"I LOOKED EVERYWHERE. IT'S LIKEΒ he just walked away. Left his car, his dog," Scott explained to April and Stiles in the locker room as the boys got ready for cross country practice.
"Okay, was he, like... could he have been a virgin, maybe? Did he look like a virgin?" Stiles questioned after a slow nod as he aggressively shoved things into his bag. "Was he, you know, virginal?"
Normally, this question would sound really weird, and it still did. However, there was a reason behind it. The sheriff's son had this theory that the recents murders have not just been random killingsΒ β they were sacrifices. So far, all of the victims had been virgins. Heather, who had just been found dead, some lifeguard that Lydia found dead at the pool, and Emily who was on a date with her girlfriend in the woods.
The McCall boy smiled as he pulled his jacket on over the tank top that was his uniform. " No, definitely notΒ β Deaton makes me have sex with all of his clients. It's a new policy."
"That's nasty," the Sharpe girl muttered, making a disgusted face until she realized he was joking.
He chuckled because she actually fell for it, but when the Stilinski boy just stared at him with an unamused look, his smile fell. "No, I don't know if he was a virgin. And why are you talking like he's already dead?"
"Missing and presumed dead because he's probably a virgin, Scott!" Stiles exclaimed hysterically. "And you know who else is a virgin? Me. I'm a virgin, okay? And you know what that means? It means that my lack of sexual experience is now literally a threat to my life! Okay, I need to have sex, like, right now. Someone needs to have sex with me, like, today. Like, someone needs to sex me right now!"
"All right, I'll do it," Danny piped in, closing the locker in between him and the boy with a smirk on his face.
Stiles yelped at the sudden noise and whipped his head around to look at him in shock and confusion. "What?"
"Come to my place at nine. Plan to stay the night," the Mahealani boy informed him with a smirk as he looked him up and down. April was so close to giggling that she had to bite her sleeve. "I like to cuddle."
"Oh. That was so sweet. Are you kidding?" the Stilinski boy asked after looking to Scott who was just as surprised as he was. He must have missed the look on the blonde girl's face, though.
Danny stared at him in disbelief. "Yes, I'm kidding."
"Okay, you know, you don't toy with a guy's emotions like that, Danny! It's not attractive, all right?" Stiles yelled after him as he walked away and out of the locker room. He turned back to his friends before sighing and gesturing to the Sharpe girl. "At least April is riding the virgin train with me."
"...April's not a virgin," the werewolf corrected him with furrowed eyebrows after a moment spent in confusion.
The blonde nodded along with him, confirming his statement. "You thought I was a virgin?"
"What?" he shouted a little too loudly, grabbing the attention of a couple of people around them, and April wanted to put her hand over his mouth to shut him up. "Who did you have sex with? And how come I didn't know?"
"A lady never kisses and tells," she replied with a shrug, looking down at her feet.
Scott snorted smugly as a smirk appeared on his face. She already knew what he was going to say and had the t-shirt ready to go. "You did a lot more than kiss."
"Shut up, McCall," she ordered before hitting him multiple times with the shirt. He stopped laughing when something behind her caught his eye. He coughed a bit and gestured to something. She dropped the shirt and raised her eyebrows at him in confusion.
"Hey," came a voice from behind her, and she turned around to see Elijah standing behind her. Her eyes widened when she realized that he might have heard the last part of their conversation. He did not even seem phased that she was in the boys' locker room.Β "Do you do cross country?"
"April? Cross country? No way," Stiles scoffed as he and Scott burst out laughing at the suggestion since the blonde girl was not exactly the running type.
She sent them a glare, telling them to shut up with her eyes before turning back to the brunette boy. "No, I'm not. I don't really run. Are you doing it?"
"No. Well, not yet, at least. I'm here to talk to Coach about what sports I can try out for," he explained, gesturing to the man behind her. "If, uh, if you're done here, do you maybe want to go for a walk with me after I'm done?"
"Sure," she replied with a polite smile, ignoring the boys behind her that were making kissing noises and, judging by the confused and embarrassed look on the Blake boy's face, they were also making hearts in the air in his direction.
He nodded as he began to back away. "Okay, I'll see you in a minute."
"See you," she responded, watching as he left before turning around and grabbing Stiles's old shirt from off the bench and whacking them with it. "God, could you guys be any more embarrassing?"
"I think someone's got a crush," Scott sang mockingly, but that just made her face turn red and hit him even harder. They all started laughing as she leaned back against the locker, causing it to make a noise.
She was not aware of the Lahey boy who was standing just a couple feet away who heard the whole thing, and he was watching them with a disappointed frown on his face.
So, the boys left for their run, and Elijah and April set off on their walk. April was not going to lie β him asking her was kind of random, but she did not have anything else to do with the boys busy so why not? Actually, she was technically supposed to be in a class, but she had finished all of her work for it. "So, what's up? How have you been since we last spoke?"
