Fire fly blasted in Luna's ear as she walked home from school, it was sunny outside and a cool breeze hit Luna skin as she walked the sun hitting her face making her look sun kissed.

Looking down at her phone she saw she got notifications from the group chat she was recently put in with Notti and his brother and best friend.

Luna laughed at Notti message because it was true she was trying to find every reason as to why she couldn't go to the formal, she really just didn't wanna go she didn't have a date and she'd never been to anything formal before.

"Dad I'm home" Luna muttered opening and shutting the front door locking it before slipping her Tasman Uggs off and her bookbag throwing it on the couch.

Hearing noise in the kitchen she just thought it was her dad but was very very wrong.

"Luna hey baby!" Her grandmother popped her head out of the kitchen holding a big bowl with an apron on—the lady was around 5'6 with very fair skin most mistaken her for white but her 4a hair debunked that all the time. Her hair was always out and curly but now that it was grey it was slicked back into buns all the time.

"MiMi?" She asked confusingly, "Where's my father?!" She  panicked her dad did not tell her anything about her grandmother being here

"He had to leave for a business trip it was so last minute he didn't have time to tell anyone but I'll be here with you for a few days" she smiled innocently

"Was I not mature enough to stay home alone dad?" Luna thought to herself, it wasn't like she was gonna throw a party and do hardcore drugs.

Luna was devastated by this news, from the looks of it her grandmother seemed nice and like a normal grandmother but no that wasn't the case she was very strict and babied Luna.

"Let me run you a bath and pick your clothes out it's almost bed" she sat the bowl down walking quickly to the steps

"Mimi its 4" she looked at her dumbfounded, "yes....dinners at 5 bedtimes at 6" she looked at Luna with the same expression

"I don't have a bedtime mimi" she grippig onto her pants string.

"Says who?" She crossed her arms, in a minute she was gonna say the girl was being disrespectful.

"My father and me- I'm not a baby anymo-

"Nonsense." She cut her off, "mimi I can call my dad right now I don't go to sleep at 6 I'll wake back up at like 3am and that'll ruin my entire schedule" she told her

Luna only really had a smart mouth when it was her family and they didn't listen.

"And you don't have to pick my clothes out or run my bath I'm not a little girl" she walked up the stairs leaving her grandmother down there alone.

These were gonna be a really hard few days Luna thought.

LAYING IN HER COZY BED LUNA SAT ON, her computer scrolling through YouTube while having her phone on the right of her that was on tiktok.

Busting into her room was her grandmother, she was so old school she didn't think she needed to knock on a child's door because what privacy do they need.

"Electronics up" She pulled her hand out waiting for Luna to give her the phone and computer

"Excuse me?" She looked at her confusingly, "no phones at night" she was told. her jaw almost dropped.

Without even giving them to her on her own Luna's grandmother took the phone and computer before walking out the room muttering words like "these kids nowadays"

Little did she know Luna had an iPad and as soon as she heard mimi was far enough from her room she grabbed it from off her vanity that she didn't care to look at and went to her dads contact hiding in her bathroom

FaceTiming him she sat the iPad up on her bathroom sink, arms crossed she stood in the frame wearing a black tink top leggings and a bonnet; soon her father answered and he couldn't even get out an "hi baby" before Luna ran her mouth.

"Dad I don't know what you thought you were doing but get mimi asap" she whispered yelled.

"That Lady took all of my electronics and tried to get me to go to bed at 6 and  wants me to keep my room door open- daddy help" she panicked peeking her head out of her bathroom to make sure her grandmom wasnt around.

"Luna babygirl calm down, your phone is on the kitchen counter I can see it on the kitchen camera...mimi is sleep so sneak down there"  he told her as she walked outside of her bathroom into her room with the pink iPad.

"I love you...and lay off Mimi  she's getting old" he told her blowing a kiss she mimicked the action before hanging up.

"Getting old but act the same way she been acting" she muttered under her breath walking down the steps on her tippy toes making sure not to make any creaks.

After successfully grabbing her phone she sped up the steps but unfortunately was too loud because her grandmom came out of her room luckily Luna hid her phone in her bra.

"Luna what are you doing up?" She questioned her granddaughter wrapping her robe around her leaning on the door frame.

"I-I-i was just grabbing snack" she stuttered trying to come up with a lie, Mimi looked at her unpleased.

"To bed now, I don't wanna have to tell you again, you not too old for a ass whooping" she spoke walking back into her room.

Luna huffed speeding into her bedroom, shutting her door she laid in her bed staring at the ceiling; Luna was definitely not one to sneak out or do anything rebellious but she just couldn't stand her grandmothers rules not after years of obeying them.

Sighing she clicked on Notti's contact in disbelief of what she's about to say but in her mind she was saying, "fuck it".
