CH05: ANOTHER ANOMALY !

— YOU ran to follow miles down the hall of the spider society, a alarm went off which was loud. you accidentally tripped but caught yourself.

"[Name], we don't have time for this!" Hobie shouted while he chased after you, but instead of listening you just ignored him.

Separating from miles you wrapped your arms around a dinosaur, it roars in surprise. you chuckled nervously as it turned around, "Hi?" you say and tries to attack you but you quickly dodged.

Mao chirps nervously while staying on your shoulder, burying its face in your hair. "Sorry Mao." You whispered.

But you know exactly who you had to call in. a replica of yourself! that's it. that would do the trick.

Touching the button around your ankle you could see the shadow you appear. it looked a bit different too. it glanced at you, "What is it you need me to do?" they ask.

"Distract them away from me and miles." You ordered, "and hey- what should I call you again?"

"It's OX." OX replies while its shadow starts glitching slightly which makes you surprised, "how is that possible...? I thought hobie-" you paused, "to hell with it. he always lies."

Hobie overheard this and his heart breaks slightly, he understood you don't trust him but at the same time he had a good reason. he couldn't just blurt out the truth right then and there.

Someone tackled you to the side and you saw it was a..cat spider? aww that's adorable. you then aggressively throw it to the side, it hisses.

"Could this get any damn weirder?!" You shouted while running next to miles who looks off to the side— oh crap, it was that same dinosaur spider-man.

"Whoa! I guess it can!" Miles exclaimed as you webbed alongside him, dodging the dinosaurs bites.

You accidentally stepped on someone's food, "sorry!" you apologized while still running.

You used your chains to latch onto a door but got tackled to the ground along with miles, making you groan in pain while sighing.

Going the separate way from miles you crash through a wall, OX following you while trying they're best to distract all the spiders.

Miles appeared next to you again, someone shot a ball of webs at you which you dodged. you and miles also landed on a horse.

"On the count of three, draw." The guy says but instead you don't- miles webs the guys face and you throw a right hook to his face also— knocking him to the ground.

OX sighs, "was that necessary? you're suddenly being violent."

"Shut up, you're a replica you don't know anything." You said while continuing to web yourself away from the hoard of spiders.

You start running once more and tried avoiding any obstacles that were in your way, Miles was right next to you.

Miles glanced over his shoulder seeing that the hoard of spiders fell, this made you chuckle but soon that stopped when someone tackled you and miles to the ground.

It was miguel, gosh can he leave you two alone for a minute? apparently not.

You followed miles before miguel could attack you both again, when you both made it back up there was a bunch of them again.

"'Sup? there's nowhere to run." someone says, miguel appears once again and runs towards the both of you.

Shielding miles from the glass you wrap your arms around him and web the two of out of the building.

"My bad, everybody. there was somewhere to run."

Miles tried using his web shooters to land somewhere safe but there wasn't anywhere he could land.

"Stop running!" Miguel shouted to the two of you, "then stop chasing us!" Miles shouted back.

"You're both so frustrating!" Miguel says. "No, you are!" you replied while rolling your eyes.

"I know they're you're friends, but it's the only way!" Jessica said to Gwen and Hobie.

"Only way? you've got a bunch of spider people chasing two people! two! y'all need to chill!" Hobie shouted, "And miguel knows how he can't get when he's angry. so imagine getting punched in the face constantly by him."

You used your web to latch onto a car but miguel was quick to snap it in half and swipe it away, making you and miles fall.

Turning around the window was blowing against you hard, making your hair get in the way of your face.

Once again you and miles get separated a second time. it took you awhile to get used to your surroundings— but you noticed you were still descending down lower.

Someone's webs latch onto your waist, making sure you don't fall. when you opened your eyes, and saw it was Hobie.

He frowned, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. hoping you would give up and just come back home.

You snatch his web off of you while letting yourself fall lower to the ground, the glare you sent Hobie made it seem like you hate him.

And for now, you do hate him.

Hobie heart shatters once more, a feeling of pain and hurt just binding together all over again.

OX watches with a deepening frown— you were changing the story again. you were supposed to go home with Hobie, not stay here.

Heading over to miles someone tackled you again, putting you in a chokehold. more arms wrapped around you and it was hard to process who these people were.

"Get off me!" You shouted and OX comes to your aid, using they're black smoke to blind the others.

You fell down lower to somewhere unknown, making you cough from the smoke. OX let's out a small grunt, wiping the dust from they're face.

"Miles! [Name]!" A voice whispered as you get pulled in and land on a rough surface, "No, no, no. let us go!" Miles whisper shouted.

"It is crazy to run!" Peter says to the two of you, "running is the least crazy thing going on!" You whispered.

