CHAPTER FIFTEEN:
❝︎You Saved My Life❞︎

POLICE AND PARAMEDICS WERE QUICK TO ARRIVE. Liam was forced to stand there and watch as the paramedics tried to bring Alaska back to life. He could feel tears pull to his eyes, his heart beat quickening with each electric shock that was administered through Alaska. He was being held back by Scott and Malia, knowing that he wanted to run forwards and just bring her back himself. But they knew that they had to let the paramedics do their job. Just when Liam was about to fall to his knees in defeat, the words he had been waiting for filled his ears.

     "We've got a pulse!"

She was alive. Alaska was alive and her heart was beating. He wanted to ride with her, but then he was forced to stay for questioning with the cops. He watched with relief and fear as the ambulance drove off with Alaska in the back of it. Malia and Scott's grips loosened as they carefully let Liam go once they knew he wasn't going to run after the moving vehicle. Instead they all turned their attention to Stiles' father.

     "What the hell happened here?" Noah Stilinski whispered, keeping his voice low as he looked between the three teenagers whilst his police officers started to tape off the crime scene. He moved them away a little bit.

     "We don't know." Scott answered truthfully.

     "What we do know is that Alaska Waldrop has been following me around in limbo form for almost two weeks now. She never told me the details, but what we do know is that this was her step-father's doing." Liam paused, clenching his jaw for a moment as he glanced at the place Alaska had been only moments prior. "Sheriff, is she going to be okay?"

     "I don't know." Noah answered. "That's a question for Scott's mom." He sighed. "Alright, let me give you guys a ride to the hospital. When she wakes up one of you call me immediately. If it was really her step-father, I'm going to need to know exactly what happened. Because this right here is solid proof, I just need to make it even more reliable by speaking with her." The three nodded before jumping into the back of his car, watching as he sped down the roads before pulling into the hospital parking lot.

The three were quick to jump out with Liam running towards the hospital doors, sliding to a stop when Scott's mom appeared in front of him, explaining to the group that she was going into surgery and that she had lost a lot of blood. There was a high chance that she was going to make it. They were forced to wait in the waiting room with Lydia and Stiles soon joining them. Liam was getting more and more worried by the second, his knee bouncing up and down with worry.

     Hours passed, no one moved. Finally a doctor walked out, a clipboard in his hand as he called out Alaska's name. The group of five teenagers were quick to stand up. Liam was the one to walk forwards, desperation in his eyes. "Is she going to be alright?"

     The doctor nodded his head, a small smile on his face. "She's going to be just fine." Liam sighed a relieved sigh. "She isn't awake right now, but if you would like to see her you can. She needs rest. She's been through a lot." Liam nodded his head, watching as the doctor walked away before he turned his head to look back towards the others.

     "Go." Scott encouraged him. "We'll wait until she wakes up. We don't want her to be too overwhelmed when she comes back to the world of the living."

Liam nodded his head before carefully making his way through the hospital, coming to a stop when he found Alaska's room. He hesitated for a moment before carefully opening the door, peeking inside to see Alaska laying there with her eyes closed, bandages covering most of the visible parts of her body. It made Liam clench his jaw in anger.

    He sat down beside of her bed, carefully grabbing her hand and closing his eyes and relishing in the fact that he could physically hold her hand. "I'm sorry I couldn't get to you sooner," He whispered. He stayed there, his head placed on the bed as he slowly started to fall asleep with his hand not once leaving hers.

She didn't wake up for a few more hours, and when she did it had been the next morning. Alaska stirred, groaning in pain when she tried to move. She slowly blinked her eyes open, recognizing that she was in a hospital room. She turned her head, frowning slightly when she felt a pressure on her hand only to smile when she realized who it was. She softly whispered Liam's name and he awoke with a jump.

     When he clamed down, Liam turned his head towards Alaska, taking a moment to realize her eyes were open. "Alaska?"

     She smiled at him. "Hey."

     "You're awake," He breathed.

     "Liam, you saved my life." She squeezed his hand gently. "Thank you."

     He sighed. "Don't thank me yet. The Sheriff wanted me to call as soon as you woke up. He wants to know the details of your attack."

     Alaska swallowed thickly, the thought of reliving what had happened to her making fear fill her veins. "Okay."

     "Hey, I'll be right here the whole time."  Alaska nodded.

When Sheriff Stilinski arrived inside the hospital, Alaska didn't leave out any detail. It got worse and worse the more that she spoke. It was heartbreaking. Listening as Alaska explained the death of her mother and how it had made her step-father turn to the severe use of drugs and alcohol to the point he was either high or drunk every night. One night he had come in both high and drunk, and though Alaska had done nothing wrong he not only brutally beat her he also raped her, pouring her body into the woods once he was done with her and leaving her there to die.

As she spoke, her eyes never left Liam's, almost as if she was telling him everything instead of the sheriff. He held her hand the entire time, watching with heartbreak as the tears spilled from her eyes before finally it was too much for her and she grew unconscious once more. She had given Noah all that he needed.

Storming out of the hospital, Noah was quick to send his entire team searching for the man. And when he found him it took everything in him not to pull his gun and kill the man for what he'd done to such a innocent girl that had only been trying to live her life. He had never arrested someone quicker than he had on that night, dragging the man to jail and holding him there until he could get a trial.

And through it all, Liam never once left Alaska's side. Refusing to do so. He wouldn't let anyone harm her ever again. Not if he could help it.

This is the end of part one of this book. Alaska has been through a lot, and in the next half of this book I'm going to do everything to make sure that she and Liam get the happy ending that they deserve. Serious topics were placed in this chapter and I hope that none of them harmed any of you personally. I tried to keep it as brief as possible.
