[ RECAP ]
I let out a small sigh as I sit up and look around to see if anyone else was awake. I stand up and got out of the room as quietly as I could. I walked towards the vending machine that was across the hall and bought a water bottle.
"Couldn't sleep too?" I turned around and saw Akaashi a few feet away from me.
"Oh, hey Akaashi," I turn my gaze away from him.
"Hey," he approaches me. "Bokuto and Konoha gave me a hard time on quieting them down. What about you? What's your excuse?"
"Um," I rubbed my nape. I couldn't tell him that the reason that I couldn't sleep was because of my fear of how he would react to Minoru being his child. "I was just thirsty so I came to buy a water bottle."
"I see," Akaashi nods. There were a few moments of silence between us but it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. "May I ask you something?"
"Sure," I respond.
"I kinda want to ask you outside if that's okay with you," he tells me. My eyes widen. Does he know? Is that why he wants to talk outside? "I don't want anyone to eavesdrop that's why."
"Um, s-sure," I nod as I follow him outside. We walked to the place where we were talking before and sit down. I felt a shiver go down my spine not because of the night breeze but of my biggest fear coming close around the corner.
"Are you okay?" Akaashi looks at me worryingly.
"I'm just cold," I lied. He gives me a nod before tacking of his jacket and placing it around me. "Akaash-"
"It's the least I could do since I brought you out here all of a sudden," he stops me. "Plus, what kind of person would I be if I let you stay cold."
"Thank you," I tell him. "So what did you want to ask me?"
"Well it's actually two questions if you don't mind," he rubs his nape.
"Go ahead."
"How come you left?" I look down and fidget with my fingers. Akaashi must have noticed and place a hand on my shoulder. "You don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable."
"No, no, no, I'm okay," I send him a smile. "Well, my mom and I have different values and want different things for my future."
"Is it because you want to become a professional player?"
"Yeah," I nod. "She wants me to have an occupation like a lawyer or doctor. But that's not what I want. I want to play. I love volleyball and I won't give up on my dream. You know?"
"I do," Akaashi sighs. "My family also wants something for my future that I don't agree with it."
"Really?" He nods in response. "What do you want?"
"My family wants me to take over their business but I don't want to be a businessman. I really enjoy writing and I want to work in the journalism field. I'm not sure if I ever will with my family."
"I think you can," I place my hand on his, grabbing his attention. "Don't let other people decide for your life."
"I'll try," he smiles.
"I think you could do it," I smile. "Now what was your second question?"
"That kid," Akaashi starts. "Who is he?"
I instantly froze once he mentioned Minoru. How can I tell him that the kid is his? How can I tell him that after all these years, he's a father? The father of a child who he knows nothing about. The father of a child who I been hiding him from. I could feel his gaze, waiting for an answer, but no words came out from my mouth except his name.
"Minoru," I tell him. "His name is Minoru. And he-"
"Y/N!!!" I heard my name being called. I turn around and see Suga looking around for me as he calls out my name. Suga's eyes landed on me and then landed on Akaashi.
I saw how fast his expression changed once he saw that I wasn't alone. He furrowed his eyebrows as he approached me and Akaashi. "Suga I-"
"What are you doing here?" He questions me and he instantly frowns when he sees me covered with Akaashi's jacket. He takes off his jacket and takes Akaashi's jacket off of me before placing his on me. "Come on."
"It's not what you think," Akaashi tells him. "I merely just ran into her at the vending machine and just talked. Nothing else."
Suga gives Akaashi a look before turning his gaze on me. He lets out a small scoff and took my hand. "Come on. It's late."
I gave Akaashi a small wave before walking back to the room with Suga. "Suga I-"
"We'll talk about it in the morning," he stops me. "Let's go to sleep." I give him a small nod before quietly entering the room and went to sleep on our separate futons.
I kept replaying the question that Akaashi had about Minoru in my head. I thought of different responses that I could have given him and how I think he would have reacted. I had to face the fact that sooner than later that Akaashi will find out about who Minoru is.
I bring Minoru, who was currently sleeping, closer to me. I could hear his small heavy breathing as his body lifts up and down. Now I had two things troubling and worrying me, Minoru's health and Akaashi.
[ AKAASHI'S POV ]
I walk back to my room and couldn't help but feel guilt. When I first met Y/N, I felt warmth and happiness and I tried to get closer to her in the past but for some reason, she always got so nervous and stuttered when I talked to her.
I have to admit that I was sad when I first heard that she was no longer in Tokyo. But now that our paths crossed again, I felt the same feeling as the first time I met her.
I won't deny that I wanted to get closer to her but Suga is someone that I respect. I don't want to cause him any trouble but when it comes to her, I just can't help it. I feel guilty for doing this to Suga and I don't want to ruin their relationship.
I let out a deep sigh as I finally reached my room and quietly walk inside in order to avoid waking up the team, especially Bokuto.
There was something that I couldn't figure out. When I asked Y/N this, she froze. I'm not sure if it's something that I shouldn't be asking but I can't help but wonder who the kid was. Minoru.
