005 — LOFT
Laura sat down shovelling the food Derek had cooked for her earlier into her mouth as he was sat across the room with his Uncle and another woman discussing something to do with Kate, who Laura vaguely remembers from the previous night.
The woman kicked her feet up onto the table and Laura stopped eating for a second wondering what Derek's Uncle Peter would say as she knew he had a weird obsession over it as she did something similar the previous night and all she could remember him saying was something about expensive Italian furniture and how kids don't appreciate these things anymore.
Peter gave the woman an unimpressed look "The tables Italian" He stated and Derek had to cough to hide his smirk as he could see Laura mock him from where she sat -luckily Peter paid her no attention- before she went back to her food.
"So are these boots" The woman sassed back causing Laura to snort and Derek to smile at her comment, both of them amused at the woman's attitude towards Peter. "Are we gonna talk interior design and fashion...or, are we gonna talk numbers?" She questioned the two men across from her getting straight to the point.
Peter sighed as he started to write down some numbers as Derek went back to staring into his glasses which Laura noticed he had been doing since the previous night when he transformed back into a man. She knew something was wrong but decided not to say anything, she didn't want him feeling uncomfortable.
Peter slid the piece of paper he had been writing on across the table and the woman picked it up looking at it amused and she crossed it out as wrote down something else underneath before passing it back over to him.
"We're hiring you to find Kate, not assassinate the president" He rolled his eyes at the figure.
"I was hired by the Calaveras to find Kate, you're hiring me to find her first. Going against the Calaveras is what's going to cost you" She shrugged.
Peter wrote down something else and slid it back over to her but she didn't even look at it before sliding it back not making a move to change her mind.
Peter rolled his eyes and sighed before standing up and storming away not being able to handle her attitude, he already had enough sass coming from the young child that Derek had insisted stay with him. He couldn't handle much more.
Derek however grabbed the piece of paper and ripped it up. "We'll pay. Just find Kate, that's all we want" He told her agreeing to her terms as Peter turned back around giving him a look. The woman smiled smugly towards Peter as she got up and left. Peter slammed the door behind her causing Laura who was still eating to jump in her seat.
"Are you insane?!" He asked his nephew wondering why he would agree to her deal.
"We didn't have a choice. We spent a week looking for her and came up with nothing" Derek reminded him as he faced away from them and looked out of the window.
Peter ignored him "If we don't find out who told Kate about the vault, we don't get those bonds back. What do you think I'm going to do then huh? Get a job? My resume is slightly out of date" Peter told him pissed that someone somehow had managed to steal his life savings. "We got robbed, Derek. Robbed!" Peter grabbed his shoulder wanting his nephew to actually acknowledge the fact that he was listening to him. Derek span around and gripped his wrist growling at him as his eyes shone golden.
"Oh, that's a new look for you" Peter squinted his eyes at Derek who ripped his grip from him. "What happened to your eyes?" He asked intrigued wondering how it was possible for them to change from blue to gold over night.
"I don't know" Derek told him honestly "But I'm willing to pay to find out" He told him, Peter now releasing why he had given in to the woman so easily, he needed to know what Kate did to him that made his eyes change.
"Well I'm heading out. Oh before I forget the trash needs to be taken out and while you're at it, you could probably get rid of the girl too. We're not running an orphanage here Derek" Peter commented as he walked towards the door, Laura now glaring daggers at the back of his head.
"You know if I remember correctly, you don't live here Peter, so it's not your decision to make" Derek replied not in the mood for Peters games.
"Given the certain circumstances, do you really think it's the best choice to have a child living here right now?" He asked him "Besides it didn't end well the last time you had kids running around here, did it?" He raised his eyebrows knowing he was right.
"That's none of your concern. Goodbye Peter" Derek dismissed him as he turned to the young girl who had now finished eating.
"I need to go to the school and check up on Scott and Stiles, wanna come?" He asked her and she nodded in reply grabbing her sunglasses before she placed them on the top of her head as she had watched Derek do the same moments before.
He smiled at her before grabbing his keys "Come on, let's go" He said as he led her to his truck which was parked outside of the building.

Laura was sat on the school bleachers as she watched the game. Derek had left her there in Scott's care whilst he had other business to take care of not wanting to leave the girl on her own, or worse with Peter.
Laura sat next to the two girls from the other night and listened into their conversation as she watched as the players had begun to practice by running laps around the field.
She couldn't help but stare at the guy who started to do press ups when everyone else had to lie down to catch their breath. She wondered if he was anything like her or Derek, that could explain why he hadn't even broken a sweat, or maybe he was just that good.
Laura grabbed a comic from her bag and started to read it as the game got boring and the girls started to talk about bad smells and kissing.
Laura stopped reading as the girl who she learnt was Kira spoke up. "Isn't the Captain suppose to be one of the best players on the team? Or good?" She asked Malia who had the same confused expression on her face.
"He is, he hasn't missed?" Laura said confused to the girl thinking that the Captain was the guy who seemed brilliant at the sport but she couldn't be more wrong.
"Oh uh no, he's not the Captain. Scott is" Kira told the young girl who furrowed her eyebrows at her answer.
"He hasn't made a shot I know, maybe he's having an off day?" She said trying to convince herself more than the girl who went back to reading her comic.
Laura didn't pay much attention the game as it went on, she didn't understand it much and it just confused her. She was near to finishing her comic when Malia suddenly jumped out of her seat demanding a do-over.
"Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles" Malia yelled at the Coach who agreed before pulled them back in. This peaked Laura's interest as she focused back on the game seeing the two boys go against the one who she previously thought was the actual Captain, Liam. Before she could even try and understand what was happening Scott had flipped the boy over onto the ground causing him to land on his leg. Laura could even hear the snap of his leg from where she was sat, she knew that if he wasn't like her then he would probably never play Lacrosse again.
She watched as the two boys looked down at him guiltily before they helped him up and headed inside to take him to the nurse, motioning for the girl to follow. Laura grabbed her comic and made a move to follow them trying to keep up with where they went so that she wouldn't get lost.
