"THEY'RE AT THE SCHOOL," APRIL INFORMED ISAAC AND CHRIS. She had just gotten a text from Scott, letting her know that the Oni were at the school and that he was there with everyone else, trying to defeat Void and his little minions. He said that he totally understood if she and Chris and Isaac did not want to come, but there was no way in hell that she was missing the fight, especially with the newfound information that they had.
They arrived at the school just in time to see Aiden, Ethan, and Derek getting their asses kicked by some of the Oni by the entrance. As they approached, they heard Ethan yell to the Hale man, "Take the box, we'll hold them off!" Derek just roared in response as he threw one of the figures off of him. As it was getting up, an arrow plunged into its chest. Derek whipped around to see Chris and April standing there, the man with a crossbow in his hand.
"What was that?" Aiden asked, wondering how in the hell he was able to kill one of the things that they had been working so hard to kill. Isaac flipped down from the top of the school, landing right next to the blonde girl.
Argent shrugged like it was no big deal, and it was probably one of the most badass things that April had seen him do in a while. "Silver."
"Isaac, the box!" Derek yelled, pointing to a cylindrical box that was sitting on one of the steps. "Get the triskele box to Scott!" Isaac followed the orders, and April sprinted along with him. She had gotten surprisingly fast while trying to keep up with all of the werewolves.
The two ran down the hallway of the school, following sounds and smell, and arrived at where everyone else was just in time to see Scott bite Void on the shoulder. At the same time, Kira ran him through with her sword. April gasped as the boy that looked exactly like Stiles fell to his knees, prompting a bug to come out of his mouth. It flew down the hallway, and Isaac opened the box just in time to trap the insect in it.
Void choked for a second, flinching violently before he froze. He looked straight forward, his eyes landing on April, and she felt like he was gazing into her soul as his eyes showed that he had been defeated. His face began to crack like a statue, and he fell forward, disintegrating into dust as he crashed to the ground.
They all stared in shock for a moment until the real Stiles fell to the ground, unconscious. They all rushed to his side, scared that killing Void had some affect on him as well, but he was perfectly fine because a few moments later, he gasped awake.
"Oh, thank God," the blonde girl breathed out once she saw that he was alive and okay.
"Oh, God. I fainted, didn't I?" the boy asked, looking around at all of their concerned faces that morphed into relieved laughs that he was back to his normal, funny self. He seemed to process what just happened, and he looked over at Scott. "We're alive? We're all alive?"
Scott nodded with an almost sad smile, knowing that he meant all of the people that walked into the fight that day but also knowing that not all of them were alive. "Yeah, we're okay."
All of a sudden, Lydia stood up quickly, and they all immediately knew that something was wrong by the look on her face. She sprinted out of the doors, and they all followed her. They rushed out the doors, and they froze when they saw what was happening on the stairs.
Ethan was holding a dead Aiden as black blood poured out of his mouth. Derek was kneeled next to them, crying, and Chris was staring solemnly from next to them. Lydia gasped and turned around, immediately met with Stiles' arms as he hugged her and comforted her.
A tear rolled down April's face as she realized how many people they had lost over the years, good and bad. She realized how much pain the supernatural had caused them, despite the fact that it sounded so awesome in theory. She leaned on Isaac as he wrapped an arm around her and sighed.
It was the end of an era.

"YOU'RE MOVING TO FRANCE?" SCOTT EXCLAIMED AS HE AND APRIL sat on his bed. She had just told him about the offer that Chris had made to her and how she could not do anything but accept. He said that he was welcome to keep living with her but that he was moving to France to just get away for a little bit. He also said that Isaac was welcome to come as well. It was an amazing offer. "Oh, my God. How are you going to survive? You suck at French."
"Really? That's what you're worried about?" the blonde girl questioned, a little offended that his first thought was not that he was going to miss her or that she could not leave but that she sucked at the language.
He shot her a look because she knew that that was not the biggest thing that he was worried about. He stammered out, "YโYou can't leave. We need you."
"No, you don't, Scott," she insisted. She had never been any sort of help with anything other than homework. It wasn't even just the fighting. She had no idea what any of the supernatural terms meant or how to cure a Kanima bite or anything. "I was never really any help with all of the supernatural stuff."
"Yeah, but I need you. Who am I gonna call when I'm lonely or heartbroken or need someone to do something stupid with?" he asked, and his puppy dog eyes almost made her stay just so that she could hang out with him. She was going to miss him like hell. He and Lydia and Stiles were the only reason that she considered not going. That, and the fact that she had a house there that she would be able to own once she turned eighteen. She still had no clue about all of the details about that just yet.
"Well, you can always call me. I swear I'll pick up, no matter what time it is," she assured him, reaching over to grab his hand as she smiled. She definitely could not imagine a life without Scott, even if she could just talk to him on the phone. "I'll still be there for you, Scott. Plus, Stiles will always be ready to do something stupid with you."
