[ RECAP ]
I turn around to see him running in my direction. I run up to him and pick him up. I touch his head and cheeks to check how warm he is but I get stopped when he wraps his arms around my neck.
"Mommy, you told me I was going to be okay," I heard him sniffle.
"You will be, I'll make sure of that Minoru," I rub his back and hear him cry on my shoulder.
Please don't have anything serious. Please let this pass. I don't want to see you suffer anymore.
[ 1 HOUR LATER ]
"Minoru-kunnnn," Noya comes running towards us as we exit from the hospital entrance.
"Noya-sannnnnnnn," Minoru's eyes beam with happiness. Minoru adored Noya since he was very energetic and playful.
"How are you, little dude?"
"I feel sick," Minoru pouts. "I don't like it."
Noya looks at me worryingly and then changes his expression when he turns back to Minoru. "Did your mom tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"We're going to Tokyo!!!!"
"Toukuyo?"
"You never heard of the place?" Noya makes an exaggerated gasp. Minoru shakes his head and became interested to know more about Tokyo.
"There are so many buildings! Parks! Restaurants! Trains! And much more!"
"Really?!"
"Come on, we're going there right now," Noya snatches Minoru from my arms and runs back to the bus before I could say anything.
"Hey," Suga places a hand on my shoulder, catching my attention. "Let's smile and try our best to make Minoru happy okay?"
"Yeah," I sigh. "I know for sure that he will be happy now that he saw the team again."
"Come on," Suga grabs my hand. "Let's get on the bus so we could get to Tokyo as fast as we can." I nod and follow him to the bus. Once we got on, I saw Minoru already talking and laughing with Noya and Tanaka. They could be so chaotic when they're together. That's when I noticed that Hinata wasn't with them since he would usually be part of the chaotic group.
"Where's Hinata-kun?" I look around the bus and noticed that Kageyama was also missing. "And Kageyama-kun?"
"They had to stay behind since they did poorly on their exams," Daichi tells me. "I told them to study instead of slacking off."
"Awwwww," I heard Minoru pout at the news.
"But don't worry, I have someone who will pick them up and bring them to training camp tomorrow," Tanaka grins.
"Mommy! Can I sit with Tanaka-san and Noya-san?!"
I was about to say no but then they all made puppy eyes and started to pout cutely. "Fine," I sigh. "Try not to annoy Daichi-san on our way to Tokyo."
"Yay!!!" Minoru cheers as he high-fives Tanaka and Noya.
Suga sits me down next to him and places my head on his shoulder. "Sleep."
"I have to keep an eye on Minoru," I protest.
"I'll keep an eye on them," Suga smiles. "You need to rest."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course."
I give him a small peck on the cheek and place my head back on his shoulder. I haven't gotten proper sleep since I had to take care of Minoru and catch up on my schoolwork. I was grateful to have Suga on my side. He always took care of me even when I couldn't take care of myself.
I drifted off to sleep as the bus started to move. I wonder what the training camp is going to be like.
[ 5 HOURS LATER ]
"Mommy," Minoru shakes my arm gently. I open my eyes and yawn as sit up to stretch.
"What is it, baby? Are you okay?" I examine him to see if he was in any pain.
"Yeah," Minoru smiles. "We're here! Toukuyo!!" I laugh at his pronunciation of the word Tokyo. I checked the time on my phone and it read 11:00 pm. I look around and see that the rest of the team started to wake up.
Minoru climbs onto my lap and looks out at the window from my seat. He was admiring all the lights from the city and all the trains that were passing by. I missed Tokyo. It was my home but I wasn't very fond of the memories attached here. "You know Minoru," I grab his attention. "I used to live here."
"Really?!"
"Yup," I poke his nose. "I want to take you to some of my favorite places later on. Do you want to do that?"
"Yes!!!"
"Okay everyone," Takeda grabs everyone's attention. "When we arrive at the training camp, I want you all to say thanks to them for inviting us. It's pretty late right now, so when we arrive you could say a quick hello and go to sleep. Tomorrow we will have a practice match with Nekoma, so rest up!"
We all nod our heads and suddenly feel the bus come to a stop. I look out the window and see that we arrived at a huge school. Everyone stands up, ready to get off the bus. "I want you to be on your best behavior. There are going to be more people from different schools so I want you to stay as close to me as possible okay?" I pick up Minoru and walk towards the exit of the bus.
"Do they also play volleyball?"
"Yup," I smile at him. We all finally got off and took our bags out from the bus.
"Here," Asahi hands me a bag. "Suga texted me to bring extra clothes. Why do you need extra clothes?"
"Honey," I turn to Minoru. "Go with Suga, he has a snack for you."
"Okay!" I place him down and he runs off to where Suga was.
"Look," I turn my attention back to Asahi. "The doctor told us that Minoru needs to take some tests that are available here in Tokyo. He set up an appointment for us with someone in Tokyo's Hospital already. I might need to stay a few more days after training camp is over."
"Where are you going to stay?"
"I haven't figured it out yet," I sigh. "I just want to know what is causing Minoru to be in pain. I want to stop my baby from suffering any longer."
"I'll help you look for a place to stay," Asahi smiles at me. "I know how important Minoru's health is to you and I also don't want Minoru to suffer any longer. Let's just hope that whatever Minoru has isn't bad. When are you taking him to the doctor?"
"Tomorrow," I respond. "The doctor will call me later on at what time."
"Good thing that the hospital isn't too far away from the training camp," Asahi says. "Anyways, we're going to say hi to the other teams in a few minutes. Do you want to come and meet them?"
I look over to Minoru and see that his eyes were getting droopy and he was yawning every 2 seconds. "Minoru needs to sleep," I tell Asahi. "I'll meet everyone tomorrow."
Everyone in the team knew the people from the other teams except me. The last time they went to training camp, I couldn't go since I had to stay behind to take care of Minoru.
I grab the bags, pick up Minoru, and asked Kiyoko if she could lead me to where we were staying. She leads me to a room that already had some mats placed out for us. I thank her as I place Minoru, who was already half asleep, on a mat.
I could hear some shouting coming from outside, indicating that the teams were happy to see each other again. I can't wait to meet them all tomorrow.
