APRIL WAS WORKING ON HER HOMEWORK ON THE FLOOR of Isaac's hospital room. There were papers and books everywhere, coating her entire half of the room. She had so much work to catch up on, and so little time to do it. She looked up when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" she yelled to whoever it was since she was too lazy to get up and open the door. The door opened, and she flew to her feet when she saw who it was. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Elijah. He was standing there with a smile as if nothing had ever happened, flowers in his hands like he was just an old friend coming to see how Isaac was doing. "I came to pay my respects."
"He's asleep. Not dead, you asshole," she snapped back. Why was he there? Why the hell did he think that it was okay to just stroll in there like it was the most normal thing in the world? What gave him the right to be there?
He shrugged and placed the flowers down on the table at the foot of the hospital bed. "I heard that's not for long."
"Get the hell out," she ordered, pointing to the door. He was the last thing she needed to see right now, especially in her space with Isaac.
"Woah, aggressive," he responded, holding his hands up, but instead of exiting, he kicked the door closed so that no one could hear her yelling at him. He did not need any nurses running in and kicking him out. "I just came by to see how my friend was doing."
She scoffed and stepped over some of the papers as she walked over to him. If she ended up beating him up, she did not want any of her homework to get ruined with it. "He is not your friend, and I am especially not your friend. No one wants you here."
"That's not very nice considering I brought flowers," he scolded playfully, gesturing to the roses that he had brought in.
"I don't care," she replied bitterly before grabbing his flowers and throwing them back at him. He unfortunately caught them before they hit his face. She was hoping that the thorns would cut it up. "Get out."
He dropped them on the ground instead of putting them back on the table because it was clear that she would probably throw them away or burn them as soon as he left. "I don't know what you're so mad aboutβ"
"You know damn well what I'm so mad about you, why I hate you," she told him, and if looks could kill, Elijah would be a pile of ashes on the ground by then.
He sighed with a smile, "'Hate' is a strong word."
"And it's exactly what I mean," she informed him. She did hate him. He put her through so much, and now here he was, acting like he had not done any of it. What the hell was wrong with him? She had earned the right to hate him. "If you don't get the hell out here, I will make you."
"I'd like to see you try," he chuckled out, and that was all the push that she needed. He did not have to tell her twice.
She grabbed a scalpel from a table beside her in the corner of the room and held it up like it was a knife. She realized that it was not very threatening, but she hoped that the look on her face would scare him. "Get out."
"You're cute when you're mad," he mused, and she was not able to hold in her anger anymore. She slammed him into the wall behind him and held the scalpel up to his neck. She could see the fear in his eyes, and she was almost happy seeing that she had got to him.
All of a sudden, the door swung open, revealing Allison standing there with wide eyes. April stepped back from the boy, scared that she was about to get yelled at when the Argent girl turned to Elijah. "Get the hell out of here, asshole before I call my dad and make sure that you die a slow, painful death."
"Whatever you say, gorgeous," he responded, and the blonde girl lunged for him once again. Allison grabbed jer around her waist before she could do any damage, though.
"He's not worth it," the brunette girl muttered to her as the boy stepped out of the room finally. The hunter released her friend once he was a little ways down the hall and turned to her. "Also, you're coming with me."

ALLISON HAD BROUGHT HER TO THEIR APARTMENT WHERE the sheriff, Chris, and Derek were waiting for them. The four were going to work on a plan to hunt down the Nogitsune that was in Stiles's body, and April was just tagging along for the ride. The Hale man furrowed his eyebrows when he saw the blonde. "What is she doing here?"
"Great to see you too, Derek," she replied with a sarcastic smile.
Allison did not answer. She just led the adults and her friend into her father's office where there was a table full of weapons waiting for them. She informed them, "This is everything non-lethal I could find..."
"Take all of it," Chris responded after examining everything that she had laid out and approving it. They had to use non-lethal stuff because the police were keeping a close eye on them after the Argent and Hale men had gotten arrested.
Stilinski raised his eyebrows at them, still not sure what it was they were going to do to hunt this thing down. "What's the plan, here?"
"Our best shot right now is for Derek to try to pick up Stiles' scent at Eichen House, especially if he went through something stressful there," Chris explained to the man. The werewolf could use the chemosignals to find where Stiles had been and how he had been feeling when he was there.
Still a little confused, the sheriff then questioned, "Should all four of us be going to the same place?"
"Where else has Stiles been showing up?" the hunter asked. They could continue to track him if they could keep finding places where the actual Stiles had shown up. Maybe there was something there that could trigger him, and maybe he would show up there again.
April was the one who answered, happy to actually be contributing to the cause. She felt kind of useless when there was a bunch of trained hunters and adults and werewolves all around her. "School, the hospital..."
"Okay, hold on β we did this already," Derek pointed out, remembering what had happened before. "He disappeared, we started looking for him. Then walked right into a trap at the hospital."
"He's getting us to repeat the same moves," Argent realized, looking up.
Allison sighed, running a hand through her hair because she was not totally sure what to do. "So, what do we do? Wait for him to come to us?"
"We can't," the werewolf answered, shaking his head. The last thing they needed was the ghost ninjas murdering him while they were sitting there, staring at the ceiling and waiting for them to show up. "Not if the Oni find him when the sun goes down."
"Scott's working on that right now with Kira," Stilinski told them. The McCall boy was with Kira and her parents, discussing and researching ways to stop the Oni or at least hold them back while they figured out what to do about Stiles.
"That's the problem," Argent exhaled as if a lightbulb had just gone off in his brain. "We're all trying to outfox the fox."
The sheriff looked at each of them individually as if scanning for even a tiny bit of doubt in any of their eyes. He needed to make sure that everyone is all in. "Listen...I'll understand if anyone wants to back out."
"I won't be the first wolf to run from a fox," Derek answered, grabbing one of the weapons from off of the table.
Argent held up his stick thing. "Apparently, I'm carrying a lightsaber..."
"Well, the majority of the people that died in Star Wars did not have a lightsaber, so you'll be fine," the blonde girl told him, and he shot her a grateful smile for being so optimistic about it.
"Dad, you and Derek hit Eichen House," Allison told her father before gesturing to the remaining people in the room. "Sheriff, it's you and me in the hospital. April, you're coming too. We all meet in the school."
The Hale man watched as Chris stuck a gun in his bag just in case they happened to need it. "Making sure you have a few lethal options, just in case?"
"I like to prepare for the worst."
