SUMMER OF 2013

"THERE THEY ARE!" APRIL HEARD AS SHE STEPPED OFF THE PLANE. In less than two seconds, she was practically tackled by none other than Stiles Stilinski. She laughed as she stumbled back to catch herself before she fell over.

"Good to see you too, Stiles."

She tried to pull away, but he didn't stop squeezing her while Scott and Lydia walked over to her and Isaac, laughing. They let Stiles have his moment, hugging the Lahey boy first, but when April started turning red from the lack of circulation, the McCall boy pried his friend off of her.

He was next to embrace her, and he kissed her on the top of the head. "Welcome home."

"I missed you," she muttered. She and Isaac tried to make it back to Beacon Hills at least twice a year, and money wasn't that big of a problem because it turned out that Chris was loaded and left them with a bunch of money back in France. 

Lydia was next, and the two girls jumped up and down excitedly before they hugged. They then looped arms and practically skipped out of the airport, letting the boys get the luggage. 

They had graduated high school, and the supernatural drama had seemed to die down a bit in Beacon Hills. Lydia and Stiles were finally together and happy, and Scott was getting ready for veterinary school. 

Now that April was done with school, she wanted to come back to America to go to college for pre-med, and Isaac wanted to apply somewhere to study history, which April had no objections to because it meant he would wear sexy glasses all the time. 

"Now, if you guys would excuse us," Isaac said once they were done eating, pulling April up with him, "I have something I need to show April." 

"You do?" the blonde girl questioned because she had been completely unaware of this. 

Lydia raised her eyebrows and asked, "What kind of something?"

"I think I know what kind of something," Stiles said smugly, shooting a wink at Isaac that caused the Martin girl to smack him upside the head.

April scrunched her face up in disgust, and Isaac just stared at the boy like he was crazy. "No, not that kind of something."

"See you later," Scott told them, giving April another hug, even though she was most likely going to see him tomorrow. They were there for a whole month, and chances were that they would be back soon, hopefully moving.

When they got outside, April furrowed her eyebrows when Isaac pulled a bandana out of his jacket pocket. He folded it before putting it over her head. She asked, "What's happening?"

"Just trust me," he told her.

She replied hesitantly, "Okay..." She felt herself being led to the car, and he opened her door and helped her inside. "Isaac, you know I'm not a huge fan of surprises."

"I'm really hoping you'll like this one," he told her, starting the car. "I'm pretty sure you will."

"Pretty sure?" she asked, and that made her nervous. The last time he tried to surprise her, he took her to get her teeth cleaned while their friends were setting up her surprise birthday party, and she ended up needing a cavity filled. So, it took an hour longer than it was supposed to, and they were really late to the party.

There was a pause. "Well, I'm sure that I like it, I think. Only if you like it, though."

"You're not making any sense," she informed him because she kind of understood none of that. "And you're making me really nervous."

"Don't be nervous," he said, and she rolled her eyes under the blindfold.

They drove for about seven more minutes, and she honestly had no clue where they were. He helped her out of the car, and pushed her by her shoulders somewhere. She could tell they were on pavement, but that could literally mean anything.

She felt his hands leave her shoulders, and she started getting scared. What if he was just leaving her in the middle of a parking lot to die? She almost jumped when she heard him whisper in her ear, "Don't move, and don't peek."

"Okay..." she muttered, and she stood there for a good bit. She heard him moving around behind her, and she was getting antsy to take her blindfold off.

After about a minute, he told her, "Okay, you can take it off."

"Is this a test?" she asked, slightly skeptical. "Because you told me not to move or peek, so if this is like Simon Says, or something—"

"Will you just take the damn blindfold off?" he said firmly, and she smiled slightly before reaching up and removing the bandana from her face. 

She was standing in the parking lot of the animal clinic, and there were fairy lights strung up all around her, on the trees and across poles. She took a second to admire the view, and she realized that this was the spot where they first kissed. She slowly turned around, knowing that he was behind her, and her heart stopped.

He was on one knee, staring up at her, and in his hands was a box with the prettiest diamond ring she had ever seen.

"April Delilah Sharpe, you have made me feel like the luckiest person alive this past year, 7 months, and 19 days," he confessed, and she grinned at the fact that he knew exactly how long it had been. "And I know we're really young, but I also know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

"And we don't have to do anything any time soon," he assured her, referring to the wedding. "I just wanted to let you know how much I love you and how happy you've made me. You're the most perfect person I have ever met, and I can't imagine a life without you. I don't care where we live or what we do. I just know want to go to sleep every night next to you and wake up every morning to your lovely smile."

At this point, April was in tears, and she couldn't stop smiling. She urged, "Isaac, if you don't ask the question right now, I'm gonna ask for you."

He laughed, took a deep breath, and asked, "Will you marry me?"

"Yes!" she shrieked, and she fell to her knees in front of him to get to his level, grabbing his face and pulling him to her. 

He grabbed her by the waist and kissed her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. When he pulled away, she was sobbing out of happiness, and he used his free hand to wipe away her tears with his thumb. "Don't cry. It won't be that bad." 

"The ring, the ring!" she said through her tears after giggling. She held out her hand as he pulled the ring out of the box and slid it onto her left ring finger.

Then, he pulled her to her feet, tossing the box aside to pick her up and spin her around, kissing her again. The lights twinkled around them, and April honestly couldn't imagine a more perfect moment.

She pulled away again and immediately pulled out her phone. He furrowed his eyebrows before sighing when he realized that she was calling Lydia. When the strawberry blonde's face popped up on the screen, she furrowed her eyebrows when she saw the tears on her friend's face. "What's happening? What's wrong?"

"I'm engaged!" April yelled, jumping and kicking her feet excitedly as Isaac wrapped an arm around her waist. She lifted the phone up to show the set up of everything that happened, and the Lahey kissed her on the forehead.

Lydia screamed and laughed loudly, and Stiles came bursting through the door seconds later. "What? What happened?"

"They're getting married!" the Martin girl yelled at him, and his jaw dropped, his eyes wide. 

Then, Scott was inside the room, and he fell on his face out of shock. He must have been eavesdropping and heard. Both boys flew onto the bed as the blonde girl lifted up her hand and showed her ring. They were all talking over each other, and April was laughing so hard.

Finally, when everything calmed down, Stiles seemed like he just realized something. "Hold on, hold on, hold on. Isaac, you're telling me that you just left the country of romance to propose in a parking lot in California?"
