CHAPTER FOUR // I'M WALKING ON SUNSHINE

THE SMELL OF FRESHLY MADE BANANA BREAD filled Presley's nose the next morning. A small smile took over her face as a yawn escaped her lips. It was moments like this, waking up to her dad baking in the kitchen that reminded Presley of the rare moments that she had gotten with her dad while growing up.

Quickly pushing the blanket back from her body, she threw her dark wavy hair up into a messy bun before exiting the room. The smell of her dad's famous banana bread only grew stronger the closer she got to the kitchen, as usual since Presley and Keely had moved in with Bobby there was the small curly haired child standing on a chair helping her grandpa bake β€” her blonde curls a messy with flour and egg yolk in them along with pieces of smeared banana on her cheeks.

"Morning, you two." Presley smiled, announcing herself while walking into the kitchen. "I see you two have been busy yet again this morning." She teased while raising an eyebrow towards Bobby.

"Morning, mommy." Keely smiled widely as she wiped away the banana from her face. "Grandpa wanted to make banana bread today. I wanted cookies, but he said banana bread is your favorite." The small blonde spoke in a rushed tone while wiping her hands on the small apron that Bobby had bought for her a few days ago.

The Munson woman shook her head as she stared at her father who only shrugged in response, a deep chuckle leaving his throat.

"Your grandpa is right I do love banana bread, but how about you go get cleaned up now, okay?" Presley asked as she picked Keely up from the chair placing a kiss on her sticky cheek.

Keely was very independent for a four year old. She liked to do things on her own and of course Presley let her to some degree. She wanted her daughter to be independent, but she was still just a four year old.

There were moments when Keely didn't want Presley's help for anything and it hurt, but then there were times when Keely clung to her like she'd never let go. It made Presley wonder if Keely was like that of the toxicity with Will. There were days and nights that she knew Keely heard the fights between her and Will β€” no matter how hard she tried to shield her from it.

Keely nodded her head. "Okay, mommy. You gotta put me down though, silly." The blonde laughed as Presley placed kisses all over her face.

"Okay, okay." Presley sighed playfully as she placed Keely on the floor, smiling as Keely ran off towards her bedroom.

Presley could feel her dad's eyes on her as she poured herself a cup of tea. Normally she'd start her morning with coffee, but the caffeine intake was becoming too much for her and a nice cup of decaffeinated tea sounded nice.

"So, how much sugar has she had already this morning?" Presley questioned as she rose an eyebrow in her dad's direction while turning towards him.

A sheepish smile took over Bobby's face as he shrugged. "You know I can't say no to her. That kid has me wrapped around her finger." The bearded man laughed as he pulled the banana bread from the oven and placed it on top of the stove to cool down.

"You and everyone else, dad." Presley sighed. "She needs to hear no once in a while or else I'm going to be raising a spoiled brat." She pointed out, taking a sip of her tea.

"I know kiddo, I know." Bobby nodded. "So, how'd last night go?" He questioned.

Bobby didn't want the details of his daughter's first shoot of course β€” that would be fucking disgusting. He just wanted to make sure she felt safe and was taken care of. Bobby loved his daughter and while her job wasn't one he wanted for her at all β€” he would support her.

The brunette could feel the awkwardness fill the room the second the question left his mouth. She knew her dad just wanted what was best for her and Keely, but it would of been better if he didn't ask at all.

"Fine. Uh yeah, it was fine." Presley nodded with a reassuring smile as she placed her empty tea cup into the sink. "Luann is great." She added while scratching at her head.

"Great. That's great." Bobby nodded as an awkward silence fell over them.

"Yeah. Well, I'm gonna go check on Keely and then I gotta drop her off at Jax's with Neeta."

"Oh right, Gemma is taking you to look at houses today." Bobby's tone held a sadness to it as he placed a small smile on his face.

It had been a little over a month since Presley and Keely showed up and moved in with him and he absolutely loved having them at his home, having them there made it actually feel like a home, but now Presley had decided to rent a place of her own for them and Bobby felt his heart ache. He knew he was being stupid. They were still going to be close to him, but he didn't want them to leave his house just yet. Hell, they could stay forever β€” he'd be content with that.

"Dad, I'm not going anywhere. I'm still going to be right here in Charming." Presley promised as she walked towards her dad and wrapped her arms around him.

