APRIL TRUDGED INTO THE LIBRARYย behind Stiles, Scott leading them as Allison, Matt, Jackson, and Erica trailed behind them. She sat at a table with her two best friends and Erica, and the remaining few sat at the other one.

"I can't be in detention with them," the Whittemore boy informed the teacher that had been standing there when they walked in. "I have a restraining order against these tools."

Harris raised his eyebrows curiously at the boy. "All of these tools?"

"No, just us tools," answered Stiles, and the Sharpe girl pointed at him and Scott in response.

"Fine," the man sighed, pointing at the pair or idiotic boys and directing them to a table a couple yards away. "You two, over there."

Jackson stared at the teacher disbelief before looking angrily Scott and Stiles. They were definitely not fifty feet away from them. April glanced at the other blonde girl beside her before swiftly grabbing her bag and moving to the same table as the boys.

As she sat down, Scott glared at the rich jackass in the other side of the room. "I'm gonna kill him."

"No, you're not," Stiles told him carefully, "You're going to find out who's controlling him, and then you're gonna help save him."

"Since when are you for saving Jackson?" the Sharpe questioned curiously at the Stilinski. Usually he was the one saying that they should kill people instead of saving them.

Scott shook his head, ignoring the blonde all together and staring at Stiles. "No. You were right. Let's kill him."

"Oh, no," the sheriff's son groaned, as the entire table stared at Jackson who was simply sitting back in his chair and twisting his head with his eyes closed. After a short pause, he spoked up again. "Hey. What if it's Matt? I mean, this whole thing comes back to the video, right?"

"Oh, so that's his name," April muttered to herself.

Scott furrowed his eyebrows. "But Danny said that Matt was the one who found the two hours of missing footage."

"Exactly! He's trying to throw suspicion off himself," Stiles explained. The blonde glanced at the boy across from Jackson. He was eating chips and looking kind of stupid doing it. He definitely didn't seem like a murderer.

The McCall nodded, thinking over the possibility as he was still a little confused. "So he makes Jackson kill Isaac's dad, one of Argent's hunters, and the mechanic working on your jeep?"

"Yes," the Stilinski whisper yelled.

Looking at their friend like he was crazy, both April and Scott asked, "Why?"

"Because..." Stiles trailed off, trying to think of an explanation as to why that very random group of people as he stared at Matt who was still munching. "He's evil."

"You just don't like him." April rolled her eyes. Only Stiles would ever accuse someone of murder just because he wasn't very fond of them.

He shrugged. "The guy bugs me. I don't know what it is. Just look at his face." They did, and he was offering a chip to Jackson who looked very unimpressed. He looked annoying, but not necessarily evil.

"Any other theories?" Scott asked, turning back to them.ย

They were interrupted by a pained sigh coming from Jackson. His hand was on his head as he sat up and grabbed his bag. Matt glanced at him, "You okay?"

"I need to go to the bathroom," was all he replied as he began walking out of the library with his hand still on his head.ย

"Are you alright?" asked the teacher that had been monitoring them. He stood up when the Whittemore boy didn't answer. "Hey, you don't look so good."

Jackson groaned as he stepped out the door. He responded quickly, "I just need to get some water." They all stared at him as he left, and Scott and April shot each other a look, knowing that that could be anything but good.

"No one leaves their seat," Harris informed them before following after the boy. As soon as he was out of earshot, however, the three best friends got up and sat at the table with Erica who was writing in a notebook.ย

Erica didn't even look up as Scott said, "Stiles says you know how Jackson's parents died."

"Maybe," she shrugged, and April had the urge to look at her notebook to see what she was so invested in writing.ย

When she did not say anything else, the McCall stared back at her in waiting before telling her, "Talk."

"It was a car accident," she informed them, finally placing her pen and composition book down in front of her neatly. She seemed sort of eager to tell them, though. "My dad was the insurance investigator, and every time he sees Jackson drive by in his Porsche, he makes some comment about the huge settlement he'll be getting when he's eighteen."

"So not only is Jackson rich now, but he's getting even richer at 18?" the blonde human muttered in disbelief. Man, life just isn't fair. How could Jackson, the hugest jackass of all, get ever even more jackassier later.

When Erica nodded, Stiles sighed, "There's something so deeply wrong with that."

"You know what?" the female werewolf spoke up, pushing the stuff that was on her laptop to the side and opening it up. "I could try to find the insurance report in my dad's inbox. He keeps everything."

The trio tapped their finger impatiently as she pulled up the document, but just as she was about to show it to them, Allison's mother came on the PA. "Scott McCall, please report to the principal's office."

"What'd you do this time?" April asked with raised eyebrows. He shrugged, glancing at her and Stiles nervously before getting up and leaving.

The three left were examining the reports when Jackson and Mr. Harris came back into the library. The Sharpe girl noticed the many beads of sweat that coated the boy's face as he sat down, but Stiles' voice brought her back to the task at hand. "Look at the dates."

"'Passengers arrived at the hospital DOA,'" read Erica aloud, and April glanced anxiously at the Whittemore boy because she was pretty sure he had super hearing. "'The estimated time of death 9:26 p.m., June 14, 1995.'"

"Jackson's birthday is June 15th," Stiles told them. That was definitely weird.