"I feel bad!" Peter replied and you turned to him, "Good!" Miles whispers again.

"But this is just how stuff works! you're both not gonna win, here!" Peter shouts.

You crawled through the small space while scanning anywhere for a exit, OX has been quiet throughout the whole thing.

"No. No." You say while shaking your head, ignoring Peter. "Wait, don't move! stop moving so fast!" he shouted.

"NO!" You shouted more aggressively this time, rolling your eyes as you made you way out of the tiny space, miles right behind you.

"Do you both wanna hold my baby?" Peter asks, Miles turns around. "What?" he replied.

"Would you two just give the baby one squeeze, and then we'll talk?" Peter said, "Cuz I think it's gonna change our vibe."

"No!" Miles replied.

Peter sighs, "it's very rejuvenating!" he said once more. "We're plenty rejuvenated!" You add.

"You'll get moreso when you go chest to chest with this magical child!" Peter explains shortly, "You don't get to have a heartfelt conversation with us right now!" You say.

Peter lands in front of you and miles with mayday in his arms, "Just hold the baby, we'll see what happens!" Peter replied.

You exclaimed loudly while clutching your head.

"You're both the reason I had her, okay?!" Peter shouted.

You and miles walk into a more spacious room, you kneel down as you look for another exit.

"I thought...that if I did a decent job raising her, there was a chance she was gonna turn out like you both." Peter says, "and that got me excited, because you two are both wonderful people! and I like being around you two!"

"Then why didn't you come see us?" Miles asks, you rubbed a tired hand over your face— feeling drained already.

"Be-" Peter pauses, "I couldn't."

You shake your head, "we wanted to be with you guys so badly. but this thing isn't what we thought it was."

"Look...bad things are gonna happen. It makes us who we are. but good things happen too, you know? like you two happened." Peter says before looking down at mayday, "like she happened."

Mayday holds onto the two of you while giggling, you quickly take her off the both of you. "Hey! we don't..listen.." miles sighs.

"You both are so bad at holding a baby!" Peter says while chuckling. you wanted to laugh a little too, a tiny smile tugging at your lips.

'We got your location, Peter. Inside the core.'

You heard come from his bracelet which made you freeze in place, miles doing the same.

"Wait! Wait, wait, wait, no! No, no! you do not have my location! over!" Peter says.

'Send everyone.'

It was Miguel's voice, Hobie shuts his eyes closed while shaking his head. holding onto his web shooters tightly.

"No, no, no! look- miles, [name]! I didn't know! I promise you!" Peter says, you and miles back away from him. then he grabs onto your wrist.

"Please, you guys, let's talk about this." Peter pleaded. you grab onto his wrist while taking his hand off yours, "We already did." you say.

You nodded to miles while Peter looked between the two of you, miles used his web shooters and wrapped it around peters ankles, you wrapped your webs and webbed his mouth also.

"Good talk." Peter says and you disregard him while helping miles take off the metal and making an exit of your own.

Wrapping your arms around yourself you let yourself fall, a warm breeze embracing you.

An explosion causes that embrace to soon go away, you and miles finding a building to web onto.

Hobie and Gwen help Jessica make her way towards you— Hobie was not on they're side he was on your side.

She comes towards the two of you but you're quick to wrap a web around her and pin her to a bus.

"See? they're more capable of something than you think." Hobie says while sending Jessica a smirk. he always believed you. always.

You and miles land on a bus, Miguel in front of the two of you.

"Stop pretending you both know what you're doing!" Miguel shouted, "Oh, he has a plan." You replied while gesturing to miles, "he just...hasn't told you yet!"

You wrap your web around Miguel's face, blinding him. somehow he latched onto you and miles wrist and tugged your bracelet off.

You started glitching continually, OX suddenly disappearing. "I'm sorry, [name]...you're on your own now." they say and vanish.

"Departing from the web...that's not good." Miles says and you nod in agreement, your web almost snapping.

Your web suddenly snaps, so does miles. you two descend down lower to the train.

Miguel climbed his way up, clearly angry as his claws dug into the hard metal.

"What are those, claws?" Miles asks while backing away, "Yeah. I don't even know if he's spider-man." You whispered to miles in reply.

"Dude, are you sure you're even spiderman?" You asked this time.

Miguel snatched your web away which made you groan in annoyance as Miguel started catching up.

"Are you? who do you think you are? really?" Miguel replied.

You slowly turned around, "My name...is miles morales." Miles says.

"And well- you already know my name." You said while you started glitching once more.

You watch as miles makes his way towards Miguel, kicking him across the face. "I was bitten by a radioactive spider!" Miles says, Miguel wraps his web around the two of you.

"And I'm pretty sure you know the rest, grumpy man!" You shouted towards Miguel.