"Well, the last time we spoke was today in English class, so not much has happened since then," she responded with a small giggle. They had talked while doing their work in that class about the assignment.
He chuckled, "True, but all we talked about was work. I still don't really know anything about you."
"Well, what do you want to know?" she asked, a little nervous as she wondered if he was going to ask anything personal because he knew that her parents were not exactly there.
"Let me think," he told her, and after a moment of thought, he continued, "What's your favorite color?"
She hesitated for a moment before answering, "Blue. What about you?"
"Green. Got any hobbies?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows at her in question, trying to get to know her better.
"Um, I like watching TV and making bracelets. Does that count?" she responded, but she paused when she saw that he had froze. He had this terrified look on his face, and she furrowed her eyebrows in concern. "Elijah, are you okay? What's wrong?" All he was able to do was lift his finger and point to a tree. She followed his finger and screamed when she saw what he was pointing at.
It was a body.
It was a boy, and he seemed to be tied to the tree with something around his neck, There was blood dripping everywhere, and he was most definitely dead already.
Seconds after she screamed, the sound of footsteps echoed behind her, and Isaac came sprinting down the hill with Scott on his tail. They must have been running in that area since it was close to the school. The Lahey boy did not waste any time before shoving the brunette boy beside April hard.
"What the hell did you do to her?" he growled, and the Sharpe girl could hear that his werewolf side was starting to come out. When Elijah did not respond immediately, he repeated, "What the hell did you do to her?"
Finally, the Blake boy raised his arms in surrender and murmured, "Nothing, man."
"Isaac," the blonde girl said, stepping in between the two boys and grabbing the blue eyed boy's arm to calm him down since his claws were starting to show. She looked into his eyes, and he took a deep breath, allowing himself to return to his human form.
Then, she nodded her head in the direction of the body as an explanation, and his eyes widened when he saw it. The rest of the team, including Scott and Stiles had reached them and were staring at the boy. As April and Isaac joined their side, the Stilinski boy asked Scott, "It's him, isn't it?"
"Hey, get out of the way! Get back!" the sheriff ordered because it wasn't too long before they arrived on the scene. "Get this area cordoned off before they trample every piece of evidence. Get these kids out of here!"
"Dad, just come here. Look, look! Look at itΒ β it's the same as the others, you see?" Stiles pointed out to his father, gesturing to parts on the body that compared to those of other victims.
Stilinski nodded tiredly. "Yeah, I see that. Do me a favor? Go back to school, yeah? Coach, can you give us a hand here?"
"You heard the man! Nothing to see here!" the man yelled to the kids, following orders, but his voice did not hold much authority. He muttered, "Probably just some homeless kid..."
Scott explained to the coach that the boy was a senior at their school while a blonde girl came running toward them. When she tried to touch the body, Tara, an officer, held her back as she sobbed. "Kyle! Oh, God. Kyle!"
"Go. Go on," the sheriff told them, and they began to walk down the hill. That was when April noticed that Elijah had disappeared completely. He was probably just sick from the stench of blood and the body. She could not blame him.
As they walked away, Isaac looked around suspiciously. Something had clearly happened between him and the werewolf twins, Ethan and Aiden. He was being awfully hostile toward them. "You see the way the twins looked at him?"
"Yeah, you mean like they had no idea what happened?" Stiles replied with a scoff.
The blonde boy shook his head. "No. No, they know."
"The kid was strangled with a garrote, all right?" Stiles exclaimed exasperatedly, throwing his hands up in the air. "Am I the only one recognizing the lack of werewolf-itude in these murders?"
"Oh, you think it's a coincidence they turn up and then people start dying?" the Lahey boy questioned. It was kind of weird that they just happened to show up when all of these sacrifices were happening.
April nodded slowly, weighing the options and ideas. "He does kind of have a point."
"Well, no, but I still don't think it's them," he answered the male before turning to the boy, basically their leader, who had not spoken yet. "Scott? What about you?"
"I don't know yet," the McCall replied with a shrug.
Stiles raised his eyebrows at him in shock, surprised that his best friend did not immediately take his side. "You don't know yet?"
"Well, he's got a point," Scott voiced as he glanced at Isaac before turning back to the Stilinski boy with raised eyebrows, unconvinced. "Seriously, dude? Human sacrifices?" Stiles was appalled at that.
"Scott, your eyes turn into yellow glow-sticks, okay? Hair literally grows from your cheeks and then will immediately disappear, and if I were to stab you right now, it would just magically heal, but you're telling me that you're having trouble grasping human sacrifices?"
"That's a good point too," the werewolf told the other werwolf.Isaac just sighed before walking away from them with a determined look on his face.Β I don't care. They killed that kid. They killed the girl that saved me. I'm gonna kill them, too."
"Hey, Sharpe!" called Coach from behind them, causing the blonde girl to turn toward him in confusion. "Don't think I don't know you were skipping class. You have detention during lunch."
"Great."