They turned around when they heard the teacher zipping up his bag, but when they began to do the same, he stopped them. He laughed, "Oh no, I'm sorry. Yes, I'm leaving. But none of you are. you may go when you're done with the re-shelving. Enjoy the rest of your evening." He pointed to the numerous carts stacked high with books, and April mentally groaned.

That was going to be a long evening.

APRIL WAS IN THE BACK CORNER of the library, reshelving books on the top shelves. She was kind of short, so she had to use a stepladder. Even then, she couldn't reach the highest point. So, in a moment of incredible stupidity, she stepped on the handle of the ladder.

And then, she fell.

She braced herself for the landing, but it never came. Warm hands wrapped around her waist, catching her before she hit the floor. Once she realized what had happened, she glanced up to see who caught her, expecting it to be Scott, who came back about ten minutes before, or someone else in the room, and her eyes widened when she realized that it was none other than Isaac Lahey.

"This would be a really cute way to meet if we hadn't already met," he told her with a smug smile. Placing her feet, that were just an inch off the ground, back on it.

"What are you doing here?" She glared at him, pushing his hands away from her and stepping back. She straightened herself up, completely missing the very quick disappointedย  "You don't even have detention."

He scoffed in slight disbelief, mirroring her confused expression as he stared back at her. "Saving you from cracking your head open, apparently, which I didn't even get a 'thank you' for. Why the hell did you think that that was a good idea?"

"I don't know. You didn't answer my question," she pointed out, shifting the attention back to him.

"Erica texted me," he responded finally. "She said she had some information about the Kanima that she wanted me to pass on to Derek since she was in detention โ€” said it was too much to send in a message."

She didn't have enough time to question him because all of a sudden, there was a loud crash, and she heard a couple books tumble to the floor. It was all a blur but she felt Isaac grab her arm and her back hit a bookcase. The werewolf boy was towering over her, his hands against the wall on either side of her as he shielded her from the books and rubble that came showering down on top of them.

"Are you okay?" the Lahey boy asked, and that made April snap out of her small trance. She peaked around him to see that the shelf perpendicular to them had toppled over, and if she had been standing there, she would've been seriously injured.

"Yeah." She nodded. It was then that she realized just how close he was to her. If they hadn't almost just died, she might've thought he was going to kiss her โ€” not that she wanted him to do that. "Thanks."

The lights went out above them, and sparks cascaded down. A blur flew over them, and the two swiftly realized that it was Jackson. On one of the aisles over, Scott yelled, "Erica!"

"Get down. Get down!" Isaac ordered, but she was too busy trying to get to her friend. Sighing, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her down with him. They crouched down and crawled to the next aisle so that they could see what was happening.

April gasped when she saw Jackson, scales covering one half of his face, standing at the chalkboard with a piece of chalk in his hand. He looked like a zombie as he wrote on the board. Once he was finished, he fell into a sort of trance for a second so that they could read it.

'Stay out of my way or I'll kill all of you.'

Then, he leaped out of the window, and it shattered, glass shards falling to the ground and adding to the already horrible mess. April and Isaac's eye widened as they looked to each other.

"April?" Scott called with a worried tone. She could hear him stand up, and she did the same. "April, where are you?"

"Here," she told him, stepping out into the main part of the library as she examined the destruction. Tables were flipped, and books were everywhere.

When Isaac followed her, the McCall furrowed his eyebrows at him in confusion, for he hadn't heard or smelt him come in, nor did he know he was coming. "Isaac? What are you doing here?"

"Long story," the Lahey boy answered, waving him off with his hand.

After that, they all moved forward to observe what Jackson had written on the board. They were about halfway there when Stiles noticed Erica lying in one of the rows. She was jerking a bit and gasping for breath.ย

He rushed to her side, cradling her in his arms and catching his friends' attention. "Hey, hey, hey, hey! I think she's having a seizure."

While he, Scott, Isaac, and April worried about her, Allison went to check on Matt, who had been paralyzed in all of the chaos. She informed them, "He's alive."

"Hey, we need to get her to a hospital," the Stilinski boy said once they were sure that Matt would be fine.ย

"Derek." Erica shook her head as she shook, knowing that it would be very hard to explain her superhealing to the doctors at the hospital. "Only to Derek."

Scott turned back to his girlfriend, peaking through the shelf to look at her and explain to her what was going to happen. "When we get her to the hospitalโ€”"

"To Derek. To Derek," the blonde werewolf corrected, interrupting the boy to make sure he knew where to take her. Derek would probably know what to do anyway.ย

Allison nodded, "Go."

"Hey, Scott!" Stiles yelled when his friend left them to go talk to Allison without having to look through a stack of books to do so. They didn't really have time for that because they needed to get Erica to Derek as soon as they could.

While the boy argued slightly with his girlfriend, April turned to the tall boy next to her who was tapping his foot impatiently. "Is she going to be okay?"

"I don't know. Maybe if we get her to Derek fast enough," he replied, and she could tell that he was really scared. He said the next sentence louder so that everyone in the library holding them up could hear him. "Which is why I'd really appreciate it if we sped this up."

Taking the hint, Scott finished up his conversation and helped Isaac grab Erica so that they coulf take her to Derek.

And the camera in the room followed them all the way out.