Miles throws a web at Miguel's face, blinding him. you take that as your chance to snap his web off you and miles.

The both of you head down into a tunnel and you and miles land onto a car, a nervous man looks at the two of you.

"'Sup, man?" Miles says and you waved, "Yo." you added.

Miguel lands on top of the two of you, he ripped your suit with his claws making you wince. "I don't get it! you're both anomalies!" he shouted.

"Not if you let us go home!" Miles shouted, you sent a punch to Miguel's face making him cry out in pain.

You ducked under the car, taking miles down with you so the two of you won't get hit. Miguel didn't see it coming so of course— he got hit.

The both of you then landed on top of a bus, a girl pointed towards you and miles.

"Snitch!" You and miles say in sync while webbing back onto the train.

Miguel lands on top of you but you start punching him, "lay off!" you shouted and kicked him across the face, "everywhere you both go, you're anomalies!" he says.

"You're the original anomalies!" Miguel shouted, you stare down at him and start glitching along with miles.

"Miguel! stop man!" Hobie shouted as he made his way on top of the train, you coughed and gasped for air. feeling a pain in your lower abdomen.

"The spiders that gave you two powers wasn't from your dimensions! It was never supposed to bite you two!" Miguel shouted.

"Miguel, don't!" Gwen says while Hobie was right beside her, about to brace himself for a lot of chaos.

"There's a world out there with no spiderman and spiderman/woman to protect them, because it bit the two of you instead! you're not supposed to be heroes!" Miguel shouted.

"No! you're lying! we're heroes!" Miles shouted and threw his webs at Miguel but Miguel snapped them in half and slammed you and miles down onto the train.

"You're both mistakes!" Miguel yelled and you felt your hands shaking, "if you both hadn't been bit, your Peter Parker would've lived! Instead, he died, saving you two." Miguel explained, "if the both of you would've stopped the collider before it ever went off, spot wouldn't exist, and none of this would've happened. and all this time, I have been the only one holding it all together!"

"Get off of us!" Miles shouted, Hobie watches this while trying to reach you and miles.

You were about to say something that would anger Miguel even more— but you had to say it.

"This is about you're daughter isn't it?" You say while turning to Miguel, he noticed the rather angry glint in your eyes. a shiver runs down his spine but he disregarded that and glared at you.

"Don't you dare bring her into this." Miguel says, "No. you're still mad that she's gone. you just can't accept that, can you? I'll admit; what happened with the collider was a mistake, yes. but that doesn't mean you take you're anger out on teenagers. just accept that fact she's GONE." You shouted.

This made miguel angrier it seems as he wraps his hand tighter around your throat, this didn't seem to faze you though since you had the upper hand.

Miguel then leans down to whisper to you, "why do you even exist? you're supposed to be dead anyway." he says which makes your eyes go wide in surprise and shock.

"Miguel, go easy on them!" Peter shouted, "You both don't belong here." Miguel says to you and miles, "you both never did."

"Miguel, that's enough!" Hobie shouted angrily, "this isn't what we talked about!" Peter added.

This made you pause, "you talked about this? you...you all knew?" you ask tearfully.

Miles lips turn into a frown, you felt your eyes glaze over with more tears as you look down at Hobie.

"Hobie..?" You said in a hoarse tone, Hobie avoided your gaze, "I- I...I didn't know how to tell you. but I promise you it- it wasn't meant to be this serious. you were supposed to come back home with me anyway. I swear." he says.

"So that's why you never came to see me." You say in realization. the reality of this was hitting you hard.

"[Name], Miles, it's for your own good!" Gwen adds, "Who decides that?!" Miles shouted back in reply.

"We're not kids, Gwen!" Miles says while you try to ignore the pain in your abdomen.

Miguel slams you and miles down once more, "That's exactly what you both are! you're just kids! who has no idea what they're doing!" he says.

Miles hand made a small spark, you glanced at him before turning to miguel.

"Yeah, well...he did lure hundreds of spiderpeople away from your little clubhouse." You say causing miguel to turn around, "Huh?" he replied confusedly.

"I guess they did plan this out!" Peter exclaimed happily.

"And...I'm about to do this." Miles says as a smirk made its way onto his lips, "Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go. Nah. Imma do my own thing. sorry man. we're going home."

"Buh byeeeeee!" You say to miguel while chuckling, he looks at you in disbelief before he gets venom struck by miles and goes down lower to the train.

Hobie felt a smile tug at his lips, he glances up towards you while smiling brightly. but he notices your glare which makes his smile flatter.

You and miles stand up, you noticed how you were slowly starting to vanish as well.

"Goodbye, Gwen." Miles says then looks at you, you send him a nod telling him to go. he does so and turns himself invisible.

