feelings she believed she couldn't have.

november 25th, 2012.

Reese and her best friend, Serenity, giggled as they tickled each other on the bed. The two having one of their many sleepovers per usual, Serenity fell off the bed as she tried to dodge Reese. "Ow!" She groaned, rubbing her elbow.

"Oh shoot, I am so sorry Reny." Reese gasped, sitting down next to her on the floor, their backs pressed against the bed. "Can you kiss it better?" Serenity bit her lip with a smile, making Reese laugh as she nodded, slowly pecking her elbow. Serenity watched as she did so, brushing her fingers over where her lips touched, a tingling feeling overwhelming her.

The two stared at each other for what felt like hours, eyes flickering to each other's lips. Serenity slowly leaned it, making Reese's breath hitch, but she dint pull away. Her soft lips felt so perfect, so right, against her own. But her mind went to the cross necklace delicately hanging from her neck.

"Reese Windsor!" Her mom's voice screeched, the brunette pulling away from Serenity quickly, her heart dropping to her feet. "Mom-" She tried to get words out, no excuses coming to mind. Reese's father, Mitchell came into view, his face dropping at the sight of his daughter and her best friend tangled up on the floor, red cheeks, disheveled hair.

"You, I want you gone. Now." He yelled, grabbing Serenity's arm, pulling her out of the room. "Dad, stop!" Reese begged, tears filling her eyes, her mother blocking the doorway of her bedroom.

She slowly stepped away once her father came back upstairs, clutching her necklace as fear filled her body. "You are disgusting. Inhumane. This? You don't deserve it, you're going to hell." Her father's eerily calm yet stern voice gave Reese chills, a sob escaping her mouth as he ripped her necklace off.

"No daughter of mine is going to be a faggot." He finished, slapping Reese. The 12 year old girl sobbed once both parents left her room. Her little sister Georgia sneaking in and crawling onto her lap. "What wrong?" She asked, she was only 5. "Nothing Georgie, I love you." Reese sniffed, hugging her.

That was the day, everything changed for Reese. She never heard from Serenity again. She no longer felt warmth and love from her parents. She no longer believed in God.

present day, november 23, 2023.

Reese walked into her apartment, smelling pancakes. "Mmm, smells good!" She perked up, smiling at Grace. "Made extra for you." Her best friend stuck her tongue out. "You're the best." Reese flung her arms around Grace who laughed.

She then quickly rid herself of the sweaty workout set, putting on camo pants and a black crewneck. "Um, excuse me." Grace looked disgusted, making Reese furrow her brows. "What?" She asked. "Go put pants on you fucking weirdo." Grace said seriously, it took Reese a second before she dropped her jaw. "Oh my god, shut up." She shoved Grace, the two of them laughing.

"Whatcha doing today?" Grace asked as they ate their food. "Just running some errands, target, then ulta, I need new primer, and then some groceries." Reese shrugged. "You wanna tag along?" She continued. "Target run? Absolutely." Grace beamed, she adored Target. They both finished eating and Reese waited for her best friend to finish changing scrolling on her phone.

Reese smiled, giggling to herself at her and Kates fake flirting. "Whatcha laughing at?" Grace asked, coming out of her room. "Uh- Just a TikTok." Reese lied, not really knowing why. But Grace nodded, believing the girl.

The two practically ran into Target, both of them loving getting lost in there. "Let's go check out the clothes." Grace grinned, dragging Reese by her arm. She ended up finding a cute white tank, while Grace found a pair of sweatpants she liked.

"We should get trufru." Grace gasped as they walked through the freezer section. "What?" Reese tilted her head. "Trufru!" Her friend yelled, a couple people turning their heads as Reese smiled apologetically. "Is that the like- fruit chocolate shit?" She asked and Grace nodded excitedly.

They ended up getting a shit ton, wanting to try all the flavours. They spent about an hour in the store, Reese getting 2 candles and the shampoo and conditioner she went in for originally. They paid and left, deciding to stop and grab coffees before hitting up Ulta.

"Oh my goddd, I need this." Reese whined, grabbing a packet of nose strips. "Girl what?" Grace gagged, crossing her arms. "Look at my pores bro." Reese pointed at her nose, putting her face closer to Graces. "As if, look at mine!" They bickered back and forth, both of them ending up with nose strips.

Reese got her primer, and they paid then left. Grocery shopping was a nightmare, an activity neither girl enjoyed. But in the end they finally got it done, arriving back at their apartment around 4pm.
