IT WAS MISCHIEF DAY/NIGHT, ALSO KNOWN AS COACH'S BIRTHDAY, when April and Stiles pulled into the school parking lot. She had needed a ride to school that day because her car was in the shop, and Scott had been riding his motorbike to school ever since he got it.

As they climbed out of the car, they caught sight of Scott and the twins talking in the parking lot. This was the first time that the Sharpe girl had seen them in a while. As the two approached, they heard the McCall boy ask, "You're back in school?"

"No, just to talk," Ethan replied.

Stiles raised his eyebrows at them as he and the blonde girl joined in on the conversation. He scoffed, "Oh, that's kind of a change of pace for you guys. Usually you're just hurting, maiming, and killing"

"You need a pack," Aiden explained to him, rolling his eyes at the Stilinski boy. Without an Alpha, they were just Omegas which had even less power than Betas. It must have been a crazy power shift, going from Alphas to this. "We need an Alpha."

"Yeah, absolutely not! That's hilarious, though," the sheriff's son answered for his friend. Scott did not even get a chance to speak, even though the twins were addressing him.

Aiden defended himself, pointing out, "You came to us for help โ€” we helped."

"You beat his face into a blood pulp! That's not helping," April corrected because in order to teach Scott the 'ways of an Alpha,' they decided to beat him up. "In my opinion, that's actually counter-productive."

Scott furrowed his eyebrows at them, wondering what their thought process was and what they thought he was going to say to them. "Why would I say yes?"

"We'd add strength. We'd make you more powerful. There's no reason to say no," Aiden informed them as Isaac joined April's side, glaring at the two of them.

"I can think of one... Like, the two of you holding Derek's claws while Kali impaled Boyd," the Lahey boy told them, and he started to lean forward, and the blonde girl could tell that he was about to lunge any second. "In fact, I don't know why we're not impaling them right now."

"You want to try?" Aiden growled out, taking a step forward. The blonde boy was about to do the same when April grabbed his wrist and pulled him back toward her. He glanced at her, and she shook her head, causing him to back down.

Scott stepped in front of the twins, stopping them from lunging at Isaac. He sighed, "Sorry, but they don't trust you... And neither do I."

"All right, that's my face!" the Stilinski boy exclaimed as they walked down the hallway because a piece of toilet paper was just chucked at him. Isaac had gone to his locker for a moment, leaving the trio. He grinned. "Hey, dude! Good decision, buddy! Good Alpha decision." Then, he realized that his friend was not really paying attention. They followed his gaze to the girl speaking to her father at the end of the hallway. "What are you looking at? You looking at her?"

"Her? Who her?" the werewolf stuttered out, even though he knew exactly what they were talking about.

April grinned mischievously at the way he was blabbering and blushing just by talking about this girl. She sang, "Kira. He likes her."

"No. I mean..." the McCall boy trailed off, trying to defend himself without being rude or painfully obvious that he was lying. It was useless. "Yeah. Yeah, she's okay. She's new."

"So, ask her out," Stiles told him as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Which, it would not be hard since Kira definitely liked him.

Scott seemed so shocked by that. "Now?"

"She'd definitely say yes," the Sharpe girl assured him. She could tell by the interaction that she had with the girl the other day in History that she really liked Scott. Plus, her father outed her in ront of the whole class.

"Yes, now. Right now, Scott! I don't think you get it, yet. You're an Alpha. You're the apex predator! Everyone wants you!" the Stilinski boy explained to him, and his face lit up when he came up with a metaphor to use. "You're like the hot girl that every guy wants."

Scott furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, not sure whether to take that as a compliment or not. "The hot girl?"

"You are the hottest girl!" the sheriff's son confirmed, and he started to walk away just as Isaac walked over to them with a confused expression.

Scott stared after him as a grin appeared on his face. "I'm the hot girl."

"Yes, you are," the Lahey boy answered, with a shocked but happy smile on his face. Then, Scott walked off and over to where Kira's dad had just left her alone, and the two blondes stared after him, their faces beaming.

"IF YOU KEEP BANGING YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE TABLE, you're going to get a splinter stuck in there," Danny sighed as he and April sat in the library during their free period. They were having a study session, but the female was refusing to cooperate.

"I just don't understand the point of math," she muttered, running a hand through her hair. "Like, I already know that 2 + 2 = 4. What else could I possibly need in life?"

He groaned and leaned back in his chair while playing with his pencil in between his fingers. She was a great study partner when she was not being like that. "You don't need to understand the point of it. You just need to do it."

"You know, I have an idea," she muttered, suddenly perking up and raising her eyebrows at the boy with a sly smile.

He shook his head almost immediately, already knowing what she was going to suggest before she even finished her sentence. He refused, "I'm not doing it for you."

"I would pay you, though. I wouldn't make you do it for free, even though you should because you love me so so much," she informed him, and he just rolled his eyes at her and went back to work. He did not have much time to focus, though, because as soon as he looked down at the paper, yelling echoed in the hallways. The blonde girl furrowed her eyebrows and looked up. "What's happening?"

"I don't know," he answered, and then, they saw a group of cops running through the hallways.

She furrowed her eyebrows and stood up, kind of happy to have something to take her away from the studying but also a little concerned. She glanced to Danny who was staring up at her in confusion and told him, "I'm gonna see what's happening."

"Wait a minute, wait a minute!" Stiles yelled to his father as they ran down the hallway, and the blonde girl joined their sides to hear what was happening. "The William Barrow? The Shrapnel Bomber? Spotted nearby?"

"What?" she exclaimed, trying to process what he just said. William Barrow was spotted nearby the school? Was that why the police were there? What the hell was happening?

The sheriff sighed and paused to look at his son and his friend, "A little closer than nearby, actually..."

"How do we get down to the basement?" Rafael McCall demanded as he swiftly walked past them and came down the stairs. "I need to know where every entrance is. I don't want anyone coming in or out of the school."

"Dad, what's really going on here?"

Isaac's eyes widened after Stiles and April explained everything to him, Allison, and Lydia while they walked down the stairs. April had texted Danny to let him know that she probably was not coming back and that she would make it up to him somehow. "Barrow went after kids with glowing eyes? He said those exact words?"

"Yeah," the Stilinski boy confirmed. "No one knows how he woke up from anesthesia โ€” just that when they opened him up, they found a tumor full of live flies, which in any other circumstance would be all kinds of awesomeโ€”"

"Did you say flies?" the Martin girl questioned, stopping and causing the rest of them to mimic her actions and turn around to look at her in concern and confusion.

Allison scrunched her face up. "Lydia?"

"All day, I have been hearing this sound," Lydia informed them, and April remembered Danny mentioning something about the Martin girl acting weird in Econ and saying there was a bug even though he could not see one. "It's like this buzzing..."s

"Like the sound of flies?" the blonde girl asked since that was what they had been taking about. That was really weird, especially since flied had just come out of this crazy guy's stomach in the hospital โ€” that was really concerning, by the way.

Lydia nodded. "Exactly like the sound of flies."