"Miles!" Gwen shouted sadly. then she turns to you, Hobie does the same. he notices how the tips of your fingers turned grey.

"I don't hate you, Hobie. I can't hate you." You say, "you were only trying to protect me but I didn't want to listen. but at the same time— I wanna do my own thing. I wanna do what I want and not what someone else wants. but..I love you. and thank you for being there for me," you then paused before sighing. "but I don't wanna see you ever again. stay away from me."

Hobie gasps slightly and his hands shake a little, Gwen glances down beneath her and frowns again.

You wrap your arms around yourself, "Goodbye, Hobie." You say and disappear into thin air.

Suddenly you're back in a more colder environment, you could see Xo'zin in the distance next to a girl. he was working on the computers and glancing at the monitor from time to time.

Miles head into the glass pod and you waited for a second before unplugging Xo'zin's computer, distracting him. "Wha-?" he was confused.

You head into the pod next to miles and clutch your aching stomach.

"No, no! stop." Xo'zin silently curses to himself while trying to fix the computer, "crap.." he mumbles to himself.

You slowly reveal yourself and Xo'zin sees you and miles in the distance, his eyes widen in surprise.

Miles spider sense went off and he turns around, seeing Miguel crash through the glass and make his way towards the both of you.

Hobie followed right behind him, trying to hold him back. "Will you stop man? you've done enough damage!" he shouted angrily.

"Stop them! now!" Miguel shouted.

"Hey! what does it look like we're trying to do?!" Xo'zin says in reply.

Miguel jumps onto the pod while he tries to break his way through, "Do something!" he yelled.

You glanced behind him and saw Hobie in the distance, he looked at you worriedly.

That's when you turned to Xo'zin and the girl beside him, he looked at you with wide and panicked eyes.

Xo'zin looks at the 'yes - no' option then glances at you and miles once more. the two of you look at him and all you do is put your mask back on.

"No!" Miguel shouted. you curl into yourself and pull your knees to your chest.

Then it goes quiet after you and miles disappeared. finally heading back home.

Hobie stands there, his chest heaving and he placed a hand on his head, rubbing the side of his face— wondering what he was going to tell your mom and how he was gonna get you back.

A console comes towards Miguel but he crushes it to pieces and throws it to the side, "o— okay, enough! it's not the console's fault." Peter spoke.

"All they had to do was listen!" Miguel shouted, "why didn't they listen?"

"Maybe, you weren't hard enough on them!" Gwen adds while glaring at Miguel. "No, that would make things worse, he chose violence instead of talking to them like a real adult would." Hobie stated.

"Hobie, Gwen, don't do it." Jessica steps in while turning to them both, basically telling them to let it go.

"You both let them go." Miguel said while glancing over his shoulder towards Hobie and Gwen.

"Us?" Gwen says in reply, "You both didn't catch them, Gwen, Hobie." Miguel continued.

"Okay, let's all just take a breath..." Peter says. "Peter!" Hobie says and hushes him with his hand.

Hobie then turns to Miguel.

"You wanna back us up?" Gwen asks Peter who already looked tired.

"Well, okay. Miguel? as a father of a daughter, and the son of a mother..." Peter trails off.

"Yeah, actually, stop talking." Jessica replied while shaking her head.

Peter nods, "okay, duly noted."

Hobie and Gwen step forward, "let us just talk to them." Gwen says.

"We tried that." Miguel says as he walks past the both of them, "They're my friends." Gwen replied.

"Yeah, and that's the problem." Miguel said, "Do you know what happens for certain if they break the canon?" Hobie adds.

Miguel stops in his tracks and turns towards Hobie and Gwen, they start backing up quickly.

"You wanna find out?" Miguel says menacingly as he walks towards them, "I told you they were a liability." he says to Jessica.

"You're wrong. Jess? back us up maybe?" Hobie replies while glancing at her.

Jessica sighs, "he's...not." she replied.

"Are you serious right now?" Gwen added, "I told you guys. you let them get away, I can't help either of you." Jess says.

"We're not coming." Hobie says and glared up at miguel, "you're right." Miguel replied.

"What?" Gwen says confusedly, Hobie felt something grab him by the the shoulders and he thrashed around in his grip.

"Aye, what the hell?!" Hobie exclaimed, he and Gwen were both placed in the pod.

"Go home. Hobie, Gwen." Miguel says.

Gwen stares at him, "We are supposed to be the good guys." she said.

"But nah, we can be the bad guys when we decide to. y'all already showed us that." Hobie says while glaring at everyone, the pod then closes.

Then, they were gone.

Xo'zin felt his hands shaking a little as he frowned. he glanced at Miguel with while sending him a small glare.

"We are." Miguel said and then he slowly turns around while letting out a small grunt.
