Chapter 29
The scent of pizza and the comforting chatter between Peter and Harry fades into a haze, replaced by a whirlwind of chaos and panic. You don't even register the glass shattering until the sharp crack pierces through the room like a gunshot. In an instant, everything slows down—Venom screams inside your mind, his voice a frantic echo of warning too late to stop the inevitable.
"Y/N! MOVE!"
But you can't.
Before you fully grasp what's happening, a powerful, clawed hand wraps around your waist, yanking you from the couch with terrifying force. The world tilts, and all you see is the green-and-purple blur of the Green Goblin, his twisted grin etched into his mask like a nightmare come to life.
The cold wind bites at your skin as the Goblin rockets through the shattered window, dragging you with him into the open air. The cityscape stretches below, dizzying and distant. You thrash against his iron grip, heart hammering in your chest. Venom's tendrils lash out wildly, trying to pull you free, but the Goblin is too fast, too prepared. His glider hums beneath him, slicing through the air like a blade.
"Let her go, Goblin!" Peter's voice echoes behind you, full of desperation and fury. You hear the familiar thwip of his web-shooter, but the Goblin weaves through the air, expertly dodging every shot.
Harry's voice joins the chorus, raw and panicked. "NO! Don't take her!"
Your head spins, the sheer speed and terror of the moment making it hard to focus. The city blurs beneath you, a kaleidoscope of lights and buildings. You claw at the Goblin's arm, but he doesn't even flinch. His grip tightens, making it harder to breathe.
"You should've stayed out of this," the Goblin snarls, his voice distorted and cruel. "But you couldn't, could you? Always meddling. Always interfering."
"I'll kill him." Venom's voice trembles with rage, his usual playful menace replaced by pure fury. "I'll tear him apart, Y/N. I swear it."
You try to respond, but your voice is caught in your throat. The panic is overwhelming, your mind spiraling into fear and confusion. The Goblin's words barely register. All you know is the terror of the wind whipping past your face and the growing ache in your chest as Venom battles to keep you conscious.
Peter's voice breaks through again, closer now, filled with raw emotion. "Y/N, hold on! I'm coming!"
You manage to lift your head, just enough to catch a glimpse of Peter swinging through the air, his movements frantic and desperate. His mask hides his expression, but you can feel his fear radiating through every movement. He won't give up. Not on you.
The Goblin, noticing Peter's relentless pursuit, sneers. "Persistent little spider, isn't he? Let's see how far he's willing to go."
He dives suddenly, the glider plummeting toward the river below. Your stomach lurches, and for a brief, horrifying moment, you're weightless, the city disappearing above you. The sound of rushing water grows louder.
Venom's tendrils wrap protectively around you, shielding you from the wind and debris. "You won't die. I won't let you." His voice is steady now, a grounding presence in the chaos. "Just stay with me. Don't let go."
The world tilts again as the Goblin pulls up at the last second, skimming just above the water's surface. Peter is still behind, refusing to give up, but the distance is growing.
You feel the darkness creeping in at the edges of your vision, the shock and exhaustion taking their toll. Venom senses it, too, his voice softening. "Stay awake, Y/N. Please."
But it's too much. The fear, the pain, the speed—it all blurs together, and you can't hold on any longer. The last thing you hear before slipping into unconsciousness is Peter's voice, louder than ever, a plea that cuts through the wind.
"I've got you!"
And then—silence.
SCENEBREAK
When you awaken, you find yourself strapped to a cold metal table, your senses coming alive with a jolt. Venom emerges partially, tendrils protectively curling around your neck. "You awake?" Venom whispers, its voice a mix of worry and anger.
"Where's Peter?" you ask, your voice urgent. Venom nudges your gaze toward Peter, who is slumped on the floor nearby. "No," you whisper, feeling a rush of panic.
The sound of footsteps draws your attention, and you turn to see the Green Goblin entering the room, a malicious grin spreading across his face. "Ah, the ladyship is awake," he taunts, his voice dripping with mockery. He approaches, holding a syringe filled with a strange, glowing substance.
"Who... What do you want, Osborn?" you snarl, trying to sound braver than you feel. Venom moves to shield you, but Goblin effortlessly swats the symbiote aside, eliciting a hiss of pain and frustration. Without hesitation, he injects the contents of the syringe into your bloodstream. "I'm making you more compatible," he sneers, his smile widening cruelly. "You know, with two monsters, you sit here, Y/N. Now you get a third."
