008 — BENEFACTOR




















Derek placed down the axe that he had removed from Peter after he got attacked by an assassin. Laura watched them closely as she sat on the spiral stairs chewing on an airhead.

Derek walked around the desk to where Peter was leaning against it in pain, as he explained what he was going to have to do to stop the pain as the axe was laced with wolfsbane and since neither of them knew the species, he would have to burn it out of him.

Derek held up a small lighter to Peter who gave him a look. "I think I can handle a little fire." He told him both knowing that he has survived a house fire and so the lighter in comparison was nothing.

Derek smiled smugly as he picked up a blowtorch before using the smaller lighter to light a flame. Laura giggles from where she sat, she looked between the two men amused in their playful banter.

Peters eyes widened when he realised that actually a little fire had now turned into a lot of fire. "Oh, hell." He looked at the device in discomfort knowing that what was to come next wasn't going to be pleasant.

Laura winced and covered her ears as Peter let out a loud scream that could be heard throughout the whole building. As soon as it was over Derek helped his Uncle up off the floor as they discussed who had attacked Peter.

"He said he was after you...and the girl." Peter told them.

"Me?" Laura spoke as she tilted her head. If someone was after her then someone must of found her, the only people that come to mind are the Calavera's or the Transigen corporation, and Laura didn't want either parties to capture her again.

"How does a guy with no mouth say anything?" Derek asked his Uncle "and why Laura? Why any of us?"

Peter picked up a glove that had a keyboard attached to it "With this, and aren't there always people after us?"

Laura had gone with Derek to the Sheriff station as Derek still didn't trust Peter to look after the girl knowing that he would probably drive her out of town and leave her somewhere. He also thought he would bring her along as the Sheriff said that he would look into trying to find out what had happened to her Father.

Derek placed the glove on the table showing it to the Sheriff hoping that he would know how it works.

"I still don't get how this guy has no mouth" Stilinski said as he examined the glove "I mean, how can he eat?" He asked as if Derek knew.

"Peter didn't get a chance to ask. He was fighting him off with a tomahawk buried in his chest" Derek deadpanned as he motioned to his chest area.

The Sheriff sighed not impressed with Dereks some what joke however Laura found it pretty amusing as she snorted causing both men to look towards her, but she just shrugged innocently.

"Yeah, and who runs around with a tomahawk?" Sheriff whispered but Laura picked it up and spoke at the same time as one of the Sheriffs deputy's walked into the room.

"Donald had one" She told them, they both looked towards the girl with a quizzical look.

"Man from Transigen. Military?" She said not knowing if she got the word right "War" She clarified and the two nodded, however it was neither of them who replied.

"She's right, it's military. I carried one for IED removal in Afghanistan. That things military too" Deputy Parrish pointed towards the glove that the Sheriff still held.

"Do you know what it's used for?" Derek asked him hopefully as all three men looked down at it.

"Well, this one looks like it's been modified." Parrish said as he continued to examine the glove, he's seen similar ones but the one they had was different.

The Sheriff looked up at Derek who nodded back in reply before the man went over and shut his door so that no one else would overhear their conversation.

"Show us." The Sheriff asked.

Laura was listening to the three men trying to figure out how the glove works. She felt useless in these situations as all she was taught for most of her life was how to fight, she didn't know much about investigating and solving problems.

"Okay, I think I got an IP address" Deputy Parrish tells them.

The Sheriff leans forward getting a better look at the laptop. "That means we can find him, right?" He asks Parrish.

Parrish nods "Definitely, especially if..." Parrish pauses as he types something in on the laptop before stopping as the glove made a whirring sound.

Laura's head perked up at the sounds as she watched the three adults mirroring their faces of confusion.

"What was that?" Derek asks.

Parrish looks back to his laptop reading it before telling them what he found. "I think I found a message. Does anyone recognise the handle "benefactor"?"

Laura had zoned out knowing that she had heard the word benefactor before but she couldn't remember exactly where. She knew it had something to do with Transigen but she couldn't remember what for.

"Money transferred. What does that mean?" Derek asked as he looked at the computer.

As soon as Derek mentioned money being transferred Laura sat up causing the three men to look at her.