He groaned and flopped back on the bed, throwing his arms up. "Yeah, but Stiles gives awful girl advice."
"Cut yourself some slack, Scott. You've scored some pretty good girls in your time," she pointed out. Allison and Kira were definitely some of the best girls in the town, and he had gotten both of them. He also deserved them and the world. She hated when he did not give himself enough credit.
He shrugged with a small grin. "I guess I have."
"I just need to get away from this town," she explained to him. She had lost too many people, and there was not a single place that she frequented that she could think of that did not have an awful memory associated with it. "There's too many awful memories associated with this place. I see ghosts everywhere I go."
"But there's so many good memories too," he sighed, and she grinned, remembering all of the great times that she and her friends, her family, had together. Playing lacrosse with the boys, girl talks at Lydia's house, making fun of reality shows with Ashley, kissing Isaac.
The thought of all of them made tears well up in her eyes as she smiled. "I know, and I'll never forget them. Just please tell me you understand." She needed him to understand. She could not stand the idea of her leaving him and him seeing it as some sort of betrayal.
"I guess, but only if you call me all the time," he answered, exhaling and sitting up again and looking her in the eye to let her know that he was being very very serious.
"Of course," she responded. That was always a given, and there was no way that she was not going to call him. She needed him in her life, as much as possible. And, she was definitely going to come visit a lot. " I need my Sott talk at least once a week."
He was quick to shut that down and up it. "Twice a week."
"Deal," she chuckled out. It took everything in her not to cry at the thought that this might be their last talk for a while. He was her best friend. He had gotten her through every single bad time. Through all of the heartbreaks and deaths and silly boy troubles, he had been there to hold her hand and make her laugh.
He practically lunged at her and wrapped his arms around her. She was quick to hug him back, and they squeezed each other so tight that she was pretty sure that he would never let her leave. "I can't believe you're moving to France."
"Me neither," she breathed out. It was truly a crazy thing to think about, especially since she was leaving the next day. Chris had wanted to get out of there as soon as they were packed up.
Both of them jumped when they heard glass breaking, and their heads whipped to the doorway to see Stiles' hand outstretched like he was holding something that was not there and a glass of water on the ground. His jaw was dropped, and he looked so betrayed. "You're moving to France?"

APRIL WAS SITTING ON HER BARE BED IN HER EMPTY ROOM. They had decided to leave all of the furniture there and just buy more in France because it was too much of a hassle to take everything. She glanced around in sadness as a tear rolled down her cheek. She really wanted to go, but she hated to leave. The door opened suddenly, and she was quick to wipe her face.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Isaac asked, instantly seeing through her facade. He knew when she was upset from almost a year of studying her behavior and how she carried herself. He closed the door behind him to give them some privacy.
"Nothing," she answered, but he shot her a knowing look that made her sigh. He walked over and sat next to her on the mattress as she explained everything to him. She had never known anything but Beacon Hills. She had never been out of the country. Hell, she had barely been out of the state. "It's just, I've lived in this down for my entire life. I don't know how I'm going to leave it."
He wrapped his hand around her wrist in an attempt to comfort her, and it pained him to see how much this was affecting her. For him, he was escaping the town where he was abused for most of his life, where he had never truly been happy until he was with her. As long as she was coming with him, he knew he would be completely fine. "It's not too late to cancel France."
"No, I want to go," she insisted, turning to him so that he knew that she was serious. She really did want to go. "I just need a minute."
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I got you something. I was going to wait until we were in France to give it to you, but I think now is the right time," he informed her after a pause.
She raised her eyebrows at him curiously, wondering what he could have gotten her. "What is it?"
"Turn around," he told her, and she did as she was told. She heard what sounded like metal hitting metal lightly, and she felt his hands move her hair out of the way. A small chain passed in front of her eyes, and she realized that he was putting a necklace on her. She looked down as the cool metal hit her collarbone and saw that it was a locket in the shape of a heart. As he fastened the clip, she opened it to see a picture of all of them โ her, Scott, Stiles, Allison, Lydia, and Isaac. She grinned back at their smiling faces, and once she was sure that Isaac was finished, she turned around and threw her arms around him. He chuckled and asked, "You like it?"
"I love it," she corrected, and she had no idea what she did to deserve such a wonderful boy. It was probably her favorite gift that she had ever received from anyone.
He shrugged as if it were nothing, and just smiled, happy that she liked it as she pulled away. "I figured you'd have a hard time leaving."
"You're the best," she told him. "I love you so much."
He laughed before pulling her toward him and bringing her lips to his. She beamed into the kiss because she felt like fireworks were going off around them. Once she pulled away after a second, he touched his forehead to hers. "I love you too."
So, as they were leaving the apartment that night, April took one last look at the room and smiled, remembering the dream that she had had when she was under the Nogitsune's influence, the one about the party. As much as she hated that thing, she kind of hoped that that could come true one day, all of them happy together. She had the best boy by her side and a whole life ahead of her. It was the start of a new era.
"See you later, Beacon Hills."