Suddenly, you feel something red and ominous spreading through your veins, a foreign presence attempting to seize control of your body. Venom hisses in realization and alarm. "It's a red one. Shit."
A fiery burn ignites in your veins as the glowing red substance courses through your body. It spreads like molten lava, igniting every nerve with searing pain. You arch against the restraints, gasping as Venom thrashes inside you, hissing with growing dread.
"It's a red one. Shit." His voice trembles, a rare moment of genuine fear from the symbiote. You can feel him scrambling to push the foreign presence out, but it's too strong, too invasive, worming its way deeper into your mind.
"A red one?" you rasp, struggling to hold onto your own thoughts as your body betrays you, muscles tightening involuntarily. Your heart races, thundering in your chest as Venom presses harder against the spreading infection.
The Green Goblin chuckles darkly, reveling in your torment. "Ah, you recognize it, don't you? Even your little pet knows what's coming. Carnage," he whispers, the name dripping from his lips like poison. He crouches down next to you, his gaze gleaming with manic glee. "And you are the perfect host."
Your breath hitches. Carnage. The name is infamous in the symbiote world—a being of chaos, destruction, and bloodlust. Unlike Venom, who walks the line between control and rage, Carnage has no such boundaries. He's pure, unrelenting madness.
"Get him out of me," you snarl, struggling against the bonds, panic rising. "I don't want this!"
"Oh, but you will." Goblin's smile twists into something more sinister. "You see, you've already got Venom and whatever little monster you've buried deep inside your mind. I'm just giving you a nudge. Unleashing your full potential."
Venom hisses again, tendrils lashing out. "We won't let him," he growls, but even you can hear the uncertainty in his voice.
The red presence within you grows stronger by the second. It's not just a parasite—it's alive, sentient, and cruel. It claws at your thoughts, whispering promises of destruction and carnage in a voice that drips with venomous glee.
"I see you, Y/N. I feel your anger. Your fear. Let me out."
"No," you whisper, shaking your head, trying to push the voice away. "No, I won't."
But the presence laughs. "You will. You always do."
Peter groans from where he's slumped on the floor, his head lifting weakly. His mask is off, revealing bloodied features and tired eyes. "Y/N?" he croaks, his voice strained but filled with concern.
The sound of Peter's voice cuts through the chaos in your mind, grounding you for a fleeting moment. "Peter," you breathe, your focus snapping to him. You reach for him mentally, clinging to that connection. "I'm here."
But the Goblin isn't finished. He kicks Peter hard in the ribs, sending him sprawling to the floor again with a pained gasp. "Ah, the ever-heroic Spider-Man," Goblin mocks. "So predictable. So weak."
Venom's rage surges, a violent pulse that mirrors your own fury. His tendrils lash wildly, desperate to break free and tear Goblin apart. "We'll kill him, Y/N. Let me loose."
But it's not just Venom's voice anymore. The red symbiote—Carnage—is louder now, merging with your thoughts. His voice is smooth, seductive, dripping with temptation.
"Why stop at the Goblin? Let's destroy everything. Let's show them who we are."
"NO!" you scream, shaking violently against the restraints. Your mind feels like it's splitting in two—Venom on one side, fighting to protect you, and Carnage on the other, whispering destruction and chaos.
Peter lifts his head again, his gaze locking with yours. "You're stronger than this," he says, his voice steady despite his pain. "You've always been stronger."
The words settle deep in your heart, cutting through the noise in your mind. Venom's tendrils tighten around your arms like a protective embrace. "He's right. We can beat this."
You take a shuddering breath, focusing on Venom's presence—the familiar weight of him, the bond you've built together. You cling to that connection, grounding yourself in who you are.
"We are Venom." The words echo in your mind, a statement of defiance against the chaos threatening to consume you.
The red symbiote snarls, furious. "You think you can control me? You think you're stronger? Pathetic."
But you stand firm, your mind steadying. "No, you don't get to take over," you growl. "This is my body, and you don't belong here."
Peter struggles to his feet, wobbling but determined. "We'll get him out of you," he promises, his voice resolute. "I won't lose you, Y/N."
Goblin sneers. "Too late for that. The infection has already begun."
But he's wrong. You can feel it—the balance shifting. Venom surges forward, wrapping his tendrils around the red infection, holding it at bay.
"You're not alone," Venom whispers. "We'll fight him together."
The battle isn't over. The red symbiote still lurks in your veins, waiting for any moment of weakness. But for now, you're in control.
As you look at Peter, bruised and battered but unwavering in his determination, you know one thing for certain: you're going to fight. Together.
And you're going to win.