"Assassins" She told Derek. The three men all look at each other knowing that whoever is after them knows exactly what they are doing.

Derek, Laura and the Sheriff enter the school where Parrish said the IP address was coming from.

"You know, just because this guy connected to the school's Wi-Fi, doesn't mean he's still here." Derek told the Sheriff as they walked down the dark empty halls.

"True. But I've seen enough in this school to keep a gun in my hand when walking in after dark."

They both continue walking but Laura stops when she saw blood coming from one of the classroom. She looks back at the two men who seemed to have caught sight of it.

"Like blood." The Sheriff tells Derek.

"That doesn't make sense?" Derek said.

"Yeah, no kidding" The Sheriff replied knowing that it was a school and there isn't suppose to be puddles of blood around.

"That's not what I mean. I should've caught the scent before we walked in." Derek tells him confused as to why he didn't catch the scent of blood.

They turn back around as Laura walks forward to the door grabbing the handle, but before she could open it the Sheriff placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Hold on" He whispered before turning to Derek. "You nervous makes me nervous" He admitted before shining the torch into the classroom to see if anyone or anything was in there.

He cautiously cracks the door seeing something tied to it. Derek looks into the room spotting the device on the floor.

"It's an explosive. A claymore" He tells them.

Laura turns her head as she hears footsteps approaching. Her and Derek spot an axe coming their way before Derek yells and pulls the Sheriff to the ground to avoid being hit with the axe.

The Assassin jumps from the stairs and runs at them. The Sheriff grunts as he is pushed out of the way.

The assassin targets Derek swinging his axe at him before Derek slams him into the lockers and onto the floor. The assassin is quick to get back up but before he can attack Derek, Laura jumps onto his back pulling at one of the arms which causing him to drop the axe. He glares back at her before shoving himself into one of the lockers causing her to let go.

She gets back up just as Derek restrains him and the Sheriff gets up pointing his gun at the assassin.

"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one..." Laura cuts the Sheriff off as she sees the assassin eyeing the axe on the floor before he looks up at Peter who had just walked down the hall.

Peter started running towards him but before he could even get a swing at him, Laura had picking up the axe that the assassin had been eyeing up knowing he was going to try and kill them again and swung it in his stomach causing him to fall to the ground.

"Laura no!" Derek yelled but she didn't listen.

She then continued to climb onto the assassin and remove the axe before extending her claws, grunting as she teared him apart.

When she looked up at Derek he looked at her in disappointment causing her to feel guilty but she was just trying to protect them, and for most of her life she was taught to protect herself by killing threats.

She looked back at the body which was now beside her on the ground "Sorry?" She shrugged not really knowing that to say.

Derek walked over to her crouching down beside her "Laura, we don't kill our enemies, we stop them from causing anyone else harm."

Laura looked at him confused "How can you stop them when you don't kill?"

Derek sighed as he put a hand on her shoulder. "We've learned a better way, we protect those who can't protect themselves. I can help you too" He gives Laura a smile of reassurance who nods at Derek.

"Okay" She replies.

Peter scoffed at Derek "She's a creature of habit, Derek. I mean I'm impressed, I didn't think she had it in her. I'm starting to warm up to the little girl"

Derek glared back at his Uncle before looking back towards Laura. "Don't listen to him. There's always a better way, the right way. It doesn't always have to be killing, do you understand?" He asks her knowing that she has done one thing her whole life and so it must be hard to try and change the only thing you know.

Laura shook her head slightly. "Not really but okay" She replied before Derek got back up and lead them out of the school building.

Lydia and Kira are in Lydia's Lake house trying to break the code. All these numbers and letters show up before a beep is heard and a blank box appears next to some text showing Keyword.

Lydia feeling as if she was on autopilot slowly types out a word. Allison. Before pushing enter which uncovers all of the letters revealing names and numbers next to each other.

Kira and Lydia both stare at the screen as it lists all the names.

"What is this?" Kira asks

"It's a list of supernaturals in Beacon Hills." She answers as she looks down the list catching her own name above Scott's along with the Walcott's which are now all dead and one other name that they both recognise. "It's a Deadpool".