"I know, kiddo." Bobby smiled as he held his daughter tightly.

"THIS HOUSE IS A THREE bedroom and two bath, it's got a spacious backyard and is close to the elementary school, and has a great space for entertaining." The older realtor listed off with a bright smile on her face as she walked Presley and Gemma through the charming home.

"It's cute." Gemma commented as she eyed the home from behind her sunglasses. "How much a month?" The older brunette questioned as she lowered her glasses to stare at the pencil skirt wearing woman.

"Oh, um, 2,000." The woman spoke in a flustered tone. "But, that includes utilities." She added with a small smile as her eyes fell onto Presley.

Gemma let out a hum as she pushed her sunglasses back up on her face.

"Well, I'll let you two get a better look and discuss things." The woman gave a tight smile to Presley before walking out of the house.

Presley watched the nervous woman leave before turning towards Gemma. "Way to scare the real estate lady, Gem." The brunette teased with a smile.

"She'll get over it." The SAMCRO queen stated matter of factly. "The place is cute, but not for 2,000." Gemma said as she looked at the young brunette.

"Gem, 2,000 plus utilities included is a steal. I have the money. I can afford it." Presley told the older brunette as her eyes wandered around the brightly lit kitchen.

Honestly it was the best house they had seen today and the best priced. She didn't understand why Gemma was so quick to point out flaws with each house they had looked out, but maybe Bobby had put her up to it. It wouldn't surprise her if her dad had formed a plan with Gemma to keep her and Keely in his house just a little bit longer.

Gemma nodded at Presley's words. "I know you can, baby. So, I've noticed you and Ope have been getting close." The older brunette smirked as she eyed the younger brunette.

Gemma had taken noticed of Opie and Presley's growing relationship. If anyone deserved something good to happen it was Opie. After the death of Donna, he had disappeared for a bit both mentally and physically.

A smile formed on Presley's face at the mention of the tall biker. She found herself enjoying his company.

"He's a nice guy and he's also Keely's best friend." She laughed. "Don't read too much into, Gem." She warned with a raise of her eyebrow.

Gemma raised her hands in surrender. "I won't. I'm just saying it's nice to see the both of you smile. Now, let's see if this bitch will give you a discount on this place." She smirked before wrapping an arm around Presley's shoulders.

PRESLEY KNOCKED ON JAX'S DOOR WITH a smile on her face. After signed the lease ( two hundred dollar less ) for her and Keely's new home she was now picking up Keely to get her some ice cream and tell her the good news.

The smile on Presley's face wavered once Tara opened the door with a frown and judgmental eyes. Tara Knowles wasn't a big fan of Presley's β€” it was painfully obvious. The doctor didn't like The Munson's woman occupation and she certainly didn't like the way Gemma treated her like some princess when it was obvious she was just some porn slut.

"Hey, I'm just here to pick up Keely." Presley said as she tried her best to keep her tone calm, but Tara's scoff and judgmental eyes were making it very difficult.

"Keely!" Tara called as she kept her eyes on the dark haired woman in front of her. "Neeta had to leave a few minutes early so I've been watching her." Tara added as though ten minutes of watching Keely was worthy of a big thank you.

"Oh, well thank you." Presley nodded with a tight lipped smile on her face. "I hope she wasn't too much trouble for you." She added with a bit of sass to her tone.

"Mommy!" Keely exclaimed as she ran passed Tara and wrapped her arms around Presley's legs. "I had fun playing with Abel today. Can I come back tomorrow?" She asked quickly while looking between Presley and Tara.

"I don't know sweetie. I think you have plans with Grandma Gemma tomorrow." She said softly with a smile as she picked Keely up in her arms.

A scoff left Tara's lips at Presley's words.

"Do you have something to say?" The Munson woman questioned in a calm tone as she stared at the doctor.

Tara shook her head. "No. Have a good night." She said before quickly closing the door.

A sigh left Presley's lips as she shook her head. "hey, why don't we go get some ice cream? Then I can tell you all about our new house." The brunette asked enthusiastically as she buckled the curly haired girl into her seat.

"Yes!" Keely nodded with excitement. "I want whipped cream on mine!" The small curly blonde added.

"Of course, baby. We'll bring some back for grandpa too."

Presley pulled out of Jax's driveway with a smile on her face. She wouldn't let Tara Knowles ruin her day.
